Midnight Rambler, musical masterpiece 🎉🎉 Mick is always ready to take the stage and getting the fans amped up. The Stones just know how to deliver on rock and roll 🎉🎉.
This is the Stones , in all their glory, Jagger's Arrogance and Keiths Devilish licks and charm , with Charlie, Bill and Ronnie keeping things in the groove ..this is why the Stones are carved in our hearts...... nice to be with some fine company here ...friends
Oh my GOD!! Just too much and I am so HAPPY watching this. Charlie, grinning and twirling his sticks, barely contained. And Mick with the hat and stance of - what are those puppets called?. And the look, oh for a minute he gives Keith. priceless and one of the great moments that might have been missed if you were in the audience. Just LOVe this!!
You can REALLY hear the bass. Honestly I’d argue that this whole show is for sure in their TOP 10 performances. The set had a buncha tunes they rarely do live (like Ruby Tuesday) everyone is so energetic, rushing around the stage like a caged animal.
Chuck is a little too present for my tastes, a gripe I have with him on more shows / albums with different artists even. Yeah, you're great at playing piano but it's a often bit too baroque for my taste. I'd love for him tone it down a bit every once in a while. (Great guy and player, just my opinion)
@@bakkels A bit too "baroque", what the hell does that mean?!? Baroque is a period (late 1500's 1700's) of what many people call classical music and such composers as Bach came from. So, pray tell, how does this have anything to do with baroque?
@jrcwwl probably referring to the somewhat over the top personal ornamentation of his piano in comparison with other versions, some minor tonality and the trills that were a bit unnecessary. The Stones were spectacular as always.
This is not Chuck Leavell and His Rolling Stones. This is the genuine The rolling Stones. Japanese broadcast Version is bit different. Mick's harp sound is so natural ! ruclips.net/video/SVUNld04U9k/видео.html
Steel Wheels tour. Saw them at Alpine Valley, Wi. Funny how we thought they were old even then and we figured it might be our last chance to see these guys. Looking back, that's what I said back in '78 when I traveled to Chicago to see them in Soldiers Field for the Some Girls tour. Ended up seeing them again 10 yrs. later in '99 at the Bradley Center and enjoyed the show. After seeing them in 2015 at Summerfest Kieth finally started looking and moving like an old man and really couldn't perform leads anymore so I think I'm done and will remember my favorite band as they were here.
After watching them in 2024, obviously in their 80s, it ain't a patch on the live band they were at this point. Charlie and Bill are especially missed. THIS is the Rolling Stones.
I am pretty sure the first time I heard this was Live at Moody Coliseum in November 1969. Terry Reed and Chuck Berry opened for the Stones, who were touring on their way to Altamont for their response to Woodstock....
Saw the Stones at Hoffheinz (or as we called Elvin Hayes) in 73. Stevie Wonder did not play as his drummer OD the night before. Stones did about 2.5 hour show. I think a portion it was on Ladies and Gentlemen.
Also shortly before they started recording in Muscle Shoals for Sticky Fingers, after which they went to Altamont. There's a setlist to be find of that concert at Setlist.fm
Ronnie isn't stoned or high, he's just in child-like awe (like the rest of us) of jagger, richards, and watts doing what only they can do. How Keith pulled this song through with nothing but otherwordly rhythm guitar just makes me wonder if this version is on equal footing with brussels 73 with taylor. In my opinion it is
You make a very good point because a song like this is much easier with someone like Taylor filling the gaps. I think 73 is more fluid and slippery, where this one is Keith’s version
For me the best version is Ya yAs , but that I believe that was overdubbed , the reason that this may well be up on the Top is because nearly all the tracks at this concert are prime full of that supercharged energy that we love about the Stones, each and every member is peaking (as opposed to Peking) well oiled ...so yeah this is one of the best concerts and versions across the board

So many great versions of Midnight Rambler.
How'd I miss this one for 8 years???
The Stones never dissapoint!

'carved in our hearts' Well put. 😍
Charlie is and always will be just to cool for words. Rip🤘❤
今までのランブラーの中で圧倒的に好き!

The best live version of this masterpiece.

I was a stagehand at Alpine Valley in 1989. Stones were great and very polite.
Ive stumbled onto some kind of gem. I put this next to brussels, ya yas & hyde park. What a fucking phenomenal version of rambler!
Uma das melhores músicas dos Stones....um verdadeiro clássico!
It's a treat to see Bill Wyman on bass.
Great show. Old enough to be confident and competent while young enough to be strong and rebellious.
The Best.
Keef! The best guitarist in the band since the mid-seventies!
Awesome version!!! The best song they perform live as part of their set list. It’s epic every time

Altamont.......the show that really did not go well, although was amazing until the fucked up drugged up Hell's Angels violence at the end!! 😮
Also shortly before they started recording in Muscle Shoals for Sticky Fingers, after which they went to Altamont. There's a setlist to be find of that concert at Setlist.fm
