Our offense is stacked, we just need a reliable defense. When healthy our defense is solid but it can improve like the pash rush which is definitely our defense's weakest point
As an eagles fan I know how you feel in 23’ our defense was so bad I lost hope in anything deep in playoffs. I’ll say this prepare for a bad season you lost your best coach and probably gonna lose more, when your good you get all your coaches poached it sucks dan Campbell I knew would be your downfall dude will never win a SB
@kenlewis5932 your Eagles turned it around after getting humiliated by TB who we beat right after. Getting Saquon made a massive difference with your O line. We already have elite talent that made things Ben did possible. It's not the plan but the execution that makes these plays work. As for Dan he is a leader of men. Your coordinators are your x's and o's guys but you need a head coach people are willing to lay it on the line for. Ben will be exposed as a guy who is not that. Good luck hope your Eagles smoke the Skins... I mean Commanders.
I don't think that is entirely true. Players won't execute at the level this offense has if it doesn't believe in the guy calling the plays. By definition that makes him a leader of men. The real question is can he do it when there is no one else to turn to if what he's doing isn't working. We'll see.
Benedict Johnson had a very healthy offense, AG had 18+ injured and still put up a game plan but the injuries and most importantly zero pass rush and losing our two best corners was catching up and post season was the last of Brad getting players and AG having double IR than any other team.
I still believe that Sheila, Brad and Dan are already on it and will pick good coaches that will lead us forward. I just wish we hadn’t lost Chris Spielman. He was huge in advising Sheila when she started putting this all together
You’re good, cuz! U ain’t off-putting at all! U tell it like it is and i appreciate ya for it. To be honest, u have been helping me TREMENDOUSLY while trying to cope with the way the season ended. Keep up the good work, champ! ✊🏻✊🏻
Dan Campbell gave cryptic remarks on him not being more involved in offense plan per game, he knows Benedict “Cutsey” Johnson was suspect. Go listen to it, he didn’t say defense but singled out the offense. He also wished Jaymo would have ran than throw the ball, that was very reckless for a WR to drop a dime to Gibbs as he was covered. Also I’m convinced Goff was too concussed and Teddy should have taken over for the rest of the game.
All you have to do is watch the broncos, chiefs, eagles pass rush compared to the Lions and its glaring how weak we are getting to the quarterback. We put so much stress on our secondary when they have to cover for 4-7 seconds constantly
Riding with your channel and your honesty throughout the offseason bro. Keep the content coming and build the momentum for Brad to continue building us something great to win a championship next season. Go Lions 🦁 🩵!
I dont think people would blame Goff if it was one turnover or one fumble. It was not thats sugar coating imo. It was 5 turnovers in a playoff game. Do we need a pass rush? Yes, but its not that simple. With how quick Jayden was throwing the ball in second half no pass rush in this world would have got to him fast enough. Coaching lost us that game imo. All 3 coaches and Goff. Heres the ugly truth Goff is not a Mahomes hes not JD. He needs close perfect conditions to play a SB level game. You say he has to be close to perfect? I say hes a QB thats always gonna be true in a playoff game, but he relys on perfect conditions. DC said it himself Goff has to feel comfortable. We need a back up OB that can hang in high pressure to have a SB winning team. Im not saying get rid of Goff but we need to figure out back up OB
There’s a reason why a lot of people including myself thought the season was going to be over after Hutchinson got taken out for the year: he was the only one capable of generating any sort of pass rush. Aaron Glenn was able to put some bandages on it through scheming more blitzes and Brad Holmes had to grab zadarius smith, and it worked for awhile but it left no room for error on the offense and that can’t happen next year or the one after.
Broderick Martin needs to show up this year. I’m past the past now. We need to see progress from our draft picks. We need to get pressure with 4. Not always blitzing. Fix it Mr Holmes.
Brad did not get enough to make up for the loss of Hutchinson. You needed at least 2 really good DEs to make up for 1 Hutch. Good to great players and not off the street.
Also, we need to address linebackers. Yes, I like Alex, and I like Jack Campbell. But, we need some linebackers who are also athletic and fast enough to cover from sideline to sideline.
Brad Holmes 90% responsible. If we would have signed Greenard and Van ginkel or D'Amico autry, healthy pass rushers that were available. Never should have extended Jared Goff we would be done with him now and on to hendon hooker and a modern dual threat quarterback with a live arm and live legs. The other 10% you can put squarely on Dan Campbell not calling time out with 12 men in the end zone is unacceptable! Between greenard and Van ginkel they had 22 sacks both all pros tons of tackles and interceptions for touchdowns, those two would have lifted us over the top and covered a lot of our problems in the secondary.
LOL wow our fans are the dumbest in all of sports. You mean Hooker that was not the backup in the playoffs? Yeah Holmes sucks soooo bad a GM. I mean holy smokes. You listen to way too much fake news bud

Of all the great things Holmes has done he has swung and missed a number of times on d tackles Broderick Martin being the latest disaster If now isn't the best time to go all in then when is it. Love the comment about Gibbs fumble last year no one wants to mention that ever!
The Ben Johnson problem will start to make more sense the longer we get after the firing. He was absolutely the biggest problem, not the pass rush. You cannot outthink your problems. Grit and heart, there are no shortcuts.
I have been tired of him for about a year. We have an elite roster and a very good head coach that for some reason the fake news media doesnt like. Campbell has been able to do what Stafford and everybody else never could. The fake news has already said the lions will lose 12 games and miss the playoffs lol. Now Hutch is not a #1 edge rusher either and Mcneil stinks too.
Had the Lions won that game, they were not going to beat the Rams, the Eagles, or any AFC team still in it, because the Lions could not stop the other teams. Goff and Stafford are the same QB, they both have the same career stats. Stafford in 222 games, 109-112-1 record, 5174 completions in 8166 attempts, for a completion % of 63.4, for 59,809 total yards, for an average of 7.3 yards per pass, for 377 TDS and 188 interceptions, for a rating of 91.2. Goff 134 games, for a record of 87-56-1, 3047 completions in 4646 attempts, for a completion % of 65.6, for a total of 35,058 yards, an average of 7.5 yards per pass, 222 TDs and 94 interceptions. for a rating of 95.7.
I hope Brad hears this video or some Lion’s personnel. The focus is Defense the offseason. Lions need humble competitive superstars on the Defensive side. The wins blinded the fact that defense was still struggling. Great Season but I still have faith they’ll get it together and get that Super Bowl win while DC is around.
Thanks for all the vids my man. The lions were an excellent team, but they were just one of the top elite teams. The bills, chiefs and eagles consistently with all three phases of the game. Can’t wait til next year
Building a defense with big name players regularly is not enough. Defenses are as good as their weakest player because offenses will exploit them in every possible way they can.
Everyone should know by now defense’s wins championships sacks lead to turnovers turnover’s lead to victories our sack leader only played 6 games that’s inexcusable 😊I’ve been riding with ya whole time on pass rushers 😊
Brother D, I agree with you on the need for upgrading our defense! Did I miss something with our O-line allowing a lot of pressure on Goff? I watched him at Cal and my observation is he can get rattled when under pressure and make careless decisions.
Derek i was screaming we need a pass rush, but we had to many guys go down. Tape over leaky tires caught up. I want a powerful D line and O line. Go get healthy players and Researchers to help their players stay healthy. Our teams saw injuries like no one else.
@@greatwhite3676not to mention Wingo, Levi, and Mohammed. These guys don’t get it. You lose basically your top 6 d lineman and people blame the defensive struggles on BH. Do people not realize that Hutch was going off because he had Reader and McNeil in the middle? I guarantee Davenport’s injury was more consequential than people realize.
We have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. The biggest holes are now replacing BJ & AG. And doing so in a way that doesn't give Ben Johnson and the Bears, too much understanding of the Lions schemes, plays, and language. The Next Priority is for Brad Holmes to get as much value as he can in Free Agency and the Draft. Detroit needs to get younger and faster at DE, & DT, to contain running QB's. We need at least 1 starter caliber G to replace Glasglow, cuz he's not cutting it. Getting a G in the draft would be nice, but we need more playmakers on that defensive front. Even when Hutchinson was healthy, he's just 1 guy. He needs help.
I’m with you! I argued with many other Lions fans for months that Rah -Rah and a few coaching tricks wasn’t gonna win games in the playoffs. That talent matters. I got call all sorts of names and was told how to be a fan. I’m not happy that I was right. But to me it’s obvious. Just like you said. It was the lack of consistent quality passer pressure and sacks. When Hutch got hurt the D-line essentially fell off a cliff! That was a huge red flag for the future before many of the injuries started to pile up. You’re right about the massive yards allowed. Even a good red zone defense doesn’t make up for the lost time of possession. As for the secondary. I’ve said it here before. A good pass rush helps the secondary. It helps make interceptions and passes defended. But a good secondary gets you sacks. They are complimentary. But one can’t function without the other. Linebackers are the flex. And finally, if guys say you don’t get emotional over a great reason ending this, you’re fooling yourselves. Then why even be a fan? Don’t go changing brother!
I appreciate the job Brad did the 1st 2 seasons. This year I think we took a huge step back. The lack of aggressiveness in free agency, and the less than stellar draft last year really were detrimental. Signing Davenport, trading a 3rd, and paying over 9 million in dead cap in 2025 for Davis and 2 6's wasn't a great value for a guy who played in 76 of the 98 possible regular season games. Passing on DeJean, and passing on Lassiter 2 times didn't help.
Placing blame is not constructive, addressing the issues and taking care or problems. We need a defensive line and a secondary. This is a team sport so how can you single out anyone in particular. The bottom line is we still have Dan Campbell and he will appoint the people that fill these vacancies. Let's Go Lions! #OnePride
Imagine our safeties and corners with an improved DL and pass rush that causes more opportunities for turnovers. I wanna be sure 31, 32, 21, and 0 eat good next season
100% agree with Brad Holmes needing to step up. Hutch went out mid October and Holmes did nothing until trade deadline and then only brought in Smith, not enough. Even with Hutch we needed more help on the D line. He must do better in free agency/draft this spring.
The lack of a pass rush is only partly to blame for our early exit. Like you said, there's enough blame to go around. But you sound like the lack of a pass rush is ALL to blame. I dig hearing your opinion and I will keep watching you.
Wonder if the people against giving up draft picks for Max, Miles or Hendricks feel the same way now. Hard to get quality pass rushers picking 28th. If you luck out and do they usually take a year or 2 to develop. That's why you get them any way you can when you have an elite offense ready to go.
Preseason we were saying we just need the D to be middle of the pack in terms of overall ranking so like around 14-16 (think they finished 20th) and the offense could handle the rest but the D couldn't even do that. Maybe injuries make a difference in the overall ranking but injuries are always going to happen and they were so lucky last season that they largely avoided them.
Overconfident fans and a dismal culture in Detroit leads to yet another dismal effort in the playoffs. Let a rookie do that to you while you celebrate after a score by grinding your hips into the turf doggie style. You guys have a lot to learn and a long ways to go.
Me too. I’m an Ohio St fan and Jack Sawyer is a Dan Campbell type player. They should take him at #28 and we should get a DT at #60 and cause you can find and draft a good G in the 3rd round. We need to reload in the trenches.
Brad Holmes delivered the players for a great defensive line. It isn't fair to say injuries aren't an excuse when in fact they were. Our defensive line stacked up against the run, applied pressure, and got sacks until Hutch and McNeill went down. Hutch was on a rampage. Holmes knows what we need and when we need it. No team can have it all all at once.
It's not a winning formula to expect the offense to be near perfect and commit no turnovers because the defense cannot stop the opposing offense. Did it work this past regular season? Sure, for whatever little that actually means. It was never going to work in the playoffs though. Our offense, when playing at its best, is quite literally the best in the NFL currently. We just need help on defense. The Lions super bowl window is still open, and I hope Brad addresses the many issues with the defense before it closes. If he does that, and with a little luck next season with the injury bug, I believe the Lions can win everything next year. Just imagine a fully healthy Lions team, especially if we address the pass rush and sign someone like Crosby or Garrett. I don't want to say the Lions would be unbeatable, but it would certainly be a winning formula.
You’re really going to disregard DJ and Alim like that? I wish everyone was healthy, then we could give Brad a fair shake with how this season went. It’s not brads fault everyone went down the same as it’s not AG’s fault. Brad does need to stop signing guys with an injury history. That’s fair enough to say.
McNeil isn’t injury prone and he got hurt, or how about all our LBs who got hurt? None of them were injury prone. I guarantee just having half those guys on the field would have been the difference
I would have to say that the entire team is to blame. you can’t pick out one person. There was a lot of mistakes in my opinion some bad playcalling offense and defense. Washington out played us a lot on special teams.
I don't know. The Lions defense was pretty fricking solid before Hutch went down. Even after we lost a ton of other D players our depth chart helped us stay competitive. Getting some more DE help can never hurt, but it's not a high priority in my book. Brad needs to keep thinking down the road and get guys we can train up who fit the culture.
Derrick I agree with about Brad Holmes and him needing to be better at bringing in Defensive talent but the argument our defense gave up 45 is not completely accurate. Goff threw a pick 6 that's only 38 points and the affect of having to have a wounded defense out on the field with 3 other turnovers plays a part in this too. We need to hold BH accountable but I saw mahomes win his first superbowl with a below average D.
I think Brad Holmes has us going in the right direction but for another season, I think we lost when during the trade deadline, we didn’t make a bigger impact and treat this like a win now season.
You are so right, our offense is going to be fine. Holmes and Campbell in the draft and free agency need to stop looking for potential they need a stud defense. Stop being cheap about everything draft STUD'S and bring in STUD'S in free agency this is only way we get to the next level.
We turned into the Bengals!! Offense is nasty. Goff Is a great QB! We just got too comfortable with too much pressure and a defense that couldn’t stop a play!
I feel like Brad Homes will acquire either Max Crosby, Miles Garret, or TJ Watt via trade to silence things and bring back the energy back to the Lions.
Our offense is stacked, we just need a reliable defense. When healthy our defense is solid but it can improve like the pash rush which is definitely our defense's weakest point

We need at least 1 starter caliber G to replace Glasglow, cuz he's not cutting it. Getting a G in the draft would be nice, but we need more playmakers on that defensive front. Even when Hutchinson was healthy, he's just 1 guy. He needs help.
Agree my friend…
I don't blame injuries at all. We could've won that game. Turnovers and bad play calling.
Aaron Glenn is gonskis!
good now we get some extra "muh racismzz" picks
As far as the offensive line. Brad Holmes needs to go out and get a couple of fast and athletic offensive left tackles.
No lies told. This needs to be a wake up call for Shiela and Holmes to fix the defense if they really want a Superbowl run
The lack of a pass rush is only partly to blame for our early exit. Like you said, there's enough blame to go around. But you sound like the lack of a pass rush is ALL to blame. I dig hearing your opinion and I will keep watching you.
I will acknowledge u that im also been in for a pass rush
We definitely need to play our starters in the preseason at least part of the game
Wonder if the people against giving up draft picks for Max, Miles or Hendricks feel the same way now. Hard to get quality pass rushers picking 28th. If you luck out and do they usually take a year or 2 to develop. That's why you get them any way you can when you have an elite offense ready to go.
Luckily this draft is stacked with pass rushers, hopefully after tha frade for Z brad has finally shifted his focus
Yeah, spot on Derrick. Imagine if our defense was just average, 15th or 16th in the league in all categories, just straight average with our offense.
We were a like a 10thish rank defense before all the injuries
Overconfident fans and a dismal culture in Detroit leads to yet another dismal effort in the playoffs. Let a rookie do that to you while you celebrate after a score by grinding your hips into the turf doggie style. You guys have a lot to learn and a long ways to go.
I want Jack Sawyer
And Hutch now all of a sudden hes below average. Our fans and local media are the worst
McNeil isn’t injury prone and he got hurt, or how about all our LBs who got hurt? None of them were injury prone. I guarantee just having half those guys on the field would have been the difference
We need a big time middle linebacker and a big time Defensive end
The whole team is to blame, from the coaching staff to the players. It takes a village, win or lose
They need to draft a defensive end with their first pick...
jack sawyer 💪
He’s a great orator - wats yo birthday Derek
I agree 💯
100% agree it starts with the four guys up front i begged for CARTER 😂🦁🦁🦁
Our defense needs a little more depth, but really they just need to stay healthy
If the QB is the most important person on offense, a pass rush is the most important part of a defense. We need pressure to stop elusive QBs.
I agree this year Holmes needs to shop at a different place that's not called Dollar General:) His time is NOW!! Keep it real Derek!
We need max crosby
I would have to say that the entire team is to blame. you can’t pick out one person. There was a lot of mistakes in my opinion some bad playcalling offense and defense. Washington out played us a lot on special teams.
You were telling us since the first game that Hutch can't do it all, and you were right!
Yo AG just got the head coaching job in New York
I don't know. The Lions defense was pretty fricking solid before Hutch went down. Even after we lost a ton of other D players our depth chart helped us stay competitive. Getting some more DE help can never hurt, but it's not a high priority in my book. Brad needs to keep thinking down the road and get guys we can train up who fit the culture.
If we don't have as many injuries next year on D this will be a very good defense. Get Barnes, Mcneil, Hutch back.
💯
Derrick I agree with about Brad Holmes and him needing to be better at bringing in Defensive talent but the argument our defense gave up 45 is not completely accurate. Goff threw a pick 6 that's only 38 points and the affect of having to have a wounded defense out on the field with 3 other turnovers plays a part in this too. We need to hold BH accountable but I saw mahomes win his first superbowl with a below average D.
The have to get stronger in the middle, that got them exposed in the divisional round
100% agree. Please keep doing what you do. One Pride for life.
So true our d line has yo be scary to win
This year we get our de
I feel like Brad Homes will acquire either Max Crosby, Miles Garret, or TJ Watt via trade to silence things and bring back the energy back to the Lions.
100% Derrick
