I saw these in the outlet store I was in today but the older version, they were quite cheap to be fair. First time I’d heard of this shoe so thanks for the review on this latest version.... nice and honest as always!
I don't know why Nike makes the forefoot so much more narrow than the Epic. Otherwise, it would be an easy switch from the Epic for a little more rubber, stability, and heel grip with a runner's knot. The Flyknit should help it stretch out a little though. The original was a very stiff plastic-like material that was very uncomfortable if the forefoot was too tight for you.
The first version is amazing. Perfect blend of cushion when runnikh slow and very reactive when going fast. Plus my knees doesnt hurt on these... the only thing weird about it is that my right pinky foot will feel weird sometimes
3 years?!?! C'mon Kofuzi, practice what you preach and go to the doctor! 😉 As for the shoes, I'm currently giving the Odyssey React 1's a try, in part because I wanted to try the React foam and scored a pair of OR1's for $50 during an end of year sale, but also because as much as I prefer the style of Epics, I'm just not that into flyknit... For casual wear, it feels great, but for running, I prefer a bit more structure to my shoe. Anyway, I say I'm giving the OR1's a try because I should've listened to everyone that warned me to go a half size up, but a 12.5 isn't as easy to find as a 12, and I really wanted to score a pair of these at such a great price. However, my feet have taken a (literal) pounding in the 4 or 5 times I've worn them, so I think they are going back. 🙁 Ah well, hope the OR2's work out for you!
I agree that when I was sitting down too long whilst in these shoes, I felt uncomfortable pressure on my fore-foot. Prolly too narrow but it looks slick and trendy ...
some people had issues with the upper on v1. but if that didn't apply to you, and i know some people preferred it, then i think that would be a great idea
I went to try them and I liked them a lot and I discovered a defect and it is the narrow tip to my fingers with which I decided to buy the Nike Pegasus 35 because it is perfect at my feet.
I have the odyssey v1 and I love them for a daily trainer. I use them for 3-8 miles, on longer runs I use the Pegasus Turbos. The flyknit on the v2 looks more breathable than v1. My feet get warm on the odyssey v1. The midsole and outsole look the same as the old version. The upper on v1 is all 1 material. On v2 it looks half and half, I wonder if the back half gives you a better lockdown. I have to use all the holes for the laces to get a good fit. I will probably try the v2 when it gets warmer.
My last couple miles were in the 7 minute mile range, between last year's marathon pace and this year's goal marathon pace. Felt great (other than the hot spot). I was surprised and felt like I had more energy than I should have at that point in the run and this point in the week
Depends on how you feel about the fit in your Pegasus 35. If it's a bit on the too snug side, I'd say size up. But what I really really recommend is trying on in store.
@@kofuzi Yes, the 35s are quite snug on my feet. Will try half a size up. How about in terms of ride quality, do you prefer the Odyssey FK over the 35s?
I think your feet are negatively effected by cold long before a midsole foam gets effected. Putting a shoe in a freezer is very different than when a shoe is on foot while running. I've run in Epic React 2 and Odyssey React In temps around the freezing point. There's nothing that my feet at that temperature can discern as a degradation in foam performance. But I may just have feet that are not sensitive enough to discern a difference.
Hello friend. I weigh 72 kilos and I'm going to medium rhythms and a little happy at medium distances. What do you recommend as more comfort and faster and in general which is better and why the Nike Pegasus 35 or the nike odyssey react 2 flyknit? Thank you
I think the two shoes are pretty similar in use case. I kind of default to the Pegasus, as it has perennially been one of my favorite shoes. And the way I see the Odyssey React is that it is the Pegasus for people who don't like the feeling of the zoom air pocket
Aren, I have V1 for over 6 months and it's my daily Aerobics trainer. The upper is just a bad quality mesh. It will crumble, However will not stretch. Having said that, it does provide a secure fit and better lockdown. I too had to go 1/2 size up, and have similar issues. Hence I don't think V1 are daily running trainers.
i anticipate that the flyknit will relent a little bit compared to the mesh of the v1. but my experience with flyknit is that it gets more comfortable, but it doesn't appreciably change in size
Hi amigo.Probe this shoe and with my usual size USA 9 and squeeze my toes because it is a bit narrow, do I try half size bigger size USA 9.5?. WITH THE Nike Pegasus 35 use size USA 9. What do you think?
I haven't watched professional basketball since the Knicks played the Spurs in the finals. Although, I did take my cousin to a Bulls Lakers game sometime about a dozen or so years ago
@@kofuzi Maybe it's for the better since Knicks have been awful for a while. It's pretty crazy, I had to check when Knicks vs Spurs finals was because I didn't remember it at all; turns out it was in 1999 which is the year I was born. You are old :P
i actually prefer the look of these to the epic react. but on foot, there's something a bit off about them. i think the snugness looks most apparent when looking straight down at your feet
I can totally hear Jameson thinking "great, another Nike review..."😂✌
i think i get a pass on this one since his review came out yesterday

the v1 is a shoe i've seen around at race expos and shoe stores at substantial discounts.
Hey, another blue shoe! 😃 (I dig it though...the mid-foot wrap seems to jive better with the flyknit on that colorway than in some others I've seen.)
i'm just so glad it's not color matched to the Epic React 2
honest review.appreciate your work
Thanks for watching!

I'm hoping the toe box stretches. I'm not optimistic though
If you go true to size, how does your pinkie toes feel?
And finally a nice color!
i dont mind this blue. but i will note that this also comes in a gray and also a triple black
The first version is amazing. Perfect blend of cushion when runnikh slow and very reactive when going fast. Plus my knees doesnt hurt on these... the only thing weird about it is that my right pinky foot will feel weird sometimes
Is it because it is right in the toe box?

Should have went with 13

a little bit

Great video man. It was well informed. It was honest and you convinced me to get a pair. Thanks.
i hope you enjoy!
I love the 1st version, can’t wait to get these.
i think you will enjoy
love your videos im from Perth Australia
thanks so much for watching!
I just picked up a pairs for just 30$ will be using for the next half of the year
Imma stick with my Odyssey React 1

some good options

I prefer the Pegasus as well
For running or casual wear
I had a horrible experience with this model for two days and did a return! The tightness was too much for me and got me blisters! Back to Pegasus 35!
sorry to hear about that.
@@kofuzi its definitely a miss because the shoe is beautiful and the react cushioning is excellent!

I think the warmness was a common complaint of the v1
The first looks so much better IMO
i liked the idea of the mesh, but it seemed like a lot of people had issues with it
Just got Odyssey React Flyknit, best one in the game, had Epic React Flyknit 2, the sole stiffer, had to exchange and settle for Odyssey React Flyknit
if the toe box were so tight, i'd say that i prefer the Odyssey
1st! Haha. Cool review. How does it stack up in speed workouts?

They look awesome
I'm a fan
I would actually buy this since they don’t have flynit everywhere especially the heal area because it begins to hurt if I wear it to long
I think a lot of people will see the two materials as a feature rather than as a budgetary consideration
Go Knicks! Gang gang.
Hahaha!

How is the react doing in the colder weather (freezing and below)? It it significantly stiffer?
Solereview did the test if I'm not mistaken. React is made from rubber, yes it will harden in colder conditions.
@@pijesz Yes, I did read it. I was hoping for some verification of when it got really hard and when it was still acceptable.
