thanks for unearthing this! i had never seen George sing this particular song on TV and the crowd reaction was just as I thought it would be, clapping and cheering during the song's title. a wonderful song, though under-rated.
i was just reading about possum holler in georges book i live to tell it all.if your a jones fan you have to read the book. thank you for posting this video
He tells how he was taken to the back room of possum hollar and was held down and forced to take cocaine. I hope there all dead in there graves . RIP George ❤
George, or his business, had Possum Hollers in several other states that I know of. I was in a band that played the grand opening of one in York, SC, back around this same time period, opening for George. We also played another one in Harrisburg IL, if I remember right.
thank you so much for this video. this is about the time i met george and the band in texas. i hate that we didn't see ralph but so thrilled to see zack, ernie, clyde and gary. memories.....i did not know that gary passed away...so sorry to hear that, he was a very sweet and talented man.
Left Phila. Pa. to Nashville in 75, stopped at Boots Randolf at printers alley, then on to POSSUM HOLLER that had the best band and met Don Young there, he did a few Jones songs for us

this was the year i met all of them. i had such a crush on Gary. my cousin actually has a daughter with Ernie. such an awesome group of men. George was a hoot for sure lol.
Pepper's is heck of a guy and will be up in Muscle Shoals,Al in a few days. We're going to finish this George Jones book I started last year with some Pepper's input.
Hans, my father, Shug Baggott, owner of Possum Holler and manager of George Jones at the time, passed away this past week. I would very much like to talk to you about using this video in a video the family is preparing. I've tried to reach you via every contact I could find to no avail, so far. If you are still reading these comments, I would appreciate you trying to reach me via Google+ or Facebook. My name is Brett Baggott and I'm not very hard to find online. You may very well have the ONLY footage of George singing at Possum Holler that is available.
I certainly don't want to start a war on Mr. Haggstrom's awesome video so this will be my only rebuttal to any and all comments such as yours here. Having said that, I will say that your understanding of the history of this issue is, very naive. First, George didn't need any help ruining his life before or after his involvement with my father and his involvement with my father also did NOT coincide with his use of drugs. If you want to open your mind a bit and use your brain, I encourage you to read my review of Dolly Carlisle's biography of George, which was one of the first: www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R110USO5R5DFFO/
Brett you are absolutely correct. For people to blame your father for George's actions of the mid and late 1970s is silly , in fact George's life would have probably ended during that period if NOT for your father ! Your father worked long and hard trying to keep George alive during that period. You could tell that shug truly cared about George Jones , and your father paid a high price for that effort. I was truly sorry to hear of your father's passing.
If you like this video, you might like reading more about Possum Holler on Facebook. I'm not trying to promote on your page Mr. Haggstrom, just thought y'all might enjoy it. That is not Elvis Costello singing back-up, and possun holler was in downtown nashville.
Read his book , I lived to tell it all . He describes how he was dragged into the back room of possums hollar and was held down and forced cocaine.
I can drink to this
After some investigations I will say that it´s probably the late Gary Boggs

It was a country music club in Nashville near the old Grand Ole Opry but it´s closed down since long time ago.
