- I came across a Tiktok recently talking about Saitama vs. Goku. Honestly, it got me thinking about power scaling in general and if Saitama can even be put into that kind of hypothetical situation to begin with.

Ye that's really fitting considering that murata said in one of the interviews when he was asked what would happen if saitama didn't hit the moon?
He simply said:" serious fart or blow in the opposite direction, seems like he is the only one living in a gag world"
The second line here strikes me as if even saitama was put in a deadly or a dangerous situation saitama will always find a way to win and turn tables on opponents and make it a comedy.
I freaking love Murata. The talent there is insane. That's absolutely right though. It's almost like Saitama is Bugs Bunny or a goofy cartoon character in a world of serious stuff going on.

Absolutely. The writing balances comedy and action very well. I never feel like it leans too hard one way or another.
Saitama's story starts as "The strongest Hero".
While Goku was killed/defeated countless times, and is STILL not the strongest in his universe.
Also Superman's goal was to be a hero who's alwas there to answer a call for help. And was also overpowered and/or defeated.
Gag character or not, Saitama is portrayed as a multi-dimentional being, living amongst beings in a single dimention.
It comes across as a "gag" because he's outside of the scope of power.
Remember when Goku was little and was literally immune to bullets and vehicles? That looked literally the same. In DBZ the Z fighters are WAY above the normal human capabilities.
It'd look the same if goku was in One Punch Man.
He'd be the strongest character there. And would be as capable as Saitama is.
There difference is that Saitama sneezed the shit out of Jupiter, while Goku can't breath in space. Unless he's in his God forms. Which is his strongest.
As for Superman, he probably needs a specific type of Sun to power up enough. And still it might not be close to what Garou managed to build up.
That's a solid point tbh. However, the thing that comes to mind is that even as Garou got stronger, Saitama basically just got stronger in response surpassing Garou. I wonder if it would be the same case with Goku? I think you're right that what universe they fight in also has a pretty big impact or even what forms/versions.
There's just a lot of variables that come in to play that make it hard to nail down a straight answer lol although I will say I've usually enjoyed Death Battle videos. I feel like they do a pretty decent job in looking at every angle.

Bruh you do realize Saitama getting 2-3 times stronger is nothing. Broly in Dbs gets millions of time stronger in minutes. Im a huge fan of Opm and Db but, it completely ignorant if you say Saitama wins. Saitama punches stars away, Goku punches macrocosms away. Saitama sneeze and blows the surface of Jupiter, beerus sneeze and obliterates a planet. There is huge power gap. It makes sense, Db has been out for decades,.

I don't think you know what "satirical" means. I think you mean "gag" character and are getting parody and satire confused, but the truth is while Saitama will run gags, he's not a gag character. He's just that powerful. Sure, his story satirizes battle manga, but that doesn't mean he's a gag character. Saitama's powers work well within his story's magic system. His ability is well defined. He doesn't have toon force or anything like that. What's really happening is the upper echelon in the OPM story can control the cosmos. Saitama's power seems to subvert those abilities.
As impressive as beating someone in one punch is, Saitama has never taken damage outside of a gag so he really should be called...

Perfectly said. He can't go up against anyone and the fight is "fair" or a "struggle". His gimmick is that he wins...with one punch. It's comedy and I love it. But people will argue all day for their favorite characters. I love Goku, he is definitely one of my favorites (Itachi is my favorite) But...against Saitama...he loses...because it's a joke...LOL
The Versus Battle community and Goku fanboys refuse to accept that Saitama can't be beat, that's the whole joke.

People should simply stop including saitama into every single battle they can think of, solely because he is a comedic character, he is a parody, he is satire and thus cant be analized with any sort of critical thinking

Saitama is a perfectly set character, no need to train or strengthen himself anymore. Many compare Saitama to the main character who is still in development, assume Goku is the strongest then the story will end, while OPM on the contrary

As long as the match with his opponent goes, hes stacking exponentially stronger with no limit. Gettings stronger until reaches the power of his opponent and surpasses.

Im a harcore dbz fan but i know One punch man will always win against goku for the same reason why goku in blue form coudnt beat Arale, in that one db super episode.
Dragon Ball became boring af , they had good ending with GT and Movie , now they came back to repeat exactly same thing all though dbz is my favorite anime and i always though goku would win until i actually watched OPM and can tell no one can win against saitama because as it was stated he removed his limiters and will grow match and overcome his opponent as it was shown against garou when he was raising with his own strength that gorou copied

If you say Saitama is just a gag or satirical character, I think you are being extremely disingenuous with the story. OPM believe it or not is based on the story of the Egyptian God Osiris, I do not have the time to explain why, if you want to know watch Zhoniin’s vid on it. But the argument that Saitama beats Goku because its funny isnt valid anymore. Even a story of OPM is way more grounded in reality than Dbs. The power scaling over decades has pretty much made Goku unbeatable. Another argument that comes up is that saitama can just increase in power as the fight goes on, but the difference in power is so great it doesnt matter, Goku would just one shot without trying. Saitama getting 2-3 times stronger which is shown on the graph is nothing compared to Broly in Dbs who gets millions of times stronger in minutes. I love OPM and DB and I want to clarify that its just not a fair comparison, years of powerscaling and arcs of surpassing vs OPM’s few arcs. TLDR: Saitama at best can punch away galaxies, Goku at his weakest, at the start of DBS could already punch away the universe and all the macrocosms in said universe. Saitama sneezes and blows the dust off Jupiter, Beerus (weaker than Goku) sneezes and obliterates planets. A more fair fight is Saitama vs Dbz (Buu).
Saitama is a gag character. ONE said it himself.
You'd have to Factor in Saitama durability which also makes this whole thing unfair since Goku would be unable to Damage Saitama due to his Satirical / Parody properties in his writing. Even without the Help of Writing Saitama's Durability would tank Goku's attacks even if Goku were to jump to a higher form. Saitama would be able to hold off due to his Durability and endurance before gradually becoming Stronger than Goku due to his Growth.
In the Cosmic Garou fight There is a graph giving you a visual of Garou and Saitamas powers rising and Saitama out growing Garou. And if you look near the bottom. You can see at one point in time they were on equal footing. And yet Saitama tanked Garou and Garou got slammed later. Why? His insane durability.

Your title, "Why Saitama Can't Be Beat" is false, cause he can easily be beaten by these characters. Goku would struggle the most, but the rest would slam Saitama.

@@swagguy7515 Yes, and I don’t agree with it. Anos can just flick his fingers and Saitama explodes. Wang Ling can do the exact thing, plus change reality, plus a whole bunch of other things. Featherine can just rewrite Saitama’s story. Hajin can do the same as Featherine. Shinra is faster and stronger than saitama, plus more Hax and abilities. Rimuru is kinda like Shinra is except stronger Hax and abilities, and faster and stronger. Zeno and Beerus might lose, but idk. Sung Jinwoo is the concept of death in the LN, and can regenerate, and can have an entire army with most the soldiers being just as strong as Saitama. Anti Spiral ligit throws galaxies for fun, I don’t think saitama doing anything to that. And there are a bunch of other characters I can name that can beat Saitama.
