I'm 72, have been seriously riding for last 35 years. Traditional mountain bike on and off road. Purchased this exact bike in August. Now have 650 miles on it. Absolutely love it! Aventon has nailed it, trouble free, looks great and is well made. It just gobbles up terrain, asphalt, gravel, grass, etc. Extremely comfortable. A solid bike.
Excellent review, your the first reviewer to mention the smaller frame size and being 5ft 11 vs the suspension seat post I would have gone with the larger frame but now I don't think I need to and that will allow my wife at 5ft 1 to enjoy the bike as well I appreciate that keep up the good work
He is wrong when he says it goes to 5ft 7 it doesn't, it goes to 5ft 10. I wouldn't go with smaller model as it only goes up to 5ft 10 which is top end limit for 5ft 10. This reviewer is far to big for this regular model. His knees are nearly touching the handle bars. I would go for the larger model that starts at 5ft 10 and goes to 6ft 1. He will end up getting stiff knees riding this model.
Terrific review. Like the conversational format. Loaded with useful info. It does have a single trip odometer. To access it hold the left and right arrow keys down together. It brings up two trip odometers. The complete most recent ride and #2 the distance traveled since your last stop. Thanks again for an excellent review.
Best review of this bike I’ve seen so far. Concise and to the point without useless rambling. You’re easily my favorite reviewer. Buying 2 Level 2 bikes for me and the wife. Daughter and son in law are getting our Pace 350s. Now the whole family is going riding together. 😊
I bought two of these six months ago … we could not love them more than we do!! Super capable and comfortable. We are using these three to four times a week!!
I think this bike will be a huge success for Aventon. A 1899$ fat bike combined with these components and especially with the torque sensor, thats just nice. One of the most beautiful bikes I saw on your channel till today. If they would sell this in Europe, I would buy it today.
Great Review, I plan on purchasing this bike, Aventon Aventure 2, I'm much heavier than you, 295 lbs, but this bikes weight-load is up to 400 lbs. Speed is not important for me, I just need a solid strong bike with pedal assist to help me exercise in loosing weight as I ride!
Same here, because of my weight I'm not worried about fast speeds, all I want to make sure is to buy something that gives me the confidence is not going to break on my because I'm too heavy 😂
@@DanielWalker-o4uI’m glad to hear this. I’m 6’5” and weigh 370! Mine comes today. Don’t care about speed or range at this point. Want to exercise and continue losing weight. I know the range will improve as I get lighter!!
Great review and review style. Also thank you for showing and talking about your wife on the bike, as a woman around her size, this was really helpful. Most of the reviews I could find come from average to tall men and yours is the first that gave consideration to size difference between riders. Cheers!
I agree with Marc: terrific review of this eBike and done with such a comfortable, layman’s manner. You covered everything with such clarity and frankness and honesty. I just purchased this bike and am awaiting delivery. Your video is a perfect tutorial. Thank you for being so thorough and for heightening my own anticipation for this new riding experience. Great job!!!😊
Nice choice Paul. I hope you put a lot of fun miles on it. Now that they added the second seatstay light on the right side with turn signals it made the best looking fat tire bike even prettier.
Your videos are excellent. This will be my first electric bike after a long exhaustive search. The local support I get from all the Aventon trained techs out here was too hard to pass up.....i think in time I will purchase a Wired Freedom but for now the Aventon Aventure offers me the exercise I sorely need. Happy Biking brother!
Very nicely done video - thanks for taking the time to put it together. You’re the only RUclips reviewer that I’ve seen suggest getting the smaller size step through frame and the real world observation about significant drop off in power as battery level declines below 25% is also very helpful to know. I’m looking at getting an Aventure, but it sounds like the original version will be a better choice for me to allow cruising + commuting at a fast pace with minimal effort. I’ll probably get a second battery and just strap it onto the rack. If I want a real workout then I’ll just ride a regular bike.
it's good to see Aventon add a torque sensor, i think that's the future of ebike power delivery. Very interesting and useful to see how the throttle power ramps up slower, but you can pedal hard to take off faster. It would be cool if they let you program the throttle power ramp in the app or something. Great Review I enjoyed it.
@@360woodierc excellent point! my father brought that up when he rode it, But I had already chopped it out of my video when editing. Should have left it in because that is definitely one of the dangers of cadence sensors.
@@360woodierc the future has been here for some time now. Juiced ebikes have both types of sensors installed on their ebikes so you can choose which you want to use at any given time.
Another great review thank you.! I definitely like that color blue. They need to up their game and put a 20 amp hour battery on the bike. That would put them on par with magic cycle and Himiway. I am not a fan of the torque sensor. I do not want to peddle harder on my e-bike. That is why I have an e-bike. To each their own. Good job on the review. Keep them coming to please. Thank you
I commute early in the morning and travel in the dark and definitely loving the brake lights and blinker.i have the first addition looking forward to the 2.0.
Great video. I have an Aventure and just today received an Aventure2 for my wife. It's basically the same, but several subtle differences and improvements. Both are amazing!
Unless they did something really different on this version The difference between the small and the regular size bike is just the height of the seat tube. When I was looking to buy the original, I was on their website comparing the small and the regular frame dimensions and they were identical in dimensions except for the height of the seat post tube. That is, where it comes from the bottom of the frame and goes up and meets the upper rear suspension arms. The only thing that was the difference was the seat tube above that was shorter at that point but everything else was the same as the full size. I sent them an email asking about this and they said I was correct in my observation.. You lower the seat post tube height above where the rear arms connect, cut it down, that lowers the possible seat height and it's easier for smaller people to get on and reach the pedals, but it's still The regular sized big bike frame except for the shorter seat post tube. That's the way it was on the original anyway
I just got the Aventure.2 for my birthday, I ordered it on March 2(my birthday) I got the bike on March 4, yep 2 days later. That blew me away, it was so much faster than when I bought the Aventure.1, I ordered it on April 2, 2021, I took delivery on June 10, so I was expecting to wait two months when I ordered it, but got it in two days. Hats off to the Aventon team. There is a couple things I didn't like, 1 was having to use the app to increase speed to class 3, 2 I couldn't find a way outside the app to turn on lights. I do love the turn signals. Ride on! 😎
I just received mine and been on 2 good rides. Love the bike, love it's response when on hills, grassy areas, etc. I also found that I did use the throttle as much as I thought I would. I really like that I get to use my power as much and as often as I want, but can get lazy and let the bike take over when I want.
LOVE THE REVIEW. You gave a different perspective about the size of the bike among other items you covered. I loved it and subscribed. I plan to show it to my wife too!
Great review. I'm 61 and shopping ebikes. Still "reasonably" fit enough to want my bike ride to be a workout also. I'm starting to believe the Torque sensor will be a better fitness option.
Very good review. If you double press the left and right turn signal at the same time it will give you the trip screen. Looking forward to your next review.
Awesome review. Love the quality. I need a short bike for the girls here.😁 Battery a little small . The torque sensor is huge. Thank you for covering that so well. It really explains how it works. Big plus for me... Keep up the great work..

Excellent clear and honest review. This may be the best overall ebike in 2023. Comfortable, fast, flexible, long range, upright position, strong safety features, excellent end user support ✅ What do you think are it’s top weaknesses and it’s best competitor? Aventon Suspension seat post advantages?
Nice bike. Great review. I'm glad you mentioned the look. I think Aventon deserves credit for their exceptional frame finishing. The bike just needs one more setting beyond "turbo" that would be the off road mode with no throttle limit at 20mph.
The fit and finish of their bikes is definitely far above average and yes I agree I would love to remove that 20 mile per hour governor on the throttle.
Your channel is the best 👍👍. Great review. All it needs is 4-way flashers and I can become an emergency vehicle.. lol. Thank you sir great as always 😊👍👍🍺
Always enjoy your reviews. I bought the Aventure 1 bike and enjoy it but my two big disappointments are it's sluggish cadence sensor (also mine is inconsistent in the delay). my 2nd complaint is ghost pedaling at higher speeds. I ended up putting on a bigger chain ring which helps, but I had to lose the chain guards. It sounds like Aventon has addressed both of my issues which is great. Wish they offered a conversion kit to make mine a torque drive.
Thanks Ron! I really enjoyed the original Aventure bike this one has some great upgrades. I wish they would have made the battery slightly larger though I think folks are really starting to look for bigger batteries.
Same issue.. Looking for my wife. 5'3" on good day.. Know the height looks OK, but, not sure about the ride position.. She likes be upright.. Don't see handlebar adjustment?! And she's used to the cruiser bars that come back towards rider.. These look more like mountain bike. I'm stuck between this, the level 2 and because of your video now the magicycle ocelot pro... Ugh.. Killer trying decide
Thank you. I'm 6 foot as well though i have a shorter inseam for my size. You convinced me I should go with the regular size step through instead if the large since I will also be getting a suspension seat post. Not sure if the difference between the regular and large is just the seat post or if it's the receiving tube on the frame itself.
Thanks for the size review. I am a short rider and was considering the Abound but 81lbs seems like too much to carry up four flights of stairs after work. 77lbs minus the battery sounds easier and it seems this bike has everything it needs.
One thing that should be mentioned is the welds. You can tell when a manufacturer really pays close attention to detail when they have super smooth welds (I'm a first generation Aventon Level owner), craftmanship. Should also add that it is not common for the majority of bike manufacturers to use automotive metalic-flake paint which is what my Aventon has. Beautiful!. Almost all the bikes I compared when I bought my Aventon just has a solid color with clear coat and that's it.
I am 5'9" and if I believe what specify in the website, I would buy Large size which I will be in trouble now. Thanks to your review, I finally purchased aventure2 regular size step through and it fit me perfectly.
How do you adjust the front fork on the left side , the brown knob . It's marked "+" , "-" , I turn the knob + , - and don't notice anything is there a limit to the amount of turns , or a positive stop ? What does it adjust ? The blue knob on the right side turns the suspension off or on , and limits it in between .
Great video! Helpful, real-world testing and opinions. Great suggestions too. Thanks. Wondering if or what your long-term experience is with Aventon? Seems like an awesome bike, especially for the price…. But when you hear bike shop people bash them as being cheap, makes one second guess if it will be a reliable bike.
From other Aventure riders I have seen on youtube, you can put the mode in 'tour' and once the battery drops to about 30-35%, change the mode to 'sport or turbo' and they usually get 60 miles on a single charge. I believe their terrain is slightly hilly. Hope this might help with your range.
Nice job. I would be more interested in the Aventon Level-2. Similar but about 20 pounds lighter with narrower tires. It torque driven. It is also only rated for 300lb. Would like to hear what you think. Thanks
I have a Level 2 and absolutely luv it. Put on about 400 miles so far, Added two Hafny rear view bar end mirrors, Cloud 9 seat, Mountain bike tire on rear after 2 flats first week, metal pedals, satori adjustable stem, phone mount, Tribit Bluetooth speaker, and a rear bag attached for carrying stuff.
I was looking at the Mokwheel Mesa Plus ST, but this bike caught my eye and now I can't stop thinking about it! One question I'd ask regarding the turn signals: is there a "4 way hazard" option? Say for example, I get a flat tire and need to pull over quickly on a busy bike path. Perhaps I'm thinking too much in terms of a car driver, but it might be a neat feature to have.
Good review. Your the only one that has reviewed this bike and mentioned that when the battery gets to 25 percent that there’s basically no power. I like that you mentioned that and I think that is a big con for the bike. The bike needs a bigger battery.
Good review. Picking mine up from Erik's shop tomorrow. I wonder if it is possible that the rear rack was installed backwards making the sliding adjustment useless, as you pointed out. I'll be checking that at the dealer when I go to get the bike.
I've watched a couple of reviews and this bike seems pretty great for the money. I wish it had a bigger battery though, for more range.Other fat bikes are starting to have that. Not that I'm going to push it to the mileage limit, I just like to have a bigger buffer, so I never have to worry. I may still get this bike anyway. Thanks, great review
@@CitizenCycle925 Update: I just ordered one! Thanks for the excellent review. It helped me reach my decision. The other reason was the assembly looks simpler than most, so I feel confident doing it myself as opposed to paying a couple of hundred dollars for a shop to do it for me. Now I just have to unload my Juiced Bikes CCX!! Thanks again!
Thanks for a good review...subscribed! I plan on replacing my V1 Aventure with this bike when better riding weather gets here in NH, so I appreciate your thorough review. Regarding trip meter: per the manual, this Aventure.2 has two of them. TRIP A/B PAGES 1. Double press to enter the Trip A page, and press to switch to the Trip B page. 2. Double press to exit the Trip A/B page. It seems like a clunky interface, but at least it's there.
@@CitizenCycle925 I'm happy to know this helped. Can you check something for me, since I won't have an Aventure.2 for months? With the new support for two trip meters on the Aventure, how is the data cleared individually? Does the Clear Trip Data function at the Main Menu now offer the choice of Trip 1 or Trip 2?
Great review. I wonder if someone who’s 6’-0” and likes an upright ride would fit better on the smaller frame or a larger size. Seemed like you had no problem with the smaller bike, but would you go larger to be able to sit comfortably upright? Thanks!
Very good communication on your part here! But now you've got me (I'm 72) considering a step-through because I had a blood clot in my right leg...and the resulting operation left it weaker. Now, I have read that step-throughs tend to flex due to less bracing without the upper rail. Have you experienced this?
.Back when I was researching e-bikes I had it narrowed down to the Aventon 2 or Oclet Pro, I don't remember Aventon coming with a throttle at the time so I have to ask if that is new? I did go for the Ocelot Pro and am very happy with it but if I had seen your review first I probably would of gotten Aventon. I'm 65 retired and just getting back to cycling, hate to admit it put my legs are out of shape so ghost peddling feels nice when I get tired. Love your reviews I think you and Russ is Right give the best reviews.
I like the sound of this Aventon 750 watt motor. I came here to compare it to the Euphree Stellar Falcons which is high pitched with a whine. This bike is A LOT lower priced too!

Nice bike but i can't see myself getting one tho..most of the competition bikes are equipped with a 52v system so i feel like im buy a outdated bike.. I'm expecting a bike at this price should offer specs like the Ariel rider Kepler at least..i believe the 3rd version they might catch up with the competition.

Great review. This bike is on my very short list.
Been so busy with growing my channel haven't had time to watch anything . Nice video as always.👍
That cobalt blue looks great.
I just met someone with this exact bike.. Very nice looking
Beautiful!.
Almost all the bikes I compared when I bought my Aventon just has a solid color with clear coat and that's it.
agreed, the frame is super nice on the aventon bikes.
Great info as usual. I like the small frame size. Now if they could come with 24 inch tires to match the small frame?
I am 5'9" and if I believe what specify in the website, I would buy Large size which I will be in trouble now. Thanks to your review, I finally purchased aventure2 regular size step through and it fit me perfectly.
Glad you found it helpful! :)
Love my adventure 2 not easy to stay off got extra battery 2000 I'm happy with it.
Thank you for showing us a small bike my wife wants to ride but can't find something to fit her
Amazing review
Thank you sir for sharing your video. I just became a new subscriber.
Thank you and welcome! 🙂
Great review !
I thing if you push both turn signal buttons at the same time, it brings up to trip odometers
Beautiful bike! Lots of quality of life improvements
@rambojohn7118 yes it's a great bike but I do feel the battery is just a little bit small.
great video ,great bike , thanks
Good review. Picking mine up from Erik's shop tomorrow. I wonder if it is possible that the rear rack was installed backwards making the sliding adjustment useless, as you pointed out. I'll be checking that at the dealer when I go to get the bike.
I just bought one and it does have A and B trip settings
I've watched a couple of reviews and this bike seems pretty great for the money. I wish it had a bigger battery though, for more range.Other fat bikes are starting to have that. Not that I'm going to push it to the mileage limit, I just like to have a bigger buffer, so I never have to worry. I may still get this bike anyway. Thanks, great review
i agree, the battery needs to be larger to keep pace with the market and just for range anxiety as well.
Dude that bob barker was right on the money
Are they still using the Bafang motor ?
Thanks for a good review...subscribed! I plan on replacing my V1 Aventure with this bike when better riding weather gets here in NH, so I appreciate your thorough review.
Regarding trip meter: per the manual, this Aventure.2 has two of them.
TRIP A/B PAGES
1. Double press to enter the Trip A page, and press to switch to the Trip B page.
2. Double press to exit the Trip A/B page.
It seems like a clunky interface, but at least it's there.
I just tried this and it worked!! Thank you for the information
When you click clear trip data it just has yes or no, does not give you the option to clear A or B
Good job! Thanks
I am watching this review in March 2024. Great review. Just wondering if a year later you are still riding this bike?
Still have it. It's my wife's favorite because of its smaller size.
Very very cool. Is there a Rad Rover 6 Plus upgrade vid for dual battery, dual motor, controller Monster Rover conversion.
I do not have any videos for the rad rover 6 plus, It's crossed my mind to get one but not sure if I want to waste the money
I like the sound of this Aventon 750 watt motor. I came here to compare it to the Euphree Stellar Falcons which is high pitched with a whine. This bike is A LOT lower priced too!
Couldn't help but notice, yesterday's video you had a different pooter. Was a light color with white top. Sounded awesome. Can I get that model??
Do you have a link to the phone holder on the bike?
Awesome review brother, yes you covered everything! Was waiting on your take on Aventure 2. I got mine few days back and on your suggestion got the komoda fenders. Now when I'm not riding, bike is happily hanging in my garage on my steadyrack. Do share your accessories recommendations for this one
Haha Yes I've put those Kommoda fenders on several bikes now They work great with the racks. Thanks for keeping up with my channel 😁
Beautiful bike!
