      You are lucky and take good care of this machine, it will give you many years good service. I know it is not the biggest and fastest snowblower, trust me it is much easier to use it, I sold my Honda HS928 and kept HS622.

    I have an HS622 that I bought for $300 from a garage sale. Its a little beast! If yours starts to leak change the axle seals.

    I just happen to be in my garage going over all of my equipment for the Spring and I'm just In awe of the craftsmanship of the Honda equipment that I do own.
    Yes! A Honda two stage is at the top of my 2014 list of new equipment to purchase.
    Thanks!!

      It does cost more than any other brand snowblower. But it will give you many years reliable service. Beside oil change, I do lubricate the auger shafts yearly. I do not push my snowblower to its limits, I use low gears for heavy snow . Listen the the engine sound, and do not overload it. I usually empty the gas tank after the snow season is over, so I have no trouble to start engine for next winter.

      erguy6319 Yes! You absolutely have to care for all of your equipment and in turn it will take care of you. I don't mind paying extra for equipment that is top quality so that I don't have to buy it over and over again. Take care my friend!

      Gerald Thomas We have the same opinions about top quality thing. Actually when you break down the cost by years, you really do not pay more, plus you are a much happy person and much less frustrate than buy cheap junks. You take care too.

      Hope you can find one. Fortunately some owners do not care about those unique features, sell them just as a small snow blowers.

    Nice little machine. Thanks for the video. I never realize that the HS622 ran off of a clutch and not belts. I learned something new today.
    I have that machines bigger and much older brother the HS80. I love my Honda blower...!

      Thanks. It is a very nice machine. Honda really put some thoughts into this machine, from clutch driving to unique one hand control. I hope it will last another 15 years. Funny thing is I have HS80 with track drive too. Still starts up in 1-2 pulls and throw a lots snow. I did replaced the belts once.

    My sister has this model HS622 which is almost 6HP , it do clog up in deep wet snow. I have the 9HP Honda and it can take a lot more, and never clogs up.
    If you live in a snow belt area I would go with the 9HP.
    Both machines are very reliable but depending how deep you get the snow depend on what machine you should buy. Some people think because it is a Honda they don't need to buy a bigger machine.
    PS: I live in Corner Brook , Newfoundland, Canada.We receives an average snowfall equivalent to 16 feet (4.87 metres) each winter.

      In Cleveland we average have snowfall about 100 inch a year. So far this blower did a good job. Though sometimes I have to blow the snow twice a day when snow is heavy.

      +LeabKnott Hi; I had the same problem with my HS622 but followed instructions on Google and added rubber end to impeller. Now , it doesn't clog and blows snow up to 50 ft.

      Just took it out the shed for Cleveland's winter, started in one pull and engine ran very smooth. I really wish Honda will make one with 8-9 HP and 26 inch cut with the same design, and one more faster speed, uses clutch instead of belt. And sell them for $1200. I know I Know I am dreaming.

      @@erguy6319 Amen Brother. Mine is 25 years old. Nothing but the axle seals leak problem. Done one need to do the other. Wish they made a bigger one of same design. Don't want hst or belts. Only oil changes. Carb has not been touched. Original plug has never been out. Like new condition. Some years heavy use then some like this year, no snow at all yet.

    I had that same snow blower, purchased it new around 2000-2001 from Home Depot. I absolutely HATED it. Reason being is even in 2nd gear the thing was extremely slow paced. Sold the snowblower back in like 2004

    • @erguy6319
      @erguy6319  9 лет назад +1

      Speed is not the strong point of this snowblower, in fact it is not the strong point for most snowblower. Some snow lowers have higher speed, but to matching the job load and speed is important to have a longer life on the engine or the belts. I used to have a two wheel Gravely with dog eater snowblower attached. That beast was unstoppable and fast, if I can get it started. Even though the Gravely was rate 6 hp, but the huge torque makes a huge difference.

  • @erguy6319
    @erguy6319  9 лет назад

    So far so good. no leaking yet. hopefully it is not too hard to change the seals. I think I used it average about 40 hrs a year. after stored whole 9 months, it always starts 1-2 pulls. I do fore it up 2-3 times in between for 15-20 minutes at moderate engine speed.

      Haha, is there any other better place than Cleveland to have the snow to blow? My bro! Actually I used to have an old Gravely walk behind tractor with 26 inch dog eater snow blower, that thing is the beast , will chew any thing in pieces and throw them 30 ft away. The only problem was it was pretty moody, some day it refused to work, just like my alcoholic brother in law.

    Hi I live in Canada too (Quebec 🥶) and just ordered the HSS622CDT1 model. 1st year with a snowblower since I got rid of the company ripping me off to clear my driveway (but saving me a lot of time tho). What do you think of my model? Thanks in advance

    • @erguy6319

      Congrats for your new Honda, My machine is about 20 years old, beside oil changes and replace the skid shoes, it still works great ( just used yesterday for the first snow storm in Cleveland). I think you get a great machine, it is not a fast and most powerful snowblower, but it is very easy to handle. I sold HS928 and kept this one many years ago. If you put in the Stabil gas treatment or drained the gas tank during the off season, you will not have any problem with the carburetor. I wish Honda still sell this clutch driving for both track and auger snowblower in the USA.

    I live in Canada so we get a lot of snow. I was looking at the HSS724, but transmission problems some seem to get worries me. So I'm looking at this little snowblower which seems very reliable. Is it enough for the biggest snowstorms even if it takes more time than a more powerful machine? And how about the end of driveway pile up?Thanks.

    • @erguy6319
      @erguy6319  10 месяцев назад +1

      I live in Cleveland, Ohio and this snowblower handles the snow storms well. I usually go out to get the snow cleaned when it reaches 10-12 inches. It will not handle the slushy snow well just like the most snowblowers. The end of the driveway is not the problem since the snowblower can climb the snow pile easily so I will get rid of the snow by layers. Not good to break the thick ice built up. I think the older HS55 doing better job for the ice since it has teeth on its augers, and has 3 positions for snow / ice. I still have the HS622 (two of them) and have no intention to buy any bigger or new one. Hope my input helps.

    I have a Honda HS622 Snowblower. The shear bolt is gone from the (from the front) right auger and the holes in the auger and the shaft do not align, side to side, so that a bolt will not fit through. A finish nail or wire will go through. It looks as if the auger needs to slide 1/4" toward the center but can't because the edge of the auger shaft hits the (black plastic) side of the gear case. Nothing looks to be bent or out of place in the auger housing. It was working fine just recently.
    Do you have suggestions on how I can align the holes on the auger shaft to allow for a new bolt?
    The right auger has two places for shear bolts, though only one could be used at a time because they are a 90 degree rotation from one another. Both holes have the same lack of clearance for a bolt.
    The left auger only has one place for a shear bolt.
    While operating, the left auger spins and works fine and the right does not. There is no rattle, vibration, or anything to indicate that something is out of line.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

      @erguy6319  9 лет назад

      If it is me, I will use a bigger nail and gently tap it into the small hole which you can pass the finish nail to see whether it will align up.

    • @erguy6319
      @erguy6319  Год назад

      With current inflation rate, if you find one for $5-600, you should buy it if it is in good working condition. A little surface rust is not problem. I will not pay $600 to buy any new snow blowers today. They are totally junks.
