    You might have answered this in a video so I'm sorry if you have.. ill try to keep this as short as possible. I trained in the peg turbos, loved them, but they didn't last long, started splitting where the foams meet. Nike refunded me and I got peg 35s. I really want to like them, I feel like my foot position when I land and all that is really good.. but something about them just doesn't feel right to me. I'm not sure if too hard or too stiff is the right way to describe it... but do you think either the epic react or odyssey react might be good alternatives?

    I feel late to the game. I have about 300 miles on this shoe and wrote it off early as well and it became a Treadmill shoe due to the sock like feel. However, as I broke in the Zoom Fly 3 and falling out of love with the Structures (#bigbonedflatfootedrunner) I'm realizing I had a lot of fast runs in this shoe without realizing it. Now that I have insoles in the Zoom Fly 3 and crowned it my Half/Full Marathon racer, the Odyssey now seems to be the best stability companion trainer shoe.

    Nike also has a legend react which is even cheaper, but ironically enough, the synthetic uppers tend to be more durable and last longer than flyknit. Epic Reacts in general I find are more comfortable to be a daily runner than pegasus or any of the zoom flys

    A note on Flyknit, I bought the Epic React FK which were really(painfully) snug. I was intending on returning them because I figured my foot was too wide for the shoe but since the Nike store where I bought them was out of my way, I decided to keep them. How often they release react shoes? Every year like Pegasus? I only have a Pegasus 35 for everything, thinking to get a second shoes and maybe Odssey React, but I want volt, they don’t seem to release much volt shoes anymore unless you do custom on the VaporMax which isn’t running shoes as they say

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  5 лет назад +3

      they release React shoes all the time. Epic React releases in multiple colors over time. Odyssey React is the same but maybe not as many colors. Then there's Legend React. The Pegasus Turbo has React in it. The Terra Kiger is a trail shoe with React in it. The Zoom Vomero 14 has React in it. The Zoom Fly Flyknit is React. There are basketball shoes with React in them. There are casual shoes with React in them. Releases of shoes with React foam are frequent. Nike is really pushing it.
      As far as Volt goes, the Zoom Fly Flyknit was recently released in a Volt color. Nike seems to be using Volt as more of an accent color though, rather than as a main color, such as we've been seeing with their Crimson. But I think we will be seeing a lot of green/yellow in 2019, so if you like Volt, this could be a good year for you.

    i believe this shoe doesn't work for people with wide feet. i'm typically a 10 wide. 10.5 was snug but manageable for me for the peg turbos (as you've mentioned as well, i also experienced the tightness to go away when actually running). i went with 11.5 in the odyssey reacts (so 1.5 sizes up!!!), anticipating a tight shoe, and i felt like the upper was too tight around the midfoot as well as the base of the shoe being too narrow for my midfoot, resulting in an off-center(?) heel and subsequently a lot of heel pain after even short runs (

      @@kofuzi true the Odyssey React series are all Gross, Nike should invest more money on this to investigate this issue, we are paying hefty price and we are getting Sh!t only their sole is good.Even though if we go one size up while running we wont be having correct grip, I gone one size up from UK 10 to 11 in Epic react 2 I did not the right grip while running.

  • @blurayffan66
    @blurayffan66 5 лет назад

    I can confirm your comments on these running smaller...I ALWAYS wear a size 10 UK in Nike and tried on a pair of these today. The bottom part where the shoe laces start were digging painfully into the top of my foot. I have experienced this same feeling with the casual/street Adidas NMD shoes- another "knit" type shoe so I am thinking they are deliberately made this way to lock them down otherwise they tend to float all over the place. The rest of the shoe fitted fine. So going up a half size did not solve the issue for me- the tightness was not so bad but the rest of the show was way too big. A real pity as they were on sale and really wanted to pick a pair up.

    To people calling this a stability version of the Nike epic react: this shoe is a lousy excuse of a stability shoe. It is just a cheaper react shoe, not a more stable one! Compared to the Nike structure 22, which was my first marathon shoe, the odyssey react nearly destroyed my ankle on my first slow run. If you want a stable Nike shoe: stick with the Nike structure. Forget the react sole. I am currently using the Brooks Bedlam as a more reactive Stability shoe, and the Hoka Gaviota 2 as cushioned stability shoe (and shoe for my 2nd marathon). This odyssey react is demoted to daily shoe to walk around at work ;-)

    OK four minutes of useless intro.
    Very impressed to see so little wear after 100 miles WOW!
    I bought a size bugger, as in store I found my regular size to be too small my big toe was almost already hitting the inner toe front. I figure when running start stopping it would be maxing out. Bigger size didn't seem to big. I usually don't go up a full size ever so i was surprised. Good price cant complain there.
