Jerry Lee was OUTSTANDING when he was with Sun Records and fortunately Sam Phillips recorded a TON of his songs ( l have them all ) He didn't become a Wild Man until after the fiasco with his cousin.. l'm sure he was let down and angry.. and l think his anger, ego, alcohol and drugs got the best of him. l lost interest in that period... but fortunately l have all those Sun recordings and he is still my favorite recording artist from the 1950's... no one else came close ! l am truly amazed that he lived as long as he did !

I am a full-time musician now and have always considered Jeery Lee the most talented of the r n r musicians-his piano talks, vocally he goes from r n r to country like he owns the songs. And so stylistic-always himself. Even Elvis could not cover as much territory musically . And I do love Elvis' earlier music-have all his records-Jerry Lee's too. Little Richard too.

Jerry was my husbands idol. Once he got up on stage (he planned it). Security made him leave the stage. As my husband walked off the stage Jerry said “now there goes a good man”! Later after the show we went through the receiving line. My husband shook hands with him and he was so excited that he squeezed Jerry’s hand a little too tight. Jerry said “you’re not only a good man, you’re a strong one too”. My husband passed in May 2022 at the age of 78. Not long after Jerry met him in heaven. Jerry Lee was an awesome person!

It was legal with parental approval and a product of very hard times, where young people were forced to grow up early and get out on their own. It had changed in other areas by the time he married her and that caused the problems for him. Elvis brought Priscilla to live in his home at fourteen and Loretta Lynn was married at thirteen. Very different times from now, but kids were more mature at an early age back then. Kids today are not given responsibility for their own lives now until they graduate college, whereas in the mid fifties to early sixties you were expected to get a job and pay your own way by sixteen at the latest.
