Wow...what a cool video, Niko. I remember, as a technician working on Volkswagens and Porsches, that the odometer would quit working on some of them. We would pull the speedometer and send it to San Diego Speedo Tach. They were right down the street from us, so it was very convenient to do so. They must have done the same repair that you just detailed. Keep up the great work.

From you video, I understand that it’s not possible to exchange the MPH plate to a Kmh plate? The needle is not possible to remove, right?

Good video, just what I need! What is the part number or part description for the gear you are replacing? Is it the 20x30 teeth or 20x32 teeth or...? I don't want to order the wrong part.

hello TRJ911! No, it is not the 20x30. The 20x30 fits the electronic speedometer found in 911 models 1976-1989. The gear that fits the mechanical speedo is Porsche-Lead Odometer Gear sold by Odometer Gears. Also if you have the plastic gear instead of a brass gear, I recommend installing a new one of those as well. In this video, it has a brass gear, so it was unnecessary to replace both. Only the lead gear was replaced, and it was replaced by a plastic gear. hope this helps! good luck!
