Got my Aventure 2 last week and been having an utter blast so far. Been far too long since I rode and since I'm old and beatup after my Army years, an e-bike suits me perfectly. My only regret is not buying one sooner, lol.

Super helpful video! I like that you came from the motorcycle perspective so the products you recommend are durable and effective. Thx!
Regarding the ebike: I wanted a commuter bike (not fat tire but 'wider' tire) and was about to buy the Aventon Level 2 until I came across the Mokwheel Asphalt ST. I test drove both the Mokwheel and Aventon Level 2 for several miles. Both are 'step-thru' bikes and performed well but I preferred the ride of the Mokwheel. Mokwheel also makes a fat tire version, mountain bike and folding bike. To my surprise it was $1,500 (a steal imo) which included:
    1. Torque peddling. I had it up over 25 mph at PAS 1 peddling pretty hard. What I like is unlike other methods (like cadence) the harder you peddling the faster you go regardless of the set PAS level. If I set it to PAS 3 I get to 25 mph with less effort PAS 1. That's the difference. Honestly, torque peddling is genius.
    2. Its very stable and well built. No wobbling. Even at 30 mph it feels safe.
    3. Ergonomics. At first I thought I would not like the handle bars but after riding it around on the test drive I came to appreciate how comfortable it felt.
    4. Its fast. If you want it to be. If not you can adjust the settings to limit speed.
    5. No herky jerky with the motor. Its very smooth.
    6. Color display. I will never go back to black and white.
    7. Lights - powerful headlight, great rear lights and breaking lights. All integrated and powered by the battery.
    8. It has a built in horn that's LOUD!
    9. 7 speed gear shifter.
    10. Rear rack.
    11. Comfortable seat.
    12. Front suspension fork that works really well.
    13. The battery lasts 50 to 60 miles easily.
    14. Durable metal pedals (not cheap plastic ones).
    15. Charges in 3 to 4 hours.
    16. Mokwheel also offers the bike in a 'step-over' version.
    17. 2 year bumper-bumper-bumper warranty.
    Great bike. Highly recommend.

Those flashing pedals are cool, but you definitely should try and work on a solution for the rear brake or tail light that you don't have. Maybe you have it viewable by a potential car behind you when your not carrying any cargo but it look's like it's totally blocked by your cargo rack set up in the video. There are no easy solution to this when it comes to the rear brake light I'm afraid unless the stock rear rack you have is already coordinated with a rear brake light, (I'm wondering if there are 3rd party rear brake lights that will act like a real brake light, just like a regular car, but not seen one yet that let's you place it exactly where you want it so it's clearly visible) Remember if your in the bike lane as normal and a car chooses to go into it behind you, but you need to stop for any reason, the car driver is probably going to expect to see some kind of rear brake light, because that's what car driver's are used too, and it's hard to blame them for expecting that,

    • @dove348
      @dove348  Год назад

Thanks I love the peddles and they are extremely visible. Now the Aventon Aventure actually has integrated brake lights and tail lights down close to the wheel hub on the frame on each side as well as turn signals they come in handy too. However the light I have on the rear rack is visible the bag doesn't block it although it is a cheap light and I will replace it with a bigger brighter solution. Lastly believe it or not there are aftermarket brake light solutions for bikes I believe they use gyro sensors to determine the quick deceleration of speed. Hey thanks for the consern and suggestions I appreciate it

Thank you for the input, it might even keep me safe one day, I'm not an Ebike owner yet, but I'm making my decision based a little on what if I wanted to do night time food delivery work, so everything brake light and rear cargo racks has higher interest to me than most. It would be great for you to keep us informed on how you plan to upgrade to a larger rear brake light, I wasn't even sure that was even a thing, but now that I know that, I'll start googling for some ideas there as well as the aftermarket brake light solutions, In the meantime I can't really picture those brake lights that low, can you upload another video showing that ?

I can't stand barking dogs, thus, I can't watch your review.
