Yeah Brad gotta go all in on this and F them Picks gotta get a Super Bowl. I remember folks talking about dynasty but you gotta win a Super Bowl in order to talk about Dynasty’s. It’s Superbowl or Bust.
Well, fortunately we are getting 2 3rd rounders this draft and a second 3rd rounder next year. Brad can certainly use those in a package deal. That said, I think the only piece missing on defense right now is a second Edge Rusher as you had been saying. Z. Smith will be good, great even with Hutch, but he is old and won't be here in 5 years time more than likely. I think it could be easier/cheaper to get this second edge rusher through the draft than trading for someone like Myles Garrett (also somewhat old) or Maxx Crosby. Not only would the trade price be massive, but their contracts would also be expensive, especially when we do have multiple guys who need to get paid in the next 2 years. We trade for one of them, at least 1 of our current guys will be too expensive to resign, likely 2. I don't know if it is necessarily worth it.
Now that the lions lived the fact that offense wins games and defense wins championships, they should know what to do now. Time is now to go all in and focus on a championship defense.
I said last year that Brad Holmes needed to trade for a Defensive Edge Rusher to help out Hutchinson and trade for a CB and what did he trade for Devon Peoples Jones a WR which we didn’t need. This year again I said that we needed to trade for two defensive edge rushers and a cornerback and sell out to win it all. Instead we got 1 decent defensive edge rusher who needed help just like Hutchinson. I don’t know how Hutchinson and Smith is going to look and I wouldn’t mind finding out but if we can pull off 1 of the following either sign K Mack or trade for Max Crosby or Miles Garret
@LionsFanSyndicate Cant wait to watch you go off today on what Brad Holmes said earlier. "I thought we had a good pass rush when we were healthy" HAHAHA Doesn't look like we are getting our wish...brad is still delusional.
This season gave us false sense of winning it all. D you been saying from the beginning we weren't good enough upfront. All them wins made it look that way. But you were right are team was better last year because all the players we got got hurt😂😂
Yes they need to make a big trade. Especially with next seasons schedule. I think they should try and sign cd3 back to have that veteran presence and let terrion and ennis develop more. Personally I'd like to see them get Myles Garrett, I know everyone wants Maxx. To me Garrett plays in a tougher division and had 14 sacks compared to Crosby who had 7.5. Holmes has shown he can draft. I'm sure he can find some late round gems
Draft sawyer, tuimoloau, pearce jr, Carter, or scourton. All potential DE Dogs. Or trade for Garrett or Crosby? All eggs in one basket move is risky. But what fun is there in no risk. Yeah F them picks.
We were talking about injuries when we were winning games lol. Because we knew defensively we could be had 😂. But yes I agree it’s time to put the chips on the table and make a big move. Get another dog on defense who can make plays
Keep in mind the New York Giants were 10-6 lost twice to Dallas, Green Bay, and New England. In the playoffs they beat those same teams to win a Superbowl. With a 9-7 record beat everybody to win it all in 2011-12.
You ever consider hosting a Discord server Derek? Or is it Derrick, sorry if I am spelling it wrong. But I think that would be a great way to strengthen and grow your community.
If winning the super bowl were 10 and making the playoffs were 8. It’s like we want to be 8 every year. If you want 10 then you have to put up with some 4s.
SB win comes down to QB and coaching first. Thats the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about. Will see how JG is mentally next season and the new coaches. Hes not a QB that can play well in mediocre conditions, like Allen, Mahomes and JD. Brad also was the one who wanted Goff and built a team around him to make him "comfortable " as DC said. As we saw with other teams, a good defense cannot bail a QB who doesn't play well in the playoffs.
I’ve seen good defenses bail out bad QB play a ton but it’s more so good QB’s having bad games but the defense steps up. Brady, especially early in his career, was constantly saved by defenses.
But he won twice last year, and we almost , should have, could have made the Super Bowl and it was most certainly not him to blame for the fact that we didn't. We collectively, as a team, along with some horrible luck, choked and blew that 17 point lead. This year was different yeah but last year disproves your theory entirely.
If anyone thinks firing Brad is a good idea you are crazy. He has made some great moves. Him getting Gibbs out smarted 90% of everone. He received so much criticism for that but now it looked genius. Emotions can not run a team.
Im an eagles fan but I like to hear other teams fan perspectives... B4 the Lions 🦁 commanders game I was talking to some commanders fans that were In an NFC East group that the Lions were vunerable on Def.. in the beginning of the season they were beating teams 50 to 21 or 47 to 17 etc etc but as the defensive injuries started to pile up tje scores became more like 38to 31 or 32 to 26 and you saw the difference in not having that top notch def..Def... if you remeber no matter how good Peyton Manning was in the regular season.. it wasnt until his Def stepped up in the playoffs that he won his 1st SB with the colts... so I definitely understand what your saying
If I’m being honest, I’m not sure. We need more good defensive players on rookie contracts, if it’s cheaper than 3 firsts count me in, but 3 firsts is just a lot man. There are a lot of edge rushers in this draft that can be good in this league, if we sign a Josh sweat or mack and draft an edge he can develop for a year and replace them eventually. We also need to invest capital into the o line, getting old and we may honestly need to replace Glasgow, he was a liability in that playoff game
If Brad is the "draft guru" everyone keeps saying he is, then why would it matter if we have good draft position? He should be able to get contributors in any round.
We passed on Jalen Carter, we passed on Nolan Smith . I would Trade up in the draft to grab Abdul Carter. Not trade for a salary that will cost us signing our own
F THEM PICKS!! I am so tired of seeing this team fall short and would much rather have a Super Bowl win than 10: 15-2 wins bounced out in the first round. All my life I can remember this team being a disappointment and I haven’t even been around as long as most of yall. My dad said to me after the loss, “I’m sorry for dragging you into this, 55 years of pain.” Just get us to the dance I cant witness another chiefs niners, or chiefs eagles superbowl
The Browns didnt start over. The Ravens are considered an expansion team that started in 1996. The Browns are marked as having being on hiatus between 96 and 99. The Browns still retain all the history back to creation in 1930 or so. The Browns are still OG.
My dream as a lions fan would be to be awsome for a decades and be an elite franchise. It’s like Jim Schwartz said, get into the tournament. The hottest team wins. I like how the packers and the ravens do it. They have awsome rosters. I don’t ever want the M&M era to ever be here again
Next man up mentality is reckless when you are on practice squad players, they’re on the practice squad as they’re not up to be on the 53 man roster. I really have a gut feeling Maxx will be a Lion, he will play with his hair on fire for Dan Campbell and the Lions. That’s what you want in the locker room. Myles is definitely a top ED but we want a a guy who loves Detroit, The Lions and Dan Campbell. We have an elite talented offensive roster, we need to being that to the pass rush so defenses get off the field. Pass rush will make QBs make bad throws more than a CB making an acrobatics interception. Build the best edge d-line 2025 goal. Championships are won by defense and our double the amount of defensive players vs all teams didn’t help
I was confused when Caldwell didn't pull his team off the field, in Dallas. When Jerry Jones got the Brandon Pettigrew, pass interference call reversed (2014-15) Caldwell should of pulled his team off the field. To be honest, I thought Jim Swartz was a better coach, than Caldwell.
Imagine if we can get Cam Skattebo as a lil Insurance for David Montgomery. I believe we could have a run heavy offense. I just don't know how far down in the draft he goes. A running offense With Gibbs Skattebo and Montgomery would nasty.
@jkperkins4582 Fair enough. Skattebo is more than likely better and we can use Vaki somewhere else. To each his own. Because we are loaded offensively we just can really Change our offensive identity. Plus Goff could really be a game manager.
HEY BROTHER>. IM LIKE YOU THAT AG WAS A PROBLEM. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF JON GRUDEN AS OUR NEW DC.? You got a Super Bowl winner that was known for his defense. Bucs beat raiders with his defense .. I know Jon had some stupid stuff in past but getting passed all that he would be FIRE as a defensive coach along with Dan. Them two would no doubt get the defense solid.!! They NEED SOLID CONSISTENT PASS RUSHERS! OFFENSE IS FINE DONT WORRY>
Even with the Rams saying F the picks for Stafford, they have still been in the playoffs the LAST TWO YEARS! I know in a weak NFC West, but the rest of NFC North would immediately become weaker with the addition of Max or Myles. Get as many compensatory picks as possible and trade them ALL AWAY!
True. And even at the end of this season, don’t know if the Rams could’ve beaten a healthy Lions team, but they beat up the Vikings and likely could’ve beaten the Packers and Bears. Also, go all in for big-time free agents or not, Brad Holmes has to continue to pick well in the draft. Rams wouldn’t have been in the playoffs the last two seasons if they hadn’t drafted multiple players in later rounds who are playing like or close to first-rounders, in addition to getting Jared Verse in the first round.
We need to re sign a bunch of players before you say F them picks .. jamo need signed Kerby needs signed Aiden NEEDS TO BE SIGNED you have a question mark at corner and need more depth at dline so I wouldn't mind one big move but brad continue doing what you do
We never know how long Shelia will stay at her position. If someone else is at that position it’s a possibility Brad Holmes could get bounced and then pics he’s saving will go to the next Gm and that Gm would be greatly appreciated. Not Brad Holmes.
We were not a QB away like the Rams. Long term success gives you the ability to say forget those picks. When has a new GM ever done this? This mean you Trust Goff completely love him but I don’t. What if we fail next year or lose Goff to injury if they showed trust in Hendon then and only then would I be ok with a move like this
There is a decent amount of DE's in the draft this year. Makes more sense to draft a guy, he'd be learning from one of the best in the league with hutch and a seasoned vet in smith. I'd rather spend the money on a vet DB depending on what happens with Davis.
@@jessepressler208 that'd make sense if they weren't one of the youngest teams, most of their star players aren't even off their rookie contracts yet, and the rest signed this year. Not to mention no one actually knows what a full on healthy Detroit defense is going to look like, even more so with a new DC.
@ Not sure what you're getting at...Players generally get signed before their contract ends. Its better to sign early for the Org. to keep the player for cheaper, and financial security for the players. Detroit has done this with most of their players. Kerby will probably push close to 20M on the cap alone.
@inno_17 Kerby and Hutch will definitely eat cap space. However, I do think adding another piece like a Crosby or Garrett would be wise. My point is that this is Detroit's window. The Lions are risking present success by continuing to chase the future.
lets just hope we get the right coaches in place.. I say stick to the draft and keep the players we are drafting... cant afford to lose what we started buy brining in a guy like crosby, as much as I wish we could and enjoy watching him hutch and smith chasing the qb down. Draft the best and then pay them once they prove themselves. We will win a ship eventually with these guys running the show. we got to resign gibbs, jamo carlton davis, barnes," HUTCH " , reader ect cant let these guy go.
Going all in, it's just not Brad Holmes, M.O. he's a second chance, get as much you can, out of the gas tank, before you run out of gas, for as cheap as possible. What I'm expecting is he can to a happy medium, where he finds diamonds in the rough draft picks, who can be developed behind that elite player that gets the team over the top. I agree with you, sooner or later your going to have to pay that elite player, because with our quarterback room showing it must be trash, Garrett Off, window is closing, God forbid, he gets injured. And the longer he waits, he could lose those franchise players to, Chicago, Minnesota or Green Bay. I think it's a personal thing and a personality thing with Brad Holmes, I'm starting to feel like, he doesn't get along with or play well with, franchise type players and their agents. I'm going to start keeping a eye on that, especially like I said we start losing those types of players to divisional rivals
Stop drafting potential and free agency potential we need a Stud defense to get to the next level. Offense can only do so much we need the defense that can give us a stop when we need it.
I mean we got 2 3rd for free from losing a dc who wasnt capable of improving the worsf defense in tbe league for 3 straight years, love that for us. He might be a good hc, but I am genuinely confused how amyone thinks he was a good dc, they werent even good when everyone was healthy, they were average.

@@davidweber-wh2ft No? Thats not at all what I get out of what he said. He's saying NOW is our time to say F them picks and do what the Rams did, back then. Josh McDaniels just got hired as pats oc, I knew he’d be one to get. Holmes had to know Johnson was leaving, I sure hope he’s got something cooking
Now that the lions lived the fact that offense wins games and defense wins championships, they should know what to do now. Time is now to go all in and focus on a championship defense.
Lions looking like the Aaron Rodgers Packers, when you put it that way. lol
I agree, The Giants barely made the playoffs and they went on to win the championship twice
You’re 100% right a lot of times number one draft picks don’t even make it
I said last year that Brad Holmes needed to trade for a Defensive Edge Rusher to help out Hutchinson and trade for a CB and what did he trade for Devon Peoples Jones a WR which we didn’t need.
I’ll trade back to back to back losing seasons for 1 SB win. I’ve been waiting my whole life for them to bring home the Lombardi trophy 🏆
Man I just want a Super Bowl simple .
iv been worried and talking bout injuries all year
Thanks!
Talk about replacement coaches... first, then you can talk about what vets can be available for the new coaches... draft picks are gold.
Draft sawyer, tuimoloau, pearce jr, Carter, or scourton. All potential DE Dogs. Or trade for Garrett or Crosby? All eggs in one basket move is risky. But what fun is there in no risk. Yeah F them picks.
Perfect year to give up a first it’s not a great draft like last years but also Glenn awarded us with a couple thirds
Let's get Crosby, Garret even Hendricks go big or go home.
Yes I believe they should to get us over rhe hump
I really hope having Ben Johnson going to the bears lights a fire under Brad Holmes cuz it looks like Ben Johnson is not worried about the Lions
You make this video twice a week. Never gonna happen
You make this comment twice a week, never gonna care
@@LionsFanSyndicatecame right back
@@LionsFanSyndicate let me know when Brad Holmes gets the lions a superstar edge rusher via trade 😂😂
We need to get past this season.. its over. Its like opening FRESHwounds. DONT WORRY, Our Defense will be back and on BEASTMODE next season.
A good defense certainly can. We had an atrocious defense
But he won twice last year, and we almost , should have, could have made the Super Bowl and it was most certainly not him to blame for the fact that we didn't. We collectively, as a team, along with some horrible luck, choked and blew that 17 point lead. This year was different yeah but last year disproves your theory entirely.
Yeah go get defensive free agency forget them picks
If anyone thinks firing Brad is a good idea you are crazy. He has made some great moves. Him getting Gibbs out smarted 90% of everone. He received so much criticism for that but now it looked genius. Emotions can not run a team.
Yeah 9-8 we was on one!
Good riddance to BENedict Johnson… YOUNG PUNK! 🤨
Not trade for a salary that will cost us signing our own
Nope, never blow yo budget on one ankle/knee
Better to never have a defense and repeat this crap again and again? I don't think so.
Your logo looks just like DetroitDen313 👀
F THEM PICKS!! I am so tired of seeing this team fall short and would much rather have a Super Bowl win than 10: 15-2 wins bounced out in the first round. All my life I can remember this team being a disappointment and I haven’t even been around as long as most of yall. My dad said to me after the loss, “I’m sorry for dragging you into this, 55 years of pain.” Just get us to the dance I cant witness another chiefs niners, or chiefs eagles superbowl
OUR WINDIW IS NOW! F DEM PICKS
We should make a discord server or a group chat for discussion
The Browns didnt start over. The Ravens are considered an expansion team that started in 1996. The Browns are marked as having being on hiatus between 96 and 99. The Browns still retain all the history back to creation in 1930 or so. The Browns are still OG.
we need nothing else to win a championship we j need to be healthy. although if we were to add a superstar im all for it
My dream as a lions fan would be to be awsome for a decades and be an elite franchise.
Championships are won by defense and our double the amount of defensive players vs all teams didn’t help
i wouldn't mind giving up a 2nd and a 3rd of mad maxx
No to the last scenario. When we fired Caldwell I was confused
They drafted running back in the 4th round last year, Sione Vaki
@jkperkins4582 Fair enough. Skattebo is more than likely better and we can use Vaki somewhere else. To each his own. Because we are loaded offensively we just can really Change our offensive identity. Plus Goff could really be a game manager.
I think he resigns CD3 but we gone overhaul the d line we need to be able to get home with 4 unc I feel a significant move coming
💯💯💯 Forget them picks bro!!
Bro you said that last year just what they needed a loss
Goff just chokes in the biggest games I don’t know why
That window is starting to close. In a minute, they'll only feel a draft🕛👀
He could of went all out for a ral pas rusher and nope
We Neeeeeeeed a PR!!!!!!!!!!
Jamo and a second for mad Max!
FTP! FTP! FTP! Forget Them Picks!!!!!😠
We need to re sign a bunch of players before you say F them picks .. jamo need signed Kerby needs signed Aiden NEEDS TO BE SIGNED you have a question mark at corner and need more depth at dline so I wouldn't mind one big move but brad continue doing what you do
I think we are heading to be “the Steelers of the NFC” will make the playoffs, never much further
Steelers still have multiple SBs
@ when was the last time they won? I’m talking recent
Nah thats the Cowboys.
We never know how long Shelia will stay at her position. If someone else is at that position it’s a possibility Brad Holmes could get bounced and then pics he’s saving will go to the next Gm and that Gm would be greatly appreciated. Not Brad Holmes.
First round pick Crosby or Garrett 2nd round trade for veteran athletic LB that can rush of the edge or play off ball that can check RBs and TEs
We were not a QB away like the Rams. Long term success gives you the ability to say forget those picks. When has a new GM ever done this? This mean you Trust Goff completely love him but I don’t. What if we fail next year or lose Goff to injury if they showed trust in Hendon then and only then would I be ok with a move like this
Injuries and turnovers why we didn’t win a playoff game
There is a decent amount of DE's in the draft this year. Makes more sense to draft a guy, he'd be learning from one of the best in the league with hutch and a seasoned vet in smith. I'd rather spend the money on a vet DB depending on what happens with Davis.
@inno_17 if you continue to chase the future, you risk dissatisfaction in the moment.
@@jessepressler208 that'd make sense if they weren't one of the youngest teams, most of their star players aren't even off their rookie contracts yet, and the rest signed this year. Not to mention no one actually knows what a full on healthy Detroit defense is going to look like, even more so with a new DC.
@inno_17 Kerby, Hutch, Z, Anzalone, Jake Bates, DJ Reader, and Jamo all have contracts expiring in 2026.
Too late. This year was forget those picks and we blew it bargain shopping
Comparing last 4 seasons Rams v. Lions, which one would you rather take is just absolutely silly.
Meaning?
I understood what you were trying to get at, but you essentially made the assumption that the 2021 Rams and Lions were equal and one team said FTP and another didn’t, which outcome would you want. Clearly they were very different teams 4 years ago.
@@davidweber-wh2ft No? Thats not at all what I get out of what he said. He's saying NOW is our time to say F them picks and do what the Rams did, back then. At no point did he say they were equal at the same time. But we are now in a similar position the Rams were at the time. We just have a different need than QB (which I know some will say Goff can't get it done but I disagree, since he won 2 playoff games last year. but thats another discussion).
