1st As a Pipe Fitter Foreman with over 25 years experience, if I had a worker doing this, I'd fire him. 2nd Where ever this is happening, they need to update their standards. That pipe may have been Schedule 10 at best. Flimsy, real flimsy. Schedule 40 last for 50+ years. 3rd Why not simply cut back enough to use couplings and appropriate fitting there after. When done, patch the hole or dress up the area to make it look good. That being said, wherever this is happening, their standards are lacking, this may work. Not for long, but for a little while, it might work. NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS IN THE USA. Code Violation.

I'm pretty sure this is not plumbing. That gray pvc is electrical stuff it looks like. I know there was a water pipe in the video at one point. The electricians have a big heater that the pipe goes in and then you can bend it. I seen them do all kinds of offset and slight turns by heating the pipe. Its crazy looking. Then it cools down and is back hard as hell. White pvc don't do that. When you heat it and try to bend, it tries to go back straight when it cools.

It does not ruin the integrity of the pipe.. FYI all PVC pipes are made through heating of the material... The integrity will only be compromised if stretched beyond limit... Plus, these are domestic pipes, at most its only about 45-55 psi of water pressure, which it would hold with no issues... Video provided is to help people through tight situation, where normal contractor with lack of skillls would just hack the wall, and incur more charges...

Here in South Africa our Building Regulation would require that the bend in the pipe (for the first repair shown) has an inspection eye/rodding eye in it . . . for practical purposes ! Where do you come from that doesn't require such a fitting?

The only deadly mistake here is using gray pipes outdoors or underground. This kind of plastic is not resistant to ultraviolet or aggressive soils. Orange pipes should have been used there in the first place.

I was going to say, here in the us you can't find pipe that will soften up that easily.

Not sure why you would ever melt and ruin the water integrity of a pipe. These methods are way harder than just using couplers. I don't get it.

It does not ruin the integrity of the pipe.. FYI all PVC pipes are made through heating of the material... The integrity will only be compromised if stretched beyond limit... Plus, these are domestic pipes, at most its only about 45-55 psi of water pressure, which it would hold with no issues... Video provided is to help people through tight situation, where normal contractor with lack of skillls would just hack the wall, and incur more charges...

Here in South Africa our Building Regulation would require that the bend in the pipe (for the first repair shown) has an inspection eye/rodding eye in it . . . for practical purposes !

The only deadly mistake here is using gray pipes outdoors or underground. This kind of plastic is not resistant to ultraviolet or aggressive soils. Orange pipes should have been used there in the first place.

A co za tym idzie, to nie kombinuje przy niesprawnych instalacjach i nie improwizuje, lecz niesprawności usuwa, zgodnie z technologicznymi zaleceniami. A te mówią, że uszkodzony element kanalizacyjny należy wymienić na nowy! I gdyby okazywane instalacje były wykonywane zgodnie z technologia europejską, opartą na uszczelnieniach gumowych oring i kielichowych rurach PCV, to uszkodzone kolano PCV usuwa się poprzez je kątowe przecięcie i wydostanie z połączenia. Następnie, nakłada je na sztucer pionowy, wcześniej posmarowany poślizgiem np. BISAN. A po posmarowaniu rury poziomej w ścianie i kolana wywnętrz kielicha, łączy te elementy. В данном случае я бы немного расковырял раствор вокруг отвода. Снял старый отвод, вставил новый и замазал бы это все как было, а не это извращение как на видео
