Depends how high you want your bun, if you want it exactly like the video then you’ll need shoulder length hair at a minimum which is probably 18-24 months off hair growth. However you can begin experimenting with different hair ties at a shorter length. I’ve been growing mine for 10 months now and can just about tie it back, however some of the sides are about an inch away from reaching the tie so I have to wax them down.
If you think that you look feminine, then you probably shouldn't do man ban because you're going to feel unconfident, so it's not worth it. But I always tie man bun, just don't care what others think 🤔

I was able to comfortably tie a bun at about 18 months growth, but my hair grows pretty slow. I’m just over three years growing it out currently.
