Oh my goodness thank you for this! I have been doing this for ever but when I read about VLSM I didn't realize I was doing it. You solidified all this for me. And the physical representation was PERFECT. Thank you.

I like the way you teached that hard topic so easily and in the end by drawing the geometry group boxes is amazing..so people can easy to get what's means by VLSM, by dividing the subnets.

31:40 lost him from there... such a awesome teacher but that thing just blue screened my understanding on VLSM What are you doing with the "1's" that are on the left side of the "berlin wall" ? are you adding them or AND gate them?

    Good video, BUT:
Why not keep the camera on a tripod and set the focus on manual?

  • @ChillinDylan

I wondered what that thing was. lol. Well, I wish he'd just put the camera on wide lens and just let it be. Much too distracting, trying to follow along.

Thanks for all your efforts! Great explanation! But I have just confused with the 4 T.H.A on the WAN between the routers. Why exactly 4? where it drives from ? if we count 4 THA addresses between two routers then we need 12 THA . Am I wrong ? if there answer "yes" please,Give me more clear explanation on that.

    • @CitizenPerkins

+Samir I.-- Hopefully, you've figured things out by now. But for those that read your question, here's my answer.
When you connect 2 router interfaces together you use 2 usable hosts, 1 for each interface. But, as you know, each subnet uses 2 non-usable IPs, as well -- giving us a total of 4 T.H.A's (Total Hosts Available). That's why router-to-router connections normally get a /30 (or 255.255.255.252) subnet mask -- it allows for EXACTLY 4 hosts addresses (aka Total Host Addresses or Total Host IPs), but only 2 usable IPs.
      Example: 192.168.1.0 /30 (255.255.255.252)
      Network Address ...... 192.168.1.0
      1st Usable IP ............. 192.168.1.1
      Last Usable IP ........... 192.168.1.2
      Broadcast IP .............. 192.168.1.3
