"Ear Shot" was the episode that saved my life when I rewatched it in middle school. I felt like Marcie the invisible girl in middle school, but when I heard what Buffy said to Jonathan in "Ear Shot," I felt like she was talking to me. I'm very grateful for that.
Surprised no one really spoke about how good Sarah Michele Gellar was . She brought life to Buffy . I loved watching her emotions run through her face. She never got enough credit for the acting.
I just loved the show. It was so well written. When I was a student at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago guys were talking about watching Seinfeld or some other sitcom. They asked me what I watched, and I said, "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer".
This is AMAZING. I just finished binge watching Buffy again for the 100th time and I need more Buffy. So incredibly nice to find these cast reunions. Buffy Forever 💝
On the season 6 dvd there is a panel discussion with Joss, Nick, James, Alyson, Michelle, Marti Noxon, other writers and special effects guys and so forth. Idk if it comes with the boxset though.
Aww, this was really gratifying to watch. I wish we would have been able to hear more from Danny. They inadvertently skipped him when sharing their favorite/most memorable experience. ..In any case, it was a really cool, informal panel to watch.
This is so cool! I love when the cast/producers talk. Wish more of this was more on dvds or some form of physical media soon in the future again - post youtube is all universe (though I adore it and all, lol)
I wish that Danny had contributed more. Surprised he said nothing when Earshot was being discussed, and would have liked to hear his experience of how it was to shoot Superstar.
I miss James / Spike🧑🏼 🥀💀🥀🤟🏼❤️ Thank you, George K. For sharing the Buffy Cast clip. Can you show more, if there is any more. Joss & the cast & crew, are, & were amazing, & honest.🥀💀🥀
Yep. It's weird how she goes to comic cons and still defends Joss sometimes, or speaks of him positively, while also acting like he is some sort of monster whose name has to be detached from the art he made. I think she owes him, and maybe the whole fandom, cast, and crew an apology for making a mountain out of a molehill 20+ years after the fact. On flimsy "accusations" of rudeness or sarcasm.
This is fantastic, I've never seen it before so thanks for sharing. I have the special edition boxset from 2005, but the UK edition, and like someone said on here , this isn't on there. I was curious where this came from, wikipedia says that the Region 1, 7 seasons box set, 2005, had an extra 40th dvd with special features. This was titled "Back to the Hellmouth: A Conversation with Creators and Cast". The other stuff sounds interesting too, and I would love to see them if you or anyone has it: Breaking Barriers: It's Not a Chick Fight Thing Love Bites: Relationships in the Buffyverse Evil Fiends Buffy: An Unlikely Role Model Buffy Cast and Crew: Favorite Episodes oh, and I'll add to the exclamations of 'shawarma' !
Jose Ramirez I thought someone said somewhere that RDJ was the one who said something along the lines of, "I was supposed to say, 'Did we win?" or something. I knew the line could be better and bigger. So, I had been wondering what shawarma was and that's what came out. I didn't know they were using that take until we got the call for reshoots on an added scene at a shawarma restaurant." I am paraphrasing a lot and that's not exactly what he said, but it's the jist of it. I don't know though. I can see either being the truth. I'll take Joss's word over RDJ's. I think Robert won't let the truth get in the way of a good story. I would like it to be the case that Joss remembered an audition from all those years ago and used it in his blockbuster movie. It would show how good a person he is.
The youtube description does not indicate that this is a collection of the geniuses that created the genius show Buffy. Just to hear Joss Whedon's explanations and recollections are stunning.
"Actually it's very intimidating to be around all of you when none of you work for me anymore 'cause you could just suddenly all attack me." He was joking and it was good natured. Little did he know that he predicted one of them attacking him and the rest throwing him to the wolves. It's sad. He's so clearly not a bully. It's crazy what happened to him.
It's funny. The panel discussion I just mentioned to you yesterday was recommended to me today on youtube. Here is part one.... /watch?v=b45yUN8Oo7A. If that link doesn't work just type in Buffy Panel Discussion 2009 and it should show up.
Kass Ni She was too young to work the hours they needed her to- Sarah was 19 and Katie hadn't turned 18 quite yet. Also, Mercedes Mcnab (Harmony), Elizabeth Anne Allen (Amy), and Julie Benz (Darla) were other actresses who auditioned for Buffy.
I wasn't lucky enough to get the original box set although I did try to bid twice on Ebay (The only thing I've ever bid on). I had to get a new one. My question is was this on the original DVDs or on subsequent reissues? I know I don't have this on my one. If I did which disk would it be on?
Rick Beck yeah, after responding to your comment, I scrolled down to see someone else ask the same, then say not to mind cause they seen in credits. I checked credits, was 2005 :)
My theory behind the title is: Anyone who reads a name like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and DOESN'T get the joke clearly isn't clever enough to enjoy the show and, frankly, they don't deserve to watch it.
34:53. If Joss has any defense for what he is accused of... it is his joking nature. I don't completely believe Charisma, but I do think Joss got carried away with his new responsibilities.
Yeah. David Greenwalt said Charisma's accusations were BS. She has said herself she is surprised people believed her. David said she has made claims like this about other shows she has been on, and he wishes he had defended Joss sooner. She said she was fired, but her pregnancy was written into the show, she just didn't like her story arc, but it was always going to be a villain arc. She wanted Cordelia to get a sitcom for real and end up with Angel. But, that would have turned Angel evil. And, spoiler, Cordelia was told she was going to be a higher being, and that made her vulnerable to possession by Jazmine. Then Cordelia died and came back, basically as a higher power and angel/goddess, to save Angel one last time and to tell him she loved him. That was a beautiful ending. That's not a firing. Trueblood killing Tara off screen was a firing.
And that was over multiple episodes and they brought her back for at least one episode of the last season, even though she had told them she couldn't work nights and weekends anymore on a nighttime vampire show.
I find it retroactively hypocritical of Whedon essential telling people to keep their politics to themselves when in the 2016 election he was vocal about his politics and tried influencing people.
Nah I had the same problem for a time..when I Bangeled myself to death like "WHY BUFFY, YOU BITCH!", so yeah, sorry if I offended , I get your feelings ^^
Why? He clearly didn't do anything to her. She claimed fired her, but he didn't. Her pregnancy was written into the show. All of the claims against him have been debunked. She should apologize.
@@fryke Seriously it was quite an interesting conversation about the show the we all love. Buffy stood out because of it's writing and acting. Loved all the writers experiences specially innocence behind the scenes.
This show deserved to die when they killed Buffy and Joyce and Tara and Anya in the last episode. When they resurrected Angel and gavw him his own shown. And when The first was white washed
"Ear Shot" was the episode that saved my life when I rewatched it in middle school. I felt like Marcie the invisible girl in middle school, but when I heard what Buffy said to Jonathan in "Ear Shot," I felt like she was talking to me. I'm very grateful for that.
Whenever I was in a deep depression I would put on Buffy and feel at home in the company of friends and family, the show probably saved my life too.
Buffy dying for Dawn and giving that "Live, For Me..." speech makes me ball my eyes out and pour my soul on the floor... every time
This show absolutely and unequivocally changed my life. Truly and completely. I am who I am today because of this show.
Surprised no one really spoke about how good Sarah Michele Gellar was . She brought life to Buffy . I loved watching her emotions run through her face. She never got enough credit for the acting.
m blumstein probably no one mentioned her because she wasn't there
Charisma Carpenter, classy lady.
Buffy was and is one of my idols, aswell as every character in the show. They each have lessons to teach.
"You have to go to the dark places."
It's a shame that so many people are either too childish or too afraid to accept that.
absolutely. That's when I think the show really outgrew its fanbase.
I just loved the show. It was so well written. When I was a student at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago guys were talking about watching Seinfeld or some other sitcom. They asked me what I watched, and I said, "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer".
I can't believe this only has 154 views. This is awesome. Thanks for posting.
So that explains the Schwarma joke in the Avengers...
This is AMAZING. I just finished binge watching Buffy again for the 100th time and I need more Buffy. So incredibly nice to find these cast reunions. Buffy Forever 💝
Buffy was awesome loved that show they all have something interesting about them all
On the season 6 dvd there is a panel discussion with Joss, Nick, James, Alyson, Michelle, Marti Noxon, other writers and special effects guys and so forth. Idk if it comes with the boxset though.
Aww, this was really gratifying to watch. I wish we would have been able to hear more from Danny. They inadvertently skipped him when sharing their favorite/most memorable experience. ..In any case, it was a really cool, informal panel to watch.
I think we all know Danny's favorite moment would probably be his spotlight episode "Superstar" :)
the thing is, killing Tara broke my heart
Me too, I really loved Tara. I've never cried like that over something on a tv show before, but this one makes me cry every time!
+India Leib Yeah but the skinning Warren scene was totally worth it lol
India Leib yes, but without it we wouldn't have gotten to experience the AMAZING...........DARK WILLOW!!!!!!!!
So wish Joss would do a Buffy returns show
Such happy times.
This is so cool! I love when the cast/producers talk. Wish more of this was more on dvds or some form of physical media soon in the future again - post youtube is all universe (though I adore it and all, lol)
Whedon a great mind and is great to gathering casts and crews and family and friends.
I am so thankful for this.
Charisma sure has changed her tune since this.
Yep. It's weird how she goes to comic cons and still defends Joss sometimes, or speaks of him positively, while also acting like he is some sort of monster whose name has to be detached from the art he made. Evil Fiends
Buffy: An Unlikely Role Model

oh, and I'll add to the exclamations of 'shawarma' !
Yes, we Swedish people are laughing (at least I)! It was so funny that they talked swedish, really, but it wasn't that good hahaha. But funny!
7o pi p
i just watched this :) I
... Hmm... Interesting... Whedon cast Brendon because of the word Shawarma... Whedon's The Avengers ended with a Shawarma scene... Inside joke?
Joss Whedon mentioned that that line in Avengers came from his memory of Brendon in that audition. It always made him laugh.
Jose Ramirez I thought someone said somewhere that RDJ was the one who said something along the lines of, "I was supposed to say, 'Did we win?" or something. I knew the line could be better and bigger. So, I had been wondering what shawarma was and that's what came out. Was thinking the same thing!
Standing was my favourite song from the musical episode
The youtube description does not indicate that this is a collection of the geniuses that created the genius show Buffy. Just to hear Joss Whedon's explanations and recollections are stunning.
Never shown on TV... It was in the Extras from DVD Box Set
Great interview!!
borgtennis I think Danny Strong would've been a great Xander.
Austin Pearce too short.. I mean, Sarah is short too but Danny wouldn't have been as balanced (edit: I mean with the core 3)
HOLY CRAP
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS
So Joss' post credits avengers scene is inspired by Nicky Brenden?
Other than the reunion, is there any other panels like this with the cast? I finished Buffy yesterday for the fist time and I really miss it :'(
That theme song just BRAKES ME DOWN!
I loved buffy!
its BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and they couldn't talk about buffy as a character or sarah michelle gellar for even 5 minutes? wtf
Woah thank you so much for this! Being from the UK we didn't get this on our DVDs :/
Thanks for uploading
This was AMAZING
Lmao the tense music they subtly play is just great
Lol no problem! :D I can't think of any more at the moment, but if I find one I'll definitely let you know ;)
Thank you very much
Still the best show ever.
im having a buffy the vampier slayer marathon right now.. hurray for me ! ;)...
So that's where he got the whole RDJ shwarma thing at the end of the Avengers.
Love Danny strong
Buffy DVD BoxSet Extras...
This show prevented me from committing suicide. So you're right.
I'm sorry.
Oh my god, thanks! You are the best ever!
Why does 'One Last Moment' from the score album start playing at 49:27 😭
I loved the movie. I mean it wasn't perfect, but it was very good. I have watched it many times and I enjoyed it every time.
SO THATS WHERE THE SHWARMA COMMENT IN AVENGERS CAME FROM 😂 so dumb
"Actually it's very intimidating to be around all of you when none of you work for me anymore 'cause you could just suddenly all attack me." He was joking and it was good natured. Little did he know that he predicted one of them attacking him and the rest throwing him to the wolves. It's sad. He's so clearly not a bully. It's crazy what happened to him.
Ok but Charisma referring to "What's My Line" as "Whose Line Is It Anyway" is so funny.
Everything Joss says makes me fall in love with him more!!!! :'(
Xandar and Cordelia
It's funny. The panel discussion I just mentioned to you yesterday was recommended to me today on youtube. Here is part one.... /watch?v=b45yUN8Oo7A. If that link doesn't work just type in Buffy Panel Discussion 2009 and it should show up.
Hey, JW forgot to say his one line from the show (at the end).
John Doe which one? GRRRRRR ARRRRG?????
So the "shawarma" line by Robert Downey in Avengers originated with Nicholas Brendan in Buffy. Cool.
Is this from a DVD? What Month and Year was it actually first released? Oh, and bless you for sharing!
where did you get this from?... pretty good stuff.
Danny said basically nothing.
Charisma called the episodes What's My Line as Who's Line Is It Anyway... LOL
this is great, but the background music bothers me.
Apparently Katie Holmes was originally offered the role of Buffy and turned it down
Kass Ni thank god for that
Kass Ni She was too young to work the hours they needed her to- Sarah was 19 and Katie hadn't turned 18 quite yet. Also, Mercedes Mcnab (Harmony), Elizabeth Anne Allen (Amy), and Julie Benz (Darla) were other actresses who auditioned for Buffy.
+M22 SMG was 17
SMG was 19 when the show aired in 1997
I loved the movie
I wasn't lucky enough to get the original box set although I did try to bid twice on Ebay (The only thing I've ever bid on). I had to get a new one. My question is was this on the original DVDs or on subsequent reissues? I know I don't have this on my one. If I did which disk would it be on?
Thank you for letting me know :-)
I'm curious to know what year this was done.
+Em Zac The show ran until 2003, and it was clearly over and done with when this was done. My estimate would be 2004/5 somewhere around there.
That's what I was thinking, too. Just wanted to see if anyone had an exact year
Rick Beck yeah, after responding to your comment, I scrolled down to see someone else ask the same, then say not to mind cause they seen in credits. I checked credits, was 2005 :)
Awesome! That makes sense because that's after Angel ended also.
My theory behind the title is: Anyone who reads a name like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and DOESN'T get the joke clearly isn't clever enough to enjoy the show and, frankly, they don't deserve to watch it.
Anyone have an idea when this was filmed??? Thanks!
Brian Crain nevermind, caught it in the "credits"
when was this filmed?
August 10, 2005
Soooo nicholas came up with that line from Avengers... :D
Jane Espenson is everything!
Sad that Norton thinks she ruined season 6 when it is the show's best.
I like Shawarma yummy!!
34:53. If Joss has any defense for what he is accused of... it is his joking nature.
I don't completely believe Charisma, but I do think Joss got carried away with his new responsibilities.
That are the moments in older interviews/panels like these I look back to and I really don't believe Joss was that horrible.

Shawarma!
shawarma!
"Grrrr! Arrrrgh!"
...if this can get to the top comment it'll finish the outro correctly.
Annapolis Brandon where is Andrew's brain when he decided not to marry on it that's my question
I liked the movie, but the series is waaaaaaay better!
The lesbian kiss story....man Whedon rocks....
I find it retroactively hypocritical of Whedon essential telling people to keep their politics to themselves when in the 2016 election he was vocal about his politics and tried influencing people.
I guess you completely misunderstood him, then. He's talking about creating a show here.
He is talking about political correctness which means completely different thing then discussing politics.
Nah I had the same problem for a time..when I Bangeled myself to death like "WHY BUFFY, YOU BITCH!", so yeah, sorry if I offended , I get your feelings ^^
Emma and Joss so had an affair. The whole thing made me uncomfortable.
People speak English ? 😨💔💔😕understand not my...
Charisma sitting in the same room as Joss Whedon, I would not be able to
Why? He clearly didn't do anything to her. She claimed fired her, but he didn't. Her pregnancy was written into the show. All of the claims against him have been debunked. She should apologize.
omg, the writers' chit-chats are so boring.....i just wanna hear the actors lmaooo
In some years (maybe now, since your comment is 4 years old now), you'll hopefully think differently about this.
@@fryke Seriously it was quite an interesting conversation about the show the we all love. Buffy stood out because of it's writing and acting. Loved all the writers experiences specially innocence behind the scenes.

MrBibi86 I believe it was 2005
