There's one sad fact about this boss music, is that the first few notes when you battle Sophia is "E B E B E B", which if using the number sight-singing system, translate to "3 7 3 7 3 7" 😭😭

Also, when the piano melody changes to "E B D C" at 0:36, on, quite literally, the 37th second. D C translates to "2 1". Because harmonically here having a D flat wouldn't make sense (or this may be on purpose), this could be interpreted as an estimate of the value of 1.414... square root of 2 - Sophia.
In fact, it may not have been D flat/C sharp on purpose, because it's reflecting the conflict residing in Sophia at present: her desire to be an integer, yet now vanquished as she is now an irrational sqrt 2.
      Thus, 37, sqrt 2

37 has always tried to protect and understand Sophia, like when she threw a grape at Regulus when she accused Sophia of being an irrational number.
She defends the irrational numbers because she is different from everyone else, she doesn't discriminate irrational numbers because they're just irrational numbers like the rest do on the island, though she may dislike them a little bit because she can't understand them.
37's favorite number is the circle/pi which is irrational. She is fond of Sophia, because "numbers are just numbers," and "just because every crow we've encountered so far has been black, that doesn't mean that the next one will also be black," so it's no problem for 37 that Sophia is an irrational number because since Sophia is an irrational number that means people with virtues are not necessarily integers and therefore virtues have nothing to do with numbers. This was 37's answer to Vertin's question about 210's statement that, "The numbers of our soul imply our fate."
Sophia once, said, "I made a grave mistake, a terrible mistake. It makes me afraid...that I may be a mistake." This is referring to the miscalculation that she and 37 made of the storm 4 years ago.
37 asked at that time, "Sophia, why are you crying?" This little cruel genius doesn't understand why mortals cry, she wants to know why Sophia cries so she declares that she would study the Storm as an act to try to comfort Sophia and hopes that she will not cry for this "mistake."
37 believes that Sophia is only upset with the failure of the calculation, but she doesn't see that isn't just the case.
Sophia understands the gap between them and their differences in views, but 37 didn't. Sophia could only cry and fear that she was a mistake.
And 37, took over her mother's model and continued the study of the Storm. It's true that a part of the source of her obsession with the study of the Storm was her obsession with her mother but it was also because she wanted to make Sophia happy by proving they would be right the next time.
However, this wasn't what Sophia needed. Sophia had an inferiority complex because 37 was the genius who pursued the truth and returned to the cave, and Sophia was the one who was trapped in the cave.
37 is cold because she disregards the world of matters in the pursuit of truth.
From the eyes of others, this genius is so cruel yet so innocent to hurt the girl from the outside world (Sophia). In fact, 37 is attuned to her childhood sweetheart, trying to understand the world in her eyes. She didn't know why Sophia was crying, so one day, after the deaths of their respective parent, 37 ran to Sophia who was on the beach crying and mourning the death of her father, and offered Sophia a bottle which contained her number - hoping that Sophia would stop crying. It didn't have the intended effect as we know it was then that Sophia threw that bottle into the sea.
From Sofia's perspective, it's her fault that the people on the ship died even though now we know it was due to the collapse of 77's faith which caused the immunity zone to shrink. Sofia thinks, "I killed them, I'm a mistake."
Sophia blamed herself even though both her and 37 were responsible for the calculation. She relied on 37 to do the calculations from then on due to her own fears and 37 as well took responsiblity by saying, "Next time, I will make a better calculation. I promise."
Sophia was also hoping that 37 would also make a mistake so that it was possible that she read her number wrong - That she wasn't √2 and this wasn't the fate she was given.
37 wanted to understand Sophia who was an irrational number, why she rejected the truth (the number of her soul). Thus, Regulus became a subject of study because she was also an irrational number.
37 has unknowingly hurt Sophia by saying dismissive statements such as, "These are just fragments of matter." because Sophia still viewed herself in the world of matters even if 37 believed they were on the same plane of existence (the number axis). 37 is under the impression that they are equals so she sees no issues with Sophia being an irrational number, but this also makes her blind to Sophia's inner conflicts. Sophia herself feels helpless, she doesn't see herself deserving enough to step in the Hall of Truth or take on any role besides being the Corrector because she is afraid to do calculations since her mistake 4 years ago. She doesn't want to be an irrational number because it will reaffirm her beliefs that she is a mistake. She followed the scripture in hopes of changing her fate. 6 said, "What point is there in delaying the inevitable?" once he heard about how Sophia made glasses for her father Hugh despite he still would eventually become blind.
Sophia herself has been avoiding arguments with 37 in the plot before 1.9, she has this tendency in saying,"You are always right", "Whatever you want" and then find a reason to slip away.
37 herself has noticed this habit, has been able to predict when Sofia would do this, and has figured to physically grab Sofia's hand to root her in place as we learn in her Character story but this isn't always the case.
In 37's character story, 37 worringly asks Sophia, "Have I messed up your memories of Hugh? I barged in and made a mess right?" when 210 accused that 37 was inserting herself where she didn't belong after she helped Sofia in uncovering the song Hugh left for his daughter. But, everyone can tell that she wasn't bothered by 210's words but rather she was worried about Sophia's thoughts and ruined what she held important, but she doesn't understand her so she is unable to cross the glass barrier between her and of the girl who is ashamed of her mistake and her number.
I think Sophia might have been expecting 37 to stop her and pull her back. No matter whether she lost or won, was right or wrong, it doesn’t matter, she didn't really know what she wanted herself so she wanted 37 to decide for her. She was very emotionally confused at that time. She relied on 37 and felt that 37 was right, but she also hoped that 37 was wrong.
The sentence of "stop me, defeat me, transcend me, and crush me to dust" was not seeking 37 to kill her to prove that 37 was right, but just to get 37 stirred up and act.
But 37 couldn't answer her, whether it was rooting Sofia in place by holding her hand or transcending her, 37 didn't do either - it was obvious she didn't want Sophia to leave, but she didn't take any action to stop her, displaying that 37 wanted to respect Sophia's choice.
So when Sophia saw 37 about to cry during the fight, she sobered up: I'm sorry. I lost my mind, how could I torture you. Your hands weren't meant for violence but for upholding the truth. As for me, I will clear off the dust on the path.
Sophia gave an excuse and then slipped away once more, old habits die hard.
As a result, even if the two of them could communicate with each other for a moment, the barrier between them that let them touch each other through the glass would not really let them hold hands because they are not in the same plane of existence.

This easter egg seems to be first discovered by the CN community, when you overlap "Me Inside the Bottle/瓶中我" with 37's theme: "Kingdom of Numbers/数字王国" (which on this channel is labeled 1.4 Battle Music, 02) they blend together seamlessly. Sophia's theme is intentionally sparse, and both soundtracks share significant similarities that complement each other; they bounce off each other.
Sophia's and 37's themes are about the same length; 1:37 and 1:38 respectively. A mere 1-second difference. This slight offset enhances the effect of their separate musical motifs, allowing their songs to trigger and respond to each other.
They transition into one another smoothly, harmonizing especially well where Sophia's theme shares patterns and rhythms with 37's.
This back-and-forth exchange depicts a conversation between the two songs; a musical conservation. This is only exemplified by Sophia's song calling out to 37 in the melody of 3 and 7 the entire time.
The main melody for Me Inside the Bottle are the notes: 3(E) and 7(B).
The main melody in Kingdom of Numbers is 2(D) and 6(A). This forms a perfect fifth interval; a 1-note difference.
The perfect fifth interval between E and B spans 7 semitones, just as it does between D and A.
So not only is there a 1-second difference in the song lengths, but the melodies also differ by one note. Despite this, both songs have the same BPM (beat per minute).
Both themes are in the minor key, with Kingdom of Numbers in D-minor, which is a fifth above the A-minor key of Me Inside the Bottle.
When you put the two songs together, it's almost like they are two halves of a single musical "chord."
Kingdom of Numbers was crafted with an upward ascending musical movement, complementing the melancholic and contemplative tone of Me Inside the Bottle. This creates a complete, harmonious piece when combined together.
Kingdom of Numbers has a relatively stirring and bold personality, it evokes determination and triumph to explore the unknown and discover the limitless possibilities, driven by curiosity; conveying a sense of fearless progress.
This is contrasted by the loneliness and hesitation expressed by the two repeating notes in the main melody of Me Inside the Bottle. It is contemplative and melancholic.
After the main melody fades away in Me Inside the Bottle, a feeling of desperate sorrow is left behind.
Perhaps Sophia thinks she can't keep up with 37.
However, the string section of Me Inside the Bottle is constantly playing triplets, while the strings of Kingdom of Numbers fills in the gaps between these triplets. The triplets divide the beat into three parts, they are interlocking, creating a gear-like effect.
Through this, 37 is adjusting her pace to synchronize with Sophia. Even if they are not always perfectly aligned, they remain tightly intertwined, achieving perfect unity in the latter half of their combined piece.

The english translation for 数字王国 is "Kingdom of Numbers"
In the CN server, 数字王国 is title of stage 6 in chapter 5 while in the EN server, the title for that stage is "Kingdom of Numbers" which is more understandable than the rough translation of "Digital Domain" that google gives you.
edit: 37's ult line, "Welcome to the world of numbers!"

37 stood high on the tower of truth, away from the dangers of the fragment of matters. Sophia believed she was just an ordinary cornerstone and left. The loss of such a foundation causes 37 to plunge into the phenomenal world below. 37 was previously unconcerned with things unrelated to the truth and she is now forced to look at reality.
Sophia is the Achilles' heel of 37, she is 37's weakness that dragged 37 from the realm of truth into the phenomenal world and thus introduced her to the pain of reality.

The piano notes do indeed represent 37, but listen closely, otherwise, you might miss that Sophia is the organ in the back.
The piano, which is obviously playing the notes 3 and 7, is playing in a perfect fifth. A stable and harmonious tone.
The organ instrument, Sophia's essence, is played in a diminished fifth then later an augmented fourth as it ascends at 0:10. Both of which represent √2 in the 12-tone equal temperament system. This gives us a disharmonious and uncertain tone unlike 37's perfect fifth.
0:00 from the beginning, the organ is very apparent, but then it gets buried underneath at 0:37 with the introduction of the choir which represents the turmoil and chaos. The piano (37) is still clear but the choir threatens to shake the stability of 37's essence.
You can still hear the organ (Sophia) throughout the song but it gets fainter and fainter until it disappears alongside the piano (37) at 0:54 but then it transitions into the same melody used at the beginning, Sophia's melody, or rather Sophia in the bottle drifting in the sea.
This was foreshadowed earlier at 0:09 and 0:13 before it goes into 0:15 where it sounds more tropical-like, the hollow-like sound represents the bottle. Sophia is burying 37's essence here because this is her part, no longer is Sophia's melody uncertain, it is strong and resolute until the piano (37) reappears at 1:13 since the choir was driven away by Sophia's melody. 1:30-1:37, the music fades out, this is where Sophia bids 37 farewell, "Goodbye, my beloved friend." The original length of the song is 1:37.

this is easily my fav song in the game, and my fav boss fight
i'll just talk about the gameplay since other pro comments already talked about the song, but i'll still say its a gem of a song to listen to
sophia as a boss is rly fun, being a boss who takes a couple of turns to actually be a threat, with a gimmick that makes the player interactive and think with how to approach each round.
hard mode is where it gets really fun, adding enemies as pressure is perfect for a boss like sophia who needs time to deal damage, it also gives you more options to tackle and target, either kill sophia quickly, or play the long game of taking out all the minions till she's alone, which is the perfect time to strike
another thing about this boss is how there are a lot of options that help u beat the stage, no lucy? no kakania? no big deal, u have ur playstyle, now beat up a top tier boss (i beat hard mode with jiu, spathodea, sonetto and tooth fairy)
cant get over how good sophia's fight is, didnt finish the final boss but goddamn do i have high expectations that were met since day 1. what a great game

Sophia's number has ben revealed since the patch of the Prisoner in the Cave.
Her number is √2, which is 1.41421356237... is already introduced in The Prisoner in the Cave update, which is in 1.4 (the first two digits of her number) So that's probably why Bluepoch chose that version to be all math-themed...😨
Edit: I've recently got 37 about two weeks ago. She is my favourite DPS now... I've leveled her up to the max, resonate level 10, 100% bond and my first lvl.60 6-star psychube amplified to 1 is her silent and adoring one. I felt so bad for her.
