    I am involved with attempting to improve the carbon fiber pool cue shaft, by altering the 'CF' cloth layers to accentuate the lever action of said shaft!!
    John,
    I'd luv to speak with you on the phone, your knowledge of the different materials could prove helpful!

      Hi,
      I'm looking to make a roll wrap, pool cue 'carbon fiber shaft.....I have an exact size wooden shaft, that can be used to make a mandrel from, and I think I can describe, the type cloth, the layer form to achieve the proper lever action of the shaft, and how it should be finished!
      Also, beyond this point, what type foam filler and various other items for completing the shaft!
      Anyway, there's no R and D really, been done to make this superior material, designed properly to exemplify the pool cue shafts desired motion!
      Thanks,
      Bill Gibbs

    How do you succeed to produce double curvature bodies such as panels and connect them seamless? I mean how different surfaces come together seamless?

    • @RockWestComposites
      @RockWestComposites  Год назад

      If I am understanding your question, you want to connect 2 panels at a right angle (or something similar)?
      The only truly seamless method is to create a mold in the shape you want and lay the material around the mold to create a seamless corner. If you want to connect 2 or more panels, a seamless look is not as possible. It usually requires some tabbing or brackets to hold in place as the edges are not enough bond line to secure properly.

    Hi guys. I've looked around but cannot find a guide on how can I stop the wobbling for a pole that is fixed on a tripod for time-lapses. Can you help me with some ideas for anchoring this somehow? Thanks

      There are multiple variables that can cause this. Could be in the head (mount). Could be the ground itself shifting if snowy or icy. But the single most effective means for stabilizing a tripod (outside of ensuring the tripod itself is of high quality and joints / mechanisms tight as can be) is to hang a weight from the headmount nearly to the ground so to "pull" the entire system towards the ground more firmly planting it all to terrafirma.

    Hello, when sucking the air out the bag, does anyone have a link for the type of vacuum valve I can use? Similar to the opposite of a a header valve...? Link?

      @RockWestComposites  2 года назад

      We don't use a one way valve (if I am understanding your question correctly) but rather we pull vacuum using a pump such as this one www.rockwestcomposites.com/pump-vt48 though more affordable pumps are available on Amazon (though much cheaper in build quality).

      If you are referring to the vacuum port that is placed within the bag, then this is what you may be looking for: www.rockwestcomposites.com/vacport-thrubag

    Hello I want to bond plates together in a sandwich. What surfaces bond together better, twill or unidirectional?

    • @johnkimball314
      @johnkimball314 2 года назад

      Both bond together well... if you prepare the surfaces properly. This means that the surface needs to be sanded to remove any shine or contaminants, then thoroughly cleaned with a solvent like acetone or isopropyl alcohol. it is best to apply adhesive to both surfaces before clamping or fixturing.
