Thanks! I'm big fan of your channel. Your channel is the best football channel in RUclips, and I was impressed by the play of great players such as Liam Brady, John Charles, and Jimmy Greaves, Zinedine Zidane on this channel. Just amazing! :)

Brilliant defender. Remember so well his great battles with Cruyff in 74 and Keegan in 77. A real nightmare of a defender, quick, intelligent aggressive

I will never understand why so many people belive old football defenders were bad

    • @asleeptillwhen6477

Honestly a lot of games that I've seen before the eighties Defenders give players Acres of space to operate in. space which can be used to form deadly attacks that can lead to your team conceding three or more goals space that if you were to see teams giving that away in today's game you would call the team bad. a lot of players from yesteryear it's not that they're less skilled is just that the tactics that they used wouldn't work today. when you see players giving each other Acres of space to work in you're literally asking to get punished I've seen games for example of Pele in his prime where his opposition literally give them half the field to work. It Just never made sense to me, why give a player that dangerous so much room to operate? it would make sense to close him down as quickly as possible but that really wasn't the case a lot of the time. I've literally seen countless goals of his where he just walked tve ball in completely unmarked. it wasn't until the 80s and the Golden Age of serie a with so many great Defenders that I actually started to personally see consistent proper well-developed man-marking at the highest level. Just my 2 cents.

@@asleeptillwhen6477 Its most likely cause of fitness and training/doctors. Nowadays players can run all game chase after people until the 90th minute, back then you had more time to operate. But also the fitness of attacking players was less so its not really an advantage for either.
But you also have to think, nowadays every small touch is a foul back then players could be rough with you which also made it harder to score you could argue. But either way, there were great defenders back then and great defenders now.

Great player in a great national team, Germany have produced some class over the years. The late great Jimmy Johnstone of Celtic said that Vogts was the best and toughest defender he had played against. Total respect from an England fan. 👍🏻

Che giocatore mamma mia!!! A livello prettamente difensivo una/due spanne sopra a qualunque terzino destro della nostra epoca. Uno dei mastini di quel Gladbach delle meraviglie
Lo aspettavo da tempo. Grazie Barbosa!!

Grazie a te, figurati.

Don't want to be the nostalgic mofo... But I think the late 60s and 70s Germany can really teach the 80s Germany a lot something (weird tense usage considering it already happened, but I feel that 80s Germany was rather overrated despite reaching consecutive finals due to controversies against Algeria and France in '82, as well as the breeze they've gone through in '86 until they faced an exhausted France).
1990 Germany can probably last against '74 Germany until the third quarter of second half.
