Zabka and Macchio's humility is why they're finding so much success right now. hats off to them both!
And who knew that Zabka was the great acting resource we never knew we had? Comedy, drama…that man steals like every scene.
Johnny Lawrence is not humble you take that back!
@@gllyflower he is really good, much better than what we got to see in the movie so that is nice. And the kids aren't doing a bad job either!
But honestly, my biggest pleasure has been seen Thomas Ian Griffith back on the screen. Kk3 was so bad for me, this series is totally redeeming him!
@@MikeyJJJ *QUIET!*
I wanna say Zabka won an Oscar for a short film he directed like a year before Cobra Kai first came out… he’s not been not working in Hollywood all these years 😁
Ralph is a great young actor. Has his whole life ahead of him.
60 is young these days?
At least 100 more years
I agree. That young man has a future.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He's 3 years older than Colbert, so don't ruin Santa for the little guy just yet.
it's true, there's a reason why so many other Nostalgia projects are terrible, but Cobra Kai is so great... because the writers and producers really know the setting, characters, and themes that made the original movies so special, and they treat that source material with the care and respect it deserves.
Yes this and Degrassi kinda of did it right from their originals back in the 80s. Saved by the Bell is trying but their story lines are a bit blah.
It truly is one of the most entertaining shows I’ve ever seen. They completely nail the balance of heart, drama, comedy and action that made 80s movies so memorable.
I'm so glad that in this latest season, they acknowledge the silliness of the third movie, but also they completely redeem Terry's character... I mean, he's very menacing and believable now as a bad guy.
@@kbanghart I love how they write his craziness in K3 as his use of cocaine 😂
@@armondo22 yeah, that definitely helped!
This guy is a treasure.
At 47 I'm still excited to see him appear on shows and feel like a little boy again like I did in 1984.
He's so damn nice. Genuine nice not fake Hollywood nice.
Your right! Good point!
I'm 47 too and I look 10 years older than him. lol.
@@JustLikeHeaven77 me too, I'm 49 and people ask if my wife is my daughter LOL. Of course that makes her feel great!
Like Keanu, and Mark Hamill.
@@kbanghart true
He can definitely pass for someone in his late 30's or early 40's. Must be the inner peace 🙂
He was no teenager when the original movies were made. He has always naturally looked about half his age, I think. 😆
Facelifts and fake hair
@@efisgpr probably but nowadays every actor does this but he looks young nonetheless.
Cannot believe that he's 60!!! He looks about 30-35. Those Italian roots did him well. Stephen forgot to mention "My Cousin Vinny" in his intro.
@@sandraandrews9907 I don't know what kind of 30 year olds you know in your life but he def does not look 30 lmao....more like in his 40s
I'm sorry did he say he's *60* ? Wtf....and it's not just his looks even his voice sounds amazing and even his eyes look young
WOWWWW!!! HE JUST BEEN CUTE AND YOUNG LOOKING HIS WHOLE DOGGONE LIFE😲😄!!!! I've always loved Maccio so much!!!! I'm gonna check his show out!!!💙☺
I was shook. How old AM I?!?!
What's more shocking facts? The actor who played Terry Silver us even younger than Danny boy over here
he's 50
@@smithytom7405 he was born in 1961 so you do the math if you can
Hi from Melbs vic, the fact that man is 60 and looks 40 is a freakin testament to something. I also think its impressive to come back after such a long time and kick goals.
I had to check whether he was really 60, you're right!!
He looks like my cousin who's around 38 years old!
Well, I'm 44 and I look younger than him. 🤷🏻♂️
Folks, 60 is not what it used to be these days if you take a little bit care of yourself. I'm impressed if he looks like that when he's 70.
Plus: TV Make-up helps a bit too 😉
@@Ganiscol so, at 44 you look just marginally younger than a 60yr old. Good for you!
He looks more like 30!
@@Ganiscol Get back to us when you're 60
Ralph is 3 years older than Colbert but looks like his son.
What??? Ralph is still the boy of 1984 🥰🥰🥰
Im his father.
Swear DOWN!!!
Agreed. Its amasingh.
Cobra Kai is genuinely one of the greatest shows ever made, Ralph is the man
LMFAO. You need to watch more shows then.
@tahoe twilight Troll is only appropriate if I'm not speaking the truth. This show wouldn't make top 50 on any real list much less best show ever.
@tahoe twilight A) Your opinion don't mean shit either
B) More than you have, little boy.
@@transws6am Number 1 on Netflix in a lot of countries says otherwise.
@@hayhaclay3968 a lot of trash has been listed as number one. Doesn't make it great.
Ralph Macchio is the definition of a class act.
Stunned to hear he's 60 and lookin' in his thirties! I wouldn't look that good after decades in cryo. Good on him.
The years are like wax to Ralph. Years on. Years off!
awesome comment.
Totally - he looks amazing. He's older than Stephen.
Yep 😄
I love the show. It's fun to experience the nostalgia, but with a great young cast (as well as many of the original cast) and new story line.
It is a great show and season 4 was really good…he’s right about it…I feel like they read my mind this season on what we wanted.
@@gllyflower I haven't watched season 4 yet. I'm afraid to read more comments and see spoilers. 🙂
the people who knew that "the bad guy" in Karate Kid was, in fact, a phenomenal actor really deserve the credit for making this show happen the way it needed to
if you want more of a heart attack: Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) is 59 while Maccio is 60! He's older than terry silver!
That’s amazing, especially when you think about them starring in Karate Kid III together in 1989.
My teenage son finally saw the original Karate Kid movie this past fall and loved it. Not only the story, but all the spiritual wisdom - which he kept commenting on. And yes, I've already binge-watched the entire Cobra Kai season 4.
BRO 60, I'm 23 and don't look that good.
Diet and excersise. Start now! Literally the closest you'll get to the fountain of youth
@@AlexJanicki nah, Macchio is just blessed with his good genes. He always looked younger.
Protect your skin from the sun as much as possible
For real lol
If you grew up on the originals, you will love Cobra Kai. I just wish other 1980/90s classics like Ghostbusters, and the Ninja Turtles got the same beautiful treatment. Its really a love-letter to the Karate Kid generation.
Yeah, lets cross our fingers for Air Wolf.
@S R Same with the Nightrider reboot
yeah about that kid, ghostbusters came back as a new movie
What do you think about Ghostbusters afterlife
There has got to be a painting in Ralph’s attic!
A cubic truckload of people won't get that reference and scroll right by... but I saw you.
Ed's...Portrait of Dorian Gray, right? Great old movie.
@@katemaxwell2804 Yeah, y'know they even wrote a book about it too. [eyeroll]
Lol 🤣 good one!
@@katemaxwell2804 that’s right
I think what I like so much about the show is how everyone on the show is flawed. Johnny makes some bad choices, but Daniel makes bad choices, too. Neither one is really a “bad guy,” they’re just doing what they think is best. Most of the characters are like this, even the villains (although it is pretty clear Kreese and Silver are mostly just jerks who had difficult lives growing up). It’s just great to see everyone still be treated with respect on this show
Would've been incredibly easy to keep Tori or Eli or Robbie as a designated "bad guy," but instead almost everybody's given an actual personality and character growth, which in turn sets itself up for new plot arcs. It's fantastic.
The lad doesn't age! Class act
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He a mad lad!!!
Stephen is YOUNGER than Ralph...he is 57 and Ralph is 60 but Stephen looks like his older brother!!!
I remember seeing the movie in 84, id assumed he was my younger than me, he does look good, He must have moisturised and lived healthy.
That's because Stephen has had to spend all that time thinking about Republicans. It wears you down.
@@js27-a5t I'm not American and I can see your point.
Yeah, Ralph is actually older than fellow actors Billy Zabka and Thomas Ian Griffith, and also older than Pat Morita was back when the first 3 movies were made!!
What really?
I’ve said it before bringing back ‘The Karate Kid’ this way was pure genius. I know it will end someday but enjoy it in the meantime.
My nephew watched The Karate Kid for the first time over Christmas, he loved the film, it’s timeless! 😊
Has he gotten into Cobra Kai yet?
@@spearmintmedia Not yet. 😊
Mister Myagi was such a role model in my youth, and Daniel Laruso has become a role roll model in my adulthood. Love the whole series!
*HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I SAW KARATE KID IN 1984 AND NOW THE NEW GENERATION IS ALSO ENJOYING THE SHOW TODAY* 🤯👏👏👏
I love Ralph and this series. He IS the Karate Kid. Stephen gave a great interview as always. I love this!
This scene is an example of why William Zabka is the heart of the show.
Wowsers... 60? Amazing !!
Omg he looks amazing for 60. I thought he was joking and had to google his age. He looks late 30s. Happy for him; he seems so unassuming, nice and humble.
Damn Ralph Macchio too comes from the Conan and Paul Rudds School of De aging.
Impressive, Dude literally looks like someone 40 - 45.
Wow, 60. It's not just that he looks young - there's lots of tricks for that - but his voice sounds young, and his eyes look young too.
It's a,good thing that Vinny helped him beat that murder rap. He wouldn't have aged this well, rotting away in a bible belt prison. Go Ralphie!
My god!! Can't believe he is 60 . Wow he looks like maybe 45 . Insane !!
Kobra Kai can get kinda corny, but it really has a lot of heart and strokes of pure genius. Fighting choreography and cinematography is solid too.
cant tell if you're insulting the show or if you actually like it .
The fact it’s kinda corny stays on theme with the movies, it makes it more genuine to the universe it portrays imo, idk
Cobra Kai was why I purchased "RUclips Red" years back, and have had premium ever since. The entire series has been phenominal!
I'm right there with you. Bought Red just for CK and never cancelled. Sometimes when I watch others that don't have a subscription and have to keep waiting for ads I just tell them to get Premium. Now I'm spoiled and can't stand the ads! LOL.
Same here. I never bothered to cancel it
This recognition of the fans is why nothing from Star Wars has been any good since 1983 until John Favreau made "The Mandalorian." It took a real fan to make something that the fans really wanted to see. And, this really is the best season of "Cobra Kai," yet.
He's always looked young. He was in his early twenties when he played Johnny and Daniel and looked like a teenager.
He still still look young lol and he is over 60, nice to see him again.
Crazy that he's 60!
Only here for Ralph..🥋
most of the guys in my hood did Karate because of this guy
Nostalgia done right. Star Wars take notes.
We love you larusso from philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭
Ralph Macchio is 60 😱. Still in love with him 🥰. Have to remember I'm grown too🤣🤣🤣
I just found out why my local (and usually pretty quiet) fish market was jam packed a day before Christmas.
It’s sooo awesome to see him and Lawrence still successful! This show brings back so much nostalgia for me!!! Your awesome bro!!! Kudos
Daniel San and Cobra Kai forever!!
Such a great thing to bring back to us.
Im sure he gets it all the time, but honestly the entire time I was blown away that this dude is 60 but could pass for a 40 year old, even late 30s.
I just binged watch the first season of the show yesterday, i love it.
I fell in love with Cobra Kai from the first season itself. Absolute gem!
I cannot believe that Ralph is 3 years older than Stephen Colbert here😂
im glad for everyone part of Cobra Kai success
Agree.
If you respect the original material, of any loved IP. You will be economically rewarded for this, and any other new project which you are planning to create.
What's IP, and economically rewarded how? Is this a proposition?
@@Winteramen
IP: Stands for "Intellectual Property"
The reward is from the fans.
For example, on the movie SONIC the Hedgehog, the producers listened to the fans to change the main character design after a strong backslash critics from them. That occurs after the complains regarding the awful initial look for this beloved game icon.
In an instance of feel offended, the director recognized the mistake and did all the changes required. As a final result, the fans felt respected. That is why this movie was so successful on the movie theaters.
People needs some escape from politics, on any stuff concerning our daily life. They wants to be immersed in a world of fantasy for few hours, and not to be lectured, insulted, humiliated, or criticized. Specially by a group of selfish arrogant that believes they are godlike, and have the absolute truth. Also, they are totally convinced about their "art" needs to be shown to the "ignorant peasants" of the world so they can finally learn, and be grateful to them, on finally see the light for the first time.
@@3dfreak2000 oh i see
The on- and off-bromance of Johnny and Daniel-san is what I enjoy most about the show.
It's incredible, every time I see Ralph I can't get out of my amazement. He is older than Stephen Colbert and looks much younger than him. I can't believe Daniel LaRusso is 60.
Mt favorite actor
He's 60 looks great. Love the show
Love him so much
Hey Warner Bros-DC/Disney- Star Wars : LISTEN TO THE FANS.
The super rare case where the fan service seems to be working
We are the same age. When Karate Kid came out I had just moved to California. I remember going to watch the movie. Seems like time went by so fast. I moved back to Ohio 7 years ago. Seeing Ralph gives me back special moments of being young again.
People: Ralph was born in 1961. So, when they filmed the original "Karate Kid" (in 1983) Ralph was 21 years old. He LOOKED like a 16 year-old.
John Crease is doing all right too. 75 years young.
He has the gene that will forever be wished for, young
Hope Macchio and Zabka gets more movies on the big screen... They basically was just known for Karate Kid but they can basically play many roles. Same goes for Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith and Chozen
I’m sure he’s sick of the age comments. We get it. He’s good looking and aging well. The show is great and I can’t wait for season 5.
yeah it's annoying that this is a conversation starter in every interview
That's just part of his image now and seeing how he was even in videos making jokes about his age, he's clearly not bothered by it.
He’s 60 but appears to be looking like a 35 yr old, unreal!! 🤩😍
RALPH IS BADASS!!!
I woke up Dec 31st at 5am with acid reflux, and binged all of season 4 by noon :). I love how they capture everything that was great about the originals. I look forward to seeing Mike Barnes in season 5, and maybe even Julie Pierce
I'm soon 38 and I seriously think that I now look older than Ralph...what is going on lol , love ya buddy :)
60? WHAT.
Okay, Ralph Macchio is a highlander.
YAY! Great to see Ralph Macchio again after many decades!!! I was a superfan of Karate Kid!!! :)
If it wasn’t crazy enough Stephen Colbert is 3 years YOUNGER than Ralph Macchio 😳
This guy is 60. No, let me rephrase that: THIS GUY IS 60!
Stephen, why do you condone witchcraft and sorcery?
Thanks to this interview I discovered an Italian-American tradition that I never came across before. The history of our emigration is so complex and diversified... Greetings from Torino!
Your the best...AROUND!!! No one's ever gonna keep you down!
I laughed when he said 60, actually thought that was a joke for a second. He crossed the Brimley/Cocoon line 10 years ago. 😂 Unbelievable.
Karate Kid/martial arts changed my life; inspired and did 8 years of Kenpo. G*d Bless you Ralph Macchio. Thank you for your brave performance in the original film.
This kid has future
I finally started this show a few months ago after hearing how good it was for over 4 years. And, in my opinion the hype was warranted. It’s absolutely fantastic. Maybe it’s because I grew up in the 80s, but virtually everything in the show is relatable in some way. It might look like a grown up 2010’s version of Saved By the Bell, but it’s the most binge-worthy series I’ve come across in years.
Cannot believe this dude is 60 😳
Hope to see more of this kid in the future
He's the best lookin 60 yr old i ever seen
This 60 year old man looks 45 or 50 years old.
Your guest's name is misspelled everywhere. Thanks, Stephen Cobert.
I love cobra kai show its my emmotion. Love from India 🇮🇳
I wonder how long it will take them to realise they forgot the H in Macchio in the video title 😂😂😂
Im convinced ralph is actaully 35 and the original karate kid was his dad
I actually like the Cobra Kai show. There is one thing what amazes me is how the actors did not take time in the last couple of years to actually train for their role. Or at least it does not looks like they did. :-) Except for a couple of them.
I love Ralph and this show is amazing. I hope it goes on forever..
"We'll do it for Johnny!" First movie that made me cry.
Can it be? Ralph Maccio has become the Henry Winkler in waiting?!
This show brought me back to being 4 years old and splurging the original movies at my grandmother's house
I watched season 4 in one day. Had a great time. Love the other cobra kai sensei Silver. He is fantastic
Ralph looks so young 😱
Super awesome to see that both Ralph Macchio and William Zabka were promoted from Co-Executive Producers to Producers of “Cobra Kai” this season👍🏽
He looked like a 15 year old most of his adult life, now he looks like 38.
Kallmann syndrome delayed secondary sexual characteristics
Ralph is a legend! Grew up watching karate kid movies in the 80s as a kid. And now enjoy watching corba Kia now as a adult. They doing a great job on the show.👍🎆
Ralph Maccio, Matthew Broderick and Keanu Reeves, these people never grow old
