Tyrod Smith has not played a full 16 to17 since 2015 so we definitely needed to get a offensive tackle
100% one plus to Tyron tho he doesn't miss playoff games
He's been healthy when it matters most but I think hearing them talk about meeting with the Cowboys to figure out a training regiment to keep him healthy was a tip of the hand
@@nicholasmoser1918 that’s a huge plus, but you have to prepare for worst-case scenario
@@JetsTalk247 that is true, but we also do have one of the worst offensive line coach so we have to prepare for worst case scenario and on top of that the MetLife field so I’m just glad that we got that secured
OL is what I wanted even though it’s not as exciting. Important for this year and for the future. Come up and get receiver today!
wanted one of the top 3 WRs but this was a smart pick
Boom! Great call, Ryan on Malachi Corley. Let's go!!!!
Thank youuuu!! I got a few more gems in the pipeline!
@JetsTalk247 Round 4 would be interesting, and the Jets could consider looking at a QB, either Spencer Rattler or Jordan Travis.
John Harbaugh said when asked why he went T and not weapon he responded "T is a weapon" 💯. We cant say on 1 hand "this move isnt for now...its for the future" BUT on the other hand say "both our Ts havent stayed healthy and are GONNA miss time". If that last statement is true, then Olu is def gonna be useful NOW, but at least if we're wrong (and he doesnt play) then that means Tyron has exceeded our expectations, which is also a win.
That's a good way to look at it! OL, traditionally has a tough time transitioning to the NFL though so we may have to temper expectations initially
Great call on YAC
Jets needed o-line help more than "a weapon". If the line hadn't been trash, this team would still have future pro-bowler Zach Wilson.
Trading down with Vikings was great to add in another 4th and 5th rd pick. I did want to see them to take Bowers but I understand why they went with OT. He has a great mentor with Tyron Smith.
I would have only been upset with defense lol
watching the draft day 2, I love how they pan over to the fans after every pick like they know anything about the player that just got selected😂😂.
they are cheering for position probably
First: I would love to wheel and deal for a round 2 pick this year. (Someone who will see the field) Second: I like Rice, and would love to bring him into the fold. (Roman Wilson is someone I feel is going to be drafted by the chargers with the JH connection). Third: Corley is interesting, but I would like to see what Gibson can do with Rogers under center.
AYYY WE GOT MALACHI, WHAT IS HAPPENING RYAN 🤣✈✈
I want Johnny Wilson if he falls to the 4th, he’s a massive human and he’s sneaky fast.
If the source is to be believed, Hackett does not like Johnny Wilson. We shall see though!!
Bro olu is going to be our 3rd down Rb standing next to Rodgers in shotgun picking up blitzes while breece runs routes
If pass pro is as good as advertised he can beat John Simpson, at worst he upgrades our 6th lineman packages prob ~150 snaps
Would love to see that! OL traditionally has a tough time the first year or two
I agree with 2 out of 3 of your picks. I’d take WR Malik Washington from Virginia. Dude is electric 🤘
I debated making a 4 person list to have Malik on it but felt he was 4th rounder
@@JetsTalk247 fasho. I just wasn’t huge Rice fan, his pops was great tho. Fired up bout Malachi!!🤘
I want Troy Franklin
Still there!
Great pick 👍
Thank you for saying that brock bowers would be good for the time being AROD but we need longevity with the OL especially that AVT has been hurt the last few years just in case we need someone who can jump in and especially that Tyron Smith is order can’t bank on him to play whole season
OL was a smart choice, love the Corley pick too
Could care less about a sexy pick you win with O line good job on Yac king I don’t watch college football like that looks like a good pick here he’s like a Deebo Samuel type player
We don't need all these late-round, project picks.. Need to grab a second round receiver 💯
Hoping we move some picks around!
😊agree about Corley
Not the tackle I thought we would necessarily take, but is the best long term prospect at the position. I like to hear he's comfortable playing other positions cause that's kinda why I leaned towards the guy from Washington or Oregon State. I know we're going to have injuries and wanted somebody that could plug in anywhere. I'm fine with it after Odunze went and we added some ammo to hopefully trade up for a weapon tonight. After Rome I didn't see a ton of difference between the rest of the round 1 WR's and the guys we can get tonight.
I love he's open to play wherever
@@JetsTalk247 Now we got Corley! looks even better
Blake Fisher ND. Day 2 hope
Best pick in years WE ARE
Would love to get Rice, but if he is available
I could see a double dip!
They can rotate like the Dline does. Everyone stays fresh
Smart pick but all the jets had to do was lose to the commanders and they would of had one of those receivers. Hopefully we can pick a weapon day 2
I’ve been into Malachi Corley for so long, but Underdog NFL did a great video on him, you should check it out. It opened my eyes a lot and made me much lower on him, unfortunately. Apparently, his metrics for plays w/ contact (as in running routes when pressed) were really bad. He doesn’t seem like a guy who can really make plays running routes outside of screens. I think he looks sick, but the metrics were really concerning. I think I’d put other receivers ahead of him, personally.
I saw that video too and they have it wrong, they got his " official numbers" from some guy on Twitter, I commented the following on that video
Don't know where you guys got 4.56 40 from? All the sites I see say it was 4.47 and under, with some even saying he ran "against pretty strong winds" . A simple Google search guys. Nice try. Also was reported to be 215 at the pro day , not 207. Dude is a tank, he also hit 225 on the bench 27 times! With the new "hip drop" tackle ban and new kickoff rule, I seriously doubt he makes it to round 3
@@Jets_707 I will be stoked if we get him, just think he has more bust potential b/c he’s not a normal route-running receiver. But I agree, dude is so cool. So many cool receivers left. I can’t wait to see how we play this!
Keon Coleman
No on Corley he's Mecole Hardman without hardman's speed. Basically a gadgets player.
My buddies son plays for WKU and I've seen Corley up close. In practice and in games.. and you couldn't be more wrong. And that's ok. It's draft season and there are hot takes everywhere we look. I'd take him before Roman Wilson.. and I love Roman.. considering I'm a Michigan fan.
God Bless you Ryan Jesus is LORD!
The Jets did the best given the situation. It would have cost too much to move up get a Marvin Harrison Jr. All the top 3 receivers were taken. Other than the Vikings no other team was willing to trade up so the Jets can trade down. Fashanu is a better overall value and need for this team than Brock Bowers (not saying that Bowers will not be a superstar).
I like Fashanu, I'm glad he gets to learn behind Tyron. OL usually takes a year or 2 to feel comfortable
Knocked him down your board because he never played guard or RT? He's a franchise left tackle dude.
I had the same grade on him as Latham, Fuaga, and Fautanu. I guess you could call him OT2d? Lol not a bad player, I just felt someone who can play both positions helps us more for the now.
Him saying he'd play more than just OT throws him at the top of that list though.
Anyone that is complaining about this pic either hasn't been watching our team for the last couple years or doesn't use logic
Olu Fashanu ideally wouldn't play a snap this season? How is that? You plan on trotting out that terrible o-line?
we should trade up to get cooper dejean
No more 2nd Round Wide Receivers. 😂. Just don’t draft a running back or offensive line. Sign Corey Davis
Agree on everything but your last sentence. Corey Davis!!!??!! Been there done that. He’s brittle and simply can’t stay on the field.
Another 1st round pick that won't see the field
