I love watching a woman restorer . .its so different to watching guys who never explain their process or admit to mistakes . .beautiful impressive work . .well done !!!!!
I love it! It’s opulent as intended. To the nays on the wall paper, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it really works with this piece and the look you were going for. Nicely done! I hope to be able to join you challenge next year. 😊
Thank you! I thought the paper was quite fitting for the piece. 😊 The next challenge is in October. If you are on Instagram, I’ll start advertising it in September. 🙌🏼
Lisa, you have outdone yourself. Bravo! And I appreciate that you take the time to film the work and process and you add all of those links to all of the products you used in the description here. No doubt that takes a ton of time. God bless you and THANK YOU for this inspiration!
Beautiful work!! I'm SO glad that someone else (other than me) occasionally opens that proverbial "can of worms". How you kept from screaming and tearing out your lovely hair shall remain "our" secret -- must come with experience, especially the wallpaper disaster and subsequent recovery!. Life is hell on artists, but the triumphs are delicious, as is this restored and enhanced bar cabinet.
Love how you hung in there and kept at it. You demonstrated that you have to be very zen to refinish and update antique furniture. I struggle with this aspect of this art form.
I think this might be my favourite piece you’ve done so far! First of all, that wood grain is out of this world, just stunning. Your choices with where the paint went and colour are perfection and that drawer paper just takes it to whole other level. I couldn’t love this piece more! I personally think when you consider that this is a vintage piece that has been restored and artistically modernized to this level you shouldn’t have any trouble getting 4K for this-Remember we might not be people who pay 4K for furniture but there are PLENTY of folks out there that do. And this piece would be worth every cent. You really have outdone yourself on this one, Lisa! 🤩✨
It’s definitely hard to go wrong with this stunning wood grain unless I painted it 😳 I contemplated reveneering the trim, but my inspiration pieces had painted trim and I really thought it set off the wood. I have a few tweaks to make and then I’ll list it. We’ll see ☺️ Thanks Natalie! 🤩
@@ivylaneinteriors I thought you might reveneer the edges but so glad you didn’t! Your paint touches with the blue/ black and the gold and then the drawer paper, eeee, just so classy 😍 Good luck on the sale 🍀
Lisa! It is one of the best if not the best piece I’ve ever watched being transformed! Stunning, and more. If I had it I would pay you 2k. You actually deserve more for how hard you worked to make it perfect- and that, it is. Bravo!❤
I am loving this project, I think the learning curve is great to see. We all know that some projects have a bigger curve than others. I just picked up a furniture piece that I’m turning into a Bar Cabinet,, wish me luck. I’ll shoot you a before and after. Keep the faith darlin, we all have theses days 😂
Oh Lisa…do I like it? It’s magnificent! The wallpaper! 😍. The paint accents..🤩 that wood grain! 🎉. Unbelievable piece. And I love that you discuss the probs along the way. Congratulations on this one…it will be difficult to part with I’m sure. ❤❤❤
Jaw-dropper of a piece! I felt your pain when the gilding wiped off; I just had that happen to me last month. Thank you for showing your whole process, mistakes and all. It’s very helpful for newbies like me 🙏 Love your work!!!
Most beautiful piece you’ve ever done! The wood is beautiful and the wallpaper was genius. So sorry you had so many setbacks but the end result was worth it.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!! BREATHTAKING!!!!! The hardware are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The painted areas are emphasizing the beauty of the structure of this piece!
I have recently stumbled upon your channel and confess I am BINGE watching it! The amount of work and SWEAT you put into each piece you do is both amazing and inspiring. I'm off of work today and plan to bing a whole nother set, lol. I'm not stalking! Just another furniture flipper that wants to support a fellow artist!
Every project is a learning experience. And when you want the final result to be perfect it takes time and sometimes several tweeks. As you mentioned, when doing things the second (or third) time it is usual better and easier. Very nice results!
Stunning. I did love the original hardware and I thought you could have made them gold and they would have been beautiful but your choice is extremely nice too and I understand about it being more modern. I also really like the gold pinstripes but I’d prefer if they were more opaque because they appear like something that is worn away and needs updating. With the crisp, clean lines of everything else, I just think that one detail of making the gold pinstripes opaque would make this piece absolutely perfect. You have done amazing work.
Everything you touch always turns out stunning! I love the added touches of the gilding, how the wood grain gets to shine with the cabinet shut and then the pop from the wallpaper once it’s open. It probably doesn’t hurt to start out at $2k but I was thinking around $1,500. Amazing job!🤩
Totally stunning, this is such a gorgeous paint color with that gorgeous wood grain. I mean wow❤❤❤ ( I still think that a teal paint color with the coal black mixed would've have been stunning too❤)
Absolutely stunning! You really did a fantastic job on your piece. When you were showing pictures of all the other pieces I was blown away. So many beautiful designs. I think these challenges are awesome!
This is absolutely amazing ❤ the colour, the wallpaper and you showing and sharing everything with us, the what went wrong, the how to remedy it and explaining the different ways to fix these problems, so thank you ❤
Wow, wow, wow Lisa!! This looks STUNNING!! 🎉 This does look like an English drinks cabinet similar to ones you would find here. I’m about to start working on one where the wood grain looks like a woman with flowing hair!! This one really did test you, but you totally smashed it, and I truly believe mistakes are just opportunities to learn, even though they are frustrating as hell! 😂😊
Holy cow 🐄 What a stunning bridge of original art deco to art deco today! The wallpaper is to die for - the geometric design is spot on 🤌🏻 I think I would have liked the mirror, only because it’s a little dark in the back & I dig the bar cabinets like that with their mirror. I love how the paint changes color - is it black? Is it navy? and it makes you look, you know? Don’t ignore me because I. Am. Fabulous. SO good! 💙🖤💙🖤💙🖤💙
