Bf1 for me is super immersive if I really get into the game, commanding my squad, running head first into the front lines spraying the enemy with hundreds of bullets with explosions all around me. I hope bf1 will never die as it’s one of the greatest FPS I have ever played and same for many people.
Bogyrect the problem with bf5(among many) is the fact that it doesn’t and never will have the same feeling as bf1 like with the factions and the bad operations ripoff in bf5 and the small bf5 campaign which is mostly historically inaccurate except for the last tiger, also the maps lack in feeling of all out war like bf1 maps, arras is decent with surrounding fields and a town to fight in but nothing on bf5 will really get as intense as some hallway battles in bf1, also no behemoths or special units(besides reinforcements which are a watered down version of behemoths) also the fact that the new mercury map has no naval aspects, or any map, also the max level is only 50.
My brother was telling me how they were super respectful in b1 with the brutal truth of war and all these young kids fighting in them. In contrast b5 takes real stories and replaces the men with wahmen instead of telling the real stories of wahmen in ww2. Playing b1 you feel scared and heart ache during the campaign or at least I did to some degree. b5 looks like it has no atmosphere. Just another run and gun fps

I actually had a chance to look at some clothing detail in an EXTREME close up during the campaign. I was playing Nordlys, during the final level. sven what?, if anything Bf1 was far more like CoD, in that everyone just sprinted to each objective, in Bf V there is actually some sort of strategy involved and defending flags and holding down choke points are actually important.
hmm interesting is there really a lack of content? I personally think theres more in this game than Bf 1 at launch, for example in Bf V there are more vehicles available and you have more options when it comes to customising there kits. And for infantry I think each class has more guns than their Bf 1 counterparts at launch, Assualt f.e has 8 guns at lauch compared to the 6 in bf1 and they have far more customisability when it comes to specialisations as in bf1 the only changes you could do to guns was give them a aperture sight or a different iron sight. Bf V has 8 maps at launch possibly 9 if you count the new map just released only like 2 weeks in, while Bf 1 has 9 so not mich difference there. So by cokparing it like that Bf V does has quite a lot of content. And its not really fair to compare Bf V to Bf 4 because of the time periods they are set in as in Bf 4 the developers have alot more freedom when it cones to guns they can add, and even then BF 4 only had 10 maps which really isnt that much more then Bf V, not to mention all the dynamic improvements in BF V so I dont understand the complaints about lack of content really.
Lost Montanelas ikr it’s not a question bfv literally has the same level of graphics, but bfv added dynamic grass, snow particles, and reactive water. the same thing but more.
To this day BF1 is THE reference for atmosphere! The colour grading and the overall art design are unbelievable. But what really takes the cake is the sound design. OMG, no other game has such a dense sound scape! The gun shots, the explosions, the vehicles. The voices, screams, shouts, show all the range of emotions soldiers experience during a battle. All that in 6 different languages! One of them is my first language (German) and I speak two others (English and Russian) fluently, and I understand French quite well, and I find the voices in all languages to sound so natural, and they are definitely all spoken by mother tongue speakers who also must have been voice actors. Even when playing on the Turkish side and don't understand a word, I FEEL the intensity, the tension, or fear of the soldier I am playing. And then you get something like BF2042. HOW?!
Such a masterpiece, man! One of my all time favorite games! The atmosphere, visuals, gameplay, amazing animations, immersion, and god tier sound design just makes it an amazing and fantastic overall experience! It just feels so intense and detailed! Not many games come close to its level of experience! I love the big behemoth set pieces too! Makes the world feel vast, huge, expansive, and more realistic to some extent! Love it! 😁🥲👍🏻
Yeah it's just shallow with hardly much to do with minor tweaks and improvements making it okay to be called a new game but the menu UI is fucking stupid
Bf5 has more content on release then any other battlefield ever released yet you people say it lacks "content". You obviously played for 10 minutes and went back to what you are used too. Bf5 is superior in every way.
Good thing this isnt the infantry.. its a video game that exaggerates every aspect of war to make it fun and enjoyable. Hollywood explosions look better in a game like this. Realistic puffs of smoke can stay in military sims instead
@@Nick930 Go take a gander at the effects in every previous Battlefield game, and especially Battlefield 2; the series staked its entire reputation on being the more realistic of the Big Two mainstream combined arms multiplayer shooters. Leave the Hollywood effects to Call of Duty.
@Bryce Moll Hit or miss, I guess they never miss huh? You got a boyfriend I bet he doesn't kiss ya, muah. He gon find another girl and he won't miss ya. He gon skeet and hit the dab like Wiz Khalifa.
I feel like you are more emerged in BF1 than in BF5. I can recall several times where I felt like I where actually there in the battle, especially on the European maps when it was dark, gritty and thick smoke everywhere. It felt like an old tape recording from the time. I have much harder time recalling such experiences in BF5 with its hollywood explosions and bright graphics. The only times I almost get such feelings in BF5 is when it is raining or thre is fog or somthing similar that darkens the setting. Also the new customization in BF5, though fun and all, makes the battle feel more like a Halloween party than a battle between two highly organised armys. It does really ruin the immersion when you see a German soilder runing through the desert in his thickest winter coat
Im Epi eh they feel very different. I’ve played BF1 for hundreds of hours and BFV feels very different. Other than that visually it’s usually filters and higher fidelity.
I liked the “blue filter” and darker version. They give it atmosphere and visually represent the grit and bleakness of war. It’s the same reason war movies don’t have the bright colours of say, guardians of the galaxy. Imagine if Saving Private Ryan was very colourful lol
@@treett4268 Bro, where is the smoke even coming from? If you are on Narvik or Mercury, why should you put tons of darkened skies with excessive amounts of smoke? Has BF1 literally blinded you to what things actually look like outside during war? Take the Iraqian War as well! Do you see tons of black smoke in the sky in the footage? No, cause wars don't filters.
I wish DICE would bring back levelution like BF4, I know in some maps like Lancang Dam it made the map worse, but with how the frostbite engine is now I feel like it could be a lot more dynamic. Like (using Shanghai as an example) if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left. I think the massive map changes made BF4 really cool and I hope they would bring it back to new battlefield titles.
The levolution on Lacang Dam did barely anything to change the map. Siege of Shanghai though was ruined when the skyscraper was taken down as the best fights occurred up there. Of course this is already somewhat ruined when DICE decided it was a good idea to allow attack helicopters on a map with lots of cover without any effective counter like anti-air.
" if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left." Thats NOT levolution, thats a more dinamic destruction... Levolution was just the same instanced destruction always seen but on big/iconical unpractical elements of the maps
Can't believe you didn't mention the curtains in BF5 building's blowing inwards or outwards depending on the direction of the explosion. One of my favorite effects.
Basically BF1 was aimed for a realistic and casual gameplay to enjoy with super long TTK, BFV was aimed to be competitive again, feels more arcade, more CoD style play with the new Super fast TTK like old BFs, while BO4 has new super slow TTK which everyone is hating over there they will like BFV i bet because of the fast TTK that they are used to
İts amazing some old grandfathers play bf1 and enjoys i think its about the faction it feels more world wide game. Many of bf1 game elements ripped off movie called desert lion which is old dude times 1980movie.

Battlefield V's atmosphere.... just looks like it wants to be like Fortnite.

BF1 clearly the winner, It fits the "world war" atmosphere but BFV in the other hand... the visual and atmosphere felt like Call of Duty AKA felt too Arcade-y
I have 30 hours on this game and I just don’t Find it fun. There is nothing there for me to earn through playing the game. In bf1, BF4, and bf3 I played because I wanted this Gun or I wanted to attain a rank, but in bfV I don’t care for any of that. Idk why but it’s just not fun.

@@mikey-nm3od I find bfv a lot of fun, but bf1 is definitely a superior game, even at launch which is where bfv still is. Heard that DICE is thinking about reworking the TTK for Bfv so they are trying to really change the game for some fans
I love BF5 graphics its almost like therapy to watch them. I have been killed many times in game just watching the scenery. Best graphics i have ever seen.
the improvements in movement, and types of things you can do (both yourself and when watching other players) is an enormous step up from BF1. the only thing BF1 seemed better with was the smoke/dust from explosives lasting longer - but maybe that just partially has to do with where it was tested.
My opinion on sound design. BF1 had better gun (shooting) sounds but the reloads and other sounds on the guns sound better on BFV. BFV has drastically better explosion sounds I was genuinely suprised when I got into a narvik match in the BFV BETA, I really felt like I was there when the AA guns were trying to shoot the plane down. I also prefer BF1 running sound for the metal clatter on your person.
Bf1 immersion is just a lot better. Everything looks so movie like and soldiers, weapons and atmosphere look more robust. The sounds and screams are so powerful with deep impact, kinda like I would imagine being there. Bf1 is just pure war atmosphere. Bf1 has it's technical problems, but in all around feel its so good.
What bothers me the most about these comments is everyone complaining about how unrealistic BF5 is because it's "too colorful" Just because Steven Spielberg made everything grey in Saving Private Ryan doesn't mean that WW2 actually looked like that And don't give me the "It's because the smoke and the smog caused by the machines of war" argument because it's not true. It doesn't work like that.

Explosions look more like star wars in bfv vs bf1
And they already looked like Star Wars in BF1. I thought it couldn't get ant worse.
It's like battlefront.
Indeed Battlefront, even star wars explosions look more reallistic.
Because they reused the assets from battlefront
Grenade explosions and TNT explosions aren't meant to be that fiery, unless they're incendiary.
Nick930 - showing battlefield 5 is good in every aspect
people in comments - Battlefield 1 is better than battlefield 5
Nick 930 - Am I joke to you
Doesn't matter what you tell people, if they all already hate battlefield V, they will continue to hate it. Shame, it's a great game. Just finished another great night of "Grand Operations"
@Joe Arguin yeah me and my group are loving it. Feels way more competitive than bf1
Nick930 you mean it feels way more like COD? Seriously. Wanna play COD? Buy BF5 . Want a BR ? Buy COD . Want BF? Stick to BF1... this all from my viewpoint and what i noticed, but thats just what im trying to say. Not that BF5 is bad , it just isnt BF anymore imo.
sven what?, if anything Bf1 was far more like CoD, in that everyone just sprinted to each objective, in Bf V there is actually some sort of strategy involved and defending flags and holding down choke points are actually important.
hmm interesting is there really a lack of content?
Idk why but I preffer Battlefield 1 graphics
You mean aesthetics*
Lost Montanelas ikr it’s not a question bfv literally has the same level of graphics, but bfv added dynamic grass, snow particles, and reactive water. the same thing but more.
Yeah it looks more like a world war game
I think because BF:V is more colorful which hurts the immersion of the game. BF1 feels more like an actual war
MuscledRMH This is sent in early war
Love it! 😁🥲👍🏻
I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t get the war feeling that I would get from bf1. But bf5 is still a good game and I don’t really hate
Yeah it's just shallow with hardly much to do with minor tweaks and improvements making it okay to be called a new game but the menu UI is fucking stupid
@@faderneslandet3489 too true. Idk why you have two men and two women
Bf5 has more content on release then any other battlefield ever released yet you people say it lacks "content". You obviously played for 10 minutes and went back to what you are used too. Bf5 is superior in every way.
@@dayumgirlRS is it I find battlefield 1 more enjoyable I also loved the campaign
I actually enjoy bf5!
I was in the infantry and can say that grenade explosions have zero fire. It’s just a huge thump and a bunch of dust kicked up
Good thing this isnt the infantry.. its a video game that exaggerates every aspect of war to make it fun and enjoyable. Hollywood explosions look better in a game like this. Realistic puffs of smoke can stay in military sims instead
@@Nick930 Well yes but BF 1 is more realistic then.
The fire only happens when there is something to combust
@@Nick930 wow, you really just threw away a sub with your ignorant comment.
Btw, isn’t realism what these games are after?
@@Nick930 Go take a gander at the effects in every previous Battlefield game, and especially Battlefield 2; the series staked its entire reputation on being the more realistic of the Big Two mainstream combined arms multiplayer shooters. Leave the Hollywood effects to Call of Duty.

Nothing more satisfying than getting a headshot with the Martini Henry in BF1
Even if you get that 90 damage body shot, finishing them with the Kolibri is always amusing
We loved BF1 so much more because the darkness added the correct tone.

Its like BF3 is blue filtered version of BF4, but BF1 is darker version of BFV
Im Epi eh they feel very different. I’ve played BF1 for hundreds of hours and BFV feels very different. Other than that visually it’s usually filters and higher fidelity.
I liked the “blue filter” and darker version. They give it atmosphere and visually represent the grit and bleakness of war. It’s the same reason war movies don’t have the bright colours of say, guardians of the galaxy. Imagine if Saving Private Ryan was very colourful lol
Bf3 looked better tho
Everything in BFV is too clean and vibrant and contrasting, like its a really toned down acid trip or something.
The sun existed in WW2 you know that right
@@enjoi9970 yeah but where's the fun of the lack of immersiveness
would you rather play with downgraded graphics? bf5 is more realistic war doesn’t put a dark filter on the environment
@@Dabpss I think its still immersive
@@treett4268 Bro, where is the smoke even coming from? If you are on Narvik or Mercury, why should you put tons of darkened skies with excessive amounts of smoke? Has BF1 literally blinded you to what things actually look like outside during war? Take the Iraqian War as well! Do you see tons of black smoke in the sky in the footage? No, cause wars don't filters.
In a fps, the characters extremities and weapon deatil/graphics are so important for the feel. And bf1 is twice as good in that department imo..
This
I wish DICE would bring back levelution like BF4, I know in some maps like Lancang Dam it made the map worse, but with how the frostbite engine is now I feel like it could be a lot more dynamic. Like (using Shanghai as an example) if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left. I think the massive map changes made BF4 really cool and I hope they would bring it back to new battlefield titles.
I agree full on
Bf1 had kinda levolution with the Airships. Damn I miss behemoths
" if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left."
Thats NOT levolution, thats a more dinamic destruction... Levolution was just the same instanced destruction always seen but on big/iconical unpractical elements of the maps
Levelution was just a marketing thing its not important for gameplay
Having played both now. Battlefield 1 is far superior. Especially the campaign.
They are both great games!! Be happy dice is putting in effort to provide us with great graphical and realistically war games.
Conclusion: both are better than battlefield 2042.

I don’t really care about the whole debacle that happened before launch, I find BF1 to be the better game. It just feels like a bigger and better game.
Gameplay wise it’s very casual and not as replayable. It caters to players who aren’t as good at FPS games.
@@enjoi9970 You think so? I can replay it forever, it’s so addicting and fun. Both are low level FPS games but I think BF1 wins in fun and BFV in gameplay (more mechanics, smoother experience etc)
I'd love to see the more realistic explosions from BF1 in BF5. They made me feel more like in an actual battle.
Prefer battlefield 1 looks like a war is actually taking place bfv on the other hand idk wtf going on looks dull in comparison
Bigger maps is likely the reason. Which is a good thing.

How does bfv look dull? Are you crazy?
If only the historical accuracy was as good as the graphics
So you want the game to change to become more boring not saying the game is boring
No flying tanks
No body under the floor
Those sound like a nightmare
Bailey Harris You’re not getting the point.
I know but it is boring if it had accuracy as it would be like every other ww2 game, it would be cool to have a multiplayer d-day.
Historical accuracy shouldnt come before fun
1:50 Battlefield 1's lighting is darker than Battlefield V is because thats the atmosphere in a warzone. Mud, a lot of smoke gritty, dark and destroyed trees. And yes, BFV is more brighter and more beautiful and I love that feature. But when compared to Battlefield 1's atmosphere it looks like an actual battlefield and a warzone. Battlefield V's atmosphere.... just looks like it wants to be like Fortnite.
I actually like 1's darkness and dullness, fits with the theme better
good improvements, but still doesnt feel like ww2
How do you know WW2 feels?
You fought in WW2? Shithead.

I absolutely hate how bright and and colorful BF5 is. It’s WW2, it was a dark time
GingWITHaSoul ok the it was a "dark time" meaning it was a bad and scary time. it doesnt mean lighting
BF1 clearly the winner, It fits the "world war" atmosphere

There are a lot less guns in BF5 and none of them have the varied unlock requirements like the guns in BF1
10 minutes of hearing bf V looks better

i mean you cant argue that BFV definitely has some visual upgrades, though BF1 is probably the better overall game at this point. im not a huge battlefield fanboy and only bought BFV because the DLC is suppose to be free. i like the game for the most part, the map that has the grass fields and swamp is amazing

IMO. BFV has still the Best graphics than RDR2
the improvements in movement, and types of things you can do (both yourself and when watching other players) is an enormous step up from BF1. the only thing BF1 seemed better with was the smoke/dust from explosives lasting longer - but maybe that just partially has to do with where it was tested.
Keep it up nick love this channel
My opinion on sound design.
BF1 had better gun (shooting) sounds but the reloads and other sounds on the guns sound better on BFV. BFV has drastically better explosion sounds I was genuinely suprised when I got into a narvik match in the BFV BETA, I really felt like I was there when the AA guns were trying to shoot the plane down. I also prefer BF1 running sound for the metal clatter on your person.
ST3FF3 in bfv they recorded the actual guns for sounds so that is how they sound in real life
Bf1 had great graphics for its time

BF5 explosions jump scare me, they sound so incredibly real!

Started playing 5 about 3 weeks ago and I’m very much enjoying it. It’s terrible that it got so much hate.
Some people prefer older games because they made memories there, BF1 is just too overrated
What bothers me the most about these comments is everyone complaining about how unrealistic BF5 is because it's "too colorful"
Just because Steven Spielberg made everything grey in Saving Private Ryan doesn't mean that WW2 actually looked like that
And don't give me the "It's because the smoke and the smog caused by the machines of war" argument because it's not true. It doesn't work like that.
In BF1 you can hear rubble falling back down from a dynamite explosion but in BF5 you can’t so much
