I always wondered why the volume of the bass in the intro was so low and didn't even get a chance to build up before the much louder guitar riff came in... now I realize it's lucky to even be there after watching Dave's interview about the writing of this song LOL
The thing is, you probably just think that because you were listening for it. You’ll never know because you thought, “I gotta hear that intro that Mustaine complained about!”
This is a Megadeth song, can we keep the discussion to Megadeth please? We don't need to keep bringing up this feud. And just for the record, Lords of Summer is a demo recording.
It's simply outstanding how amazing this song is. After all this years and keep releasing such anthemic, epic masterpieces like this one it's a testament to the band's talent. I don't really care about the experimenting in the rest of this albums songs, since "Kingmaker"s like a way of saying "Here you go, this is proof of our craftmanship in Trash Metal, now let us experiment with this album in peace"
The fact that this is the opening track on the album I think the base intro really helps it be like an album intro and if this track was in the middle of the CD it wouldn't be needed because it would probably be better just hitting heavy right out of the gate so I think it works
Each song on this album has at least one really good riff, but I feel like if you took all the good riffs on this album and put them together, you'd only have one old school megadeth song. I miss when dave pushed himself musically and made everything as complex as possible instead of sticking to really boring streamlined pop song structures.
Endgame was ok, it felt like a kind of soulless version of Rust in Peace to me. It was certainly better than Supercolider. I wasn't terrible fond of 13, either, its just a small step up from this one. The last album I really loved from them was The System Has Failed (which was fucking great) think its totally possible that Megadeth can redeem themselves, and more likely than Metallica suddenly getting good again, but I'm a little discouraged.
***** I really wasn't fond of Endgame myself at all really. Like I said, it felt like a soulless attempt at doing Rust in Peace, and it was missing something and just doesn't do it for me. I wasn't into 13 at all. United Abominations was decent, but nothing special by any means. just acceptable. I love the System has Failed. Last really good album imo.
I liked the single version of Sudden Death. They fucked up the mix and stuff somehow on the album version. never really got into any of the other songs from 13 though.
So your another Megadeth fan boy that has to bash Metallica to cover for Megadeths mistakes. Your a typical fan boy. Nothing new here. Your all the same
Nah, you're putting more into it than there actually is. I enjoy Metallica (heck i'm wearing a Metallica t-shirt right now). But it's been a while since they put out anything i cared to listen to.

Its interesting how the bass riff intro sounds like basically what is played in bar chords after da choppa
Dave was right about the intro
The thing is, you probably just think that because you were listening for it. You’ll never know because you thought, “I gotta hear that intro that Mustaine complained about!”
anyone else here to listen for the ellefson part of the intro that mustaine doesn't like?
This is a Megadeth song, can we keep the discussion to Megadeth please? We don't need to keep bringing up this feud. And just for the record, Lords of Summer is a demo recording.
The feud will never end. The Megadeth fans are keeping it alive. Metallica fans pretty much stopped caring
The bass at the beginning is awesome!
Who's coming here after Dave's recent comments?
This is easily a top 10 Megadeth song for me. And Super Collider is an underrated album.
No, just a bad album with some good songs
The album is terrible, But this with Dance in the Rain are the best of the entire album
I love the entire album.
It's a good song, but there are at least 40 songs better than it
Great that you have your own opinion
Sounds like Children of the Grave from Black Sabbath
Complete with Ellefson’s intro bass line that Mustaine hates but left in anyway 🤷♂️
children of the kingmaker?
The verse melody in both songs are the exact same,
Children of the Dave
Dave loves Sabbath so this is an inspired song... so what? Just enjoy it ....it’s great
I wonder if it's an intentional allusion...
Funny cause I thought these lyrics are pretty Sabbath-like
Omg love this Megadeath
deth*
Thank you!!! I freaking love this album
I'm a Metallica fan, I'm a Megadeth fan
So if we have to hate on something, let it be Black Veil Bullshit
Thank you.
+MultiEneka or lets just not give people shit for enjoying music they like. why tf do we need to hate something?
metallica is lighter than shit
+SonicCarl0411 I've taken some pretty heavy shits.
+MultiEneka why not all the metal core?
Each song on this album has at least one really good riff, but I feel like if you took all the good riffs on this album and put them together, you'd only have one old school megadeth song. I miss when dave pushed himself musically and made everything as complex as possible instead of sticking to really boring streamlined pop song structures.
Endgame and thirteen are great albums though. Super collider was bad but i think they still have it in them to create a great megadeth album
@@chuzzman42 ...death magnetic beats any Megadeth album after countdown
Dave E's intro sounds like something Tool would write
Megadeth songs always had a groove to them. This one is no exception. Just saw them live and they kicked ass.
Had to come here after listening to "Lords of Summer"
Exactly the same here.
I'm not jeje...
John Walhan you jumped to so many conclusions.............it's a wonder if you didn't break any knees or ankles :/
my favorite song on supercollider!
Children of The Grave
The groove in the verses are absolutely unbeatable.
So mustaine said the intro riff was ellefsons riff and it was stupid? I thought it sounded good.
I love Ellafson's bass intro!!
Haha yeah. If Mustaine hated it so much, how come he didn't take it off?
Best part of the song.
Dave, you're already the King!
It was the most exciting 18 seconds for me to wait the song to start. wow Dave! How you rock like this for 30 years!
Dave, stop acting edgy for no reason. This is great.
This songs has a bluesy feel to it with metal mixed in , nice ZZTop mixed with Megadeth . ZZTops la grange mixed in anyone?
Mustaine complaining about the beginning lol
This makes me feel tough, Love Dave,
Super Collider is very good album in my opinion!
I wish dave mustaine was my dad
Stevepwn Productions he is
Lmao
He is your father, for all who truly believe in dave are his children.
I wish I had a dad.
