It's funny because she wasn't my first character at all. It was between Asuka & Dragunov for me. I played Josie on the side, but I put more dedicated time into her when I made her my tourney character by the time 2019. (She felt better for me)
It’s honestly insulting at this point that Anna has been relegated to a DLC character seeing as she’s been here since DAY ONE. I hope they’re giving some respect to her name and overhauling her and not just forgetting her like in Tekken 4
I do feel sorry for the fandom. T7 is my first TK game so it was my first time seeing the character. (T6 being my training ground for legacy characters + context). Considering TK8's theme of embracing character relationships, it would make sense to present Anna with Nina. At least your fandom hasn't been slandered for 9 years for simply exisiting in the game because new fans got to experience TK at the cost of your fav char. The joke edits speak for themselves.
I've been so worried she won't make it and they'll leave her out like T4, that I'm honestly just hoping she'll at least be in the game, DLC or otherwise. :( I don't play anyone else.
She'd be powerful dlc from a business lense. I do have a T6 training guide to build your battle experience so you don't feel required to play just 1 char. I'd think that she would be back overall given char relationships being integral to the game.
Anna brings alot of fun energy to the series without being annoying. I think we need to see what happens with her because she has been in the game since day one, she deserves the respect.
Dlc culture, probably. In application to that, I'm not sure cause I don't own these characters, nor do I dictate how they're applied. I'll also say that everyone has a preference or distaste for any character. What maybe appealing with Anna to you might also be what Bruce stan/Josie vid hate watcher number 265 might despise about her & more. (I do agree that she deserves better)
Actually, it had me a bit relieved cause Josie was almost considered as a leak for the TWT finals last year (If you Remember that YT image) I didn't dignify it because it felt premature, but I was a bit concerned for the TK team in that case cause their roster was already leaked by that point. I never dismissed Eddy & will still say that Josie is likely for the game. Prob season 2 if I guessed since we have a clear idea of the T8 S1 roster, TK7 S2 was highlighted with the powerhouse attractions to compensate for S1's lacking content & you could argue that FG devs are proactive in how they structure their life cycle/ chars.
Agreed. I'd say her chances would be real all around. I'd say she's the "Silver The Hedgehog" of the newer TK7 era characters. Dlc would do her justice.
Kuma and Azucena are both perfect rivals. The former, due to their previous encounter, has the potential of Kuma helping Josie toughen up a bit, and Josie in return, is a sensitive girl who could help Kuma grieve Heihachi’s death, as going by his bio, Kuma seems in complete denial over the absense of his adoptive father. On the other hand, Azucena’s happy-go-lucky attitude and fearless mentality is another way Josie could toughen up mentally as a fighter, and come out of her shell a bit. They’re both models, so perhaps they’ve met offscreen during the six-month timeframe?
Appreciate it! I had fun thinking about the character interactions & you took the words right out of my mouth. Character interactions are too integral & Josie being a dlc char candidate enhances that value.
Apologies if I damaged any potential investment. For the longest time I was aware of the Evo discussion but never personally dignified it. I naturally figured that the PH demographic would be supportive enough to get a sequel return, + her above average project utility. (Josie fans are a natural bonus) Open to address the matter.
From what it looks like? Multiple seasons are not a new thing at all if we refer to TK7. I'm still fairly confident since there has been more demand for Josie as of recently that doesn't revolve around harassing the TK team like other fanbases (Fanart to specify. Cosplay culture is a good alternative)
Pretty sure that leak is fake. Considering the established number of DLC chars in the seasonal structure yet that leak presents more than 4 chars. The alternative 4 char German leak also sharing a Kangaroo costume pack, yet there's an established structure for costumes/ Avatar Skins for the Deluxe + Ultimate that contradict the "leaked" info Also doesn't help how the Josie/Anna teasers have their own specific patterns in how they present themselves: Spring/Winter May/Jan Char references that acknowledge established lore or characteristics that merge with the teased char in context.
If Josie is coming back then I want the devs to fix her language to be more native with her fighting style to be more closer to the Kali/Eskrima and not just rip or recycled moves from Bruce 😁.
Agreed. That would be the point of UE5. Older TK characters didn't speak their native tounge immediately (Miguel, Leo & Lili). Josie would be the first to experience that by dlc standards & follow up with that glowup formula that Zafina, Julia & Kuni experienced in TK7.
I wouldn't be surprised if she practiced Yaw Yan since that's a bit closer to Kickboxing from my understanding? Her story establishes her practicing kickboxing already, but there's no elaboration on that.
Reina doesn't wear jewelry, unlike Josie, who wears the most for T7 era girls & I doubt they'd add an exclusive billboard for Reina without capitalizing on the full design of the character. (That's like having a statue of Leroy in the NY stage, but you purposely leave out the head from the actual design for the sake of wanting to wait till EVO japan to reveal him.)
I haven't played Tag 2, so I can't appreciate Forest like most people. I heard some people have said that his moveset has been reanimated towards T8 Marshall, but I'm probably wrong on that? (Wouldn't be unrealistic given the current convos of Azu & Victor now)

Normal people don't like that in a fighting game, unless you're using a troll character, but that's niche. But, if Zafina could be redeemed, why not Josie?... Also, all these theories don't really make sense. Doesn't Ganryu have his burger business, or something? In his case, his damage is done. Again, no one likes a mentally weak character... like Ganryu, who has an unhealthy obsession with Julia that breaks the entire character for most people. Just a bad, unfunny joke. But, I'm sure we'll continue to his Ganryu's business in the Tekken series. Tekken 8 and beyond.
TK is about as campy as you can get with the characters, though I do agree to some extent in how that hurts them. Newer characters especially, but I can tolerate the crying cause the character does have variety in her other winposes & her core storyline in how it establishes attempting progression from that fear. The endings flop it, so more salt in the wound. Bob was the one with Burger ref. That's a running gag in how the TK team always references his movelist with food names because Bob is an American joke character. (No month / season to support the significance, tho I personally wouldn't dismiss him entirely.) Really, though after learning more Anna's char, story content & already knowing about Josie's backstory/char, they wouldn't put so much of a visual focus on their respective characteristics/storylines with a specific month/ a specific season if it wasn't for a reason. TK team are the ones with the creative vision for the stages & characters first & foremost (the Leroy stage being the founder of the TK8 easter eggs that started to later be represented in other stages) Meaning that they'd want use chars for later in their new game's lifespan post launch ( they wouldn't announce DLC if they didn't already have an idea as to who they'd want to use for the future).
Also, the majority rules with how the TK team has used Josie's char externally. I'm not the target market despite liking the char; that goes to the PH demographic & they have shared similar criticisms, but with a highly consistent presence of supporting the char for 9 years, hence why Josie has seen that acknowledgement from BN's viewpoint
@@NapBlack No, I'm talking about Chanko Paradise, which is Ganryu's brand, and a chain restaurant. We'll continue to see Chanko Paradise restaurant advertising in the Tekken series, but that doesn't mean we'll see Ganryu. That is my point with the Josie stuff. However, like I also said, if Zafina can have a turn-around, so can Josie. But don't look at in-game advertising as proof of her return.
@Burning_Typhoon Then that's on the TK team to make that decision. If they didn't add any more subtle details towards his established stuff & not try to have fun with their established dlc structure, then that's on them to not use him in that case (char interactions are important now too & he would need Julia to function) Alternatively, they didn't need to do anything with Anna's char & just save her for dlc since she has no official modelling/actress background as a job. They went above & beyond in adding established Anna themed details & subtle external content that ties to what they've already setup/planned which they didn't have to do either at all. They went above & beyond in adding established Anna themed details & subtle external content that ties to what they've already setup/planned which they didn't have to do either at all. (Only enhances the value of their intentions & having that content exclusively swap for Josie's content, in addition to their future plans being there as well)
