Wondering how to fix jerky throttle response while standing on the pegs of your dirt bike in the woods? Trail riding is a lot more frustrating when you get exhausted, but it's scary when you can't keep the throttle in control in a tight trail section with lots of trees - one little twist of the wrist and you're smashed into a tree!
In this video, you're going to learn:
-Why practicing smooth throttle control on a dirt bike isn't enough to prevent whiskey throttle or feeling jerked when getting bounced around
-2 simple steps to fix jerky throttle so that you don't get fatigued or smash into a tree

Does your throttle feel jerky/snappy and hard to control while standing in the woods?

I put a finger or two on the brake lever to stable and have more control of the thoutle. I can pull the front brake without having to reach for it as well.
Hey dale, thanks for sharing! So are you saying that having a finger on the front brake gives you better control of the throttle?
@@MotocrossHideout makes it easier to maintain the throttle position for me but I'm not expert.
I do the same!! Dirtbike throttles are suuuuuper sensitive compared to other types of motorcycles so keeping your index finger on the front brake lever helps keep your whole hand (wrist) stable and your throttle control will be much smoother
Gotcha, yeah that makes sense to me. What about if you accidentally give it too much gas or happen to get bounced back towards the rear of the bike and can't reach the front brake in time?
@@MotocrossHideout I guess I would hold on tight and try to ride it out. My bike is really only jerky in first gear on the edge of giving it gas and letting off the gas. Sometimes I ride slow in second gear and let it bog a little to get rid of the jerkiness. I watch your videos and try everything you say as well. I think you are an awesome teacher. Please keep the videos coming.
