Royal Enfield 500 | Upgrades

Let me introduce the “Thump”, a 500cc single cylinder Royal Enfield. This is the motorcycle that got me into motorcycling. The project started before I got into YouTubing and my goal was to make this as retro as possible with white walls yet have similar characteristics of the model “the flying flea”.
I usually ride this on dirt off the grid roads where I believe the new horns will help me as I come to those blindspot curves.

thanks for watching, here is the link to the solo le pera seat. Its a great seat with a curve that keeps you within the seat specially when torq is applied.

You will also need a swivel mount bracket that claps to the front of the seat. You can find one on amazon.

Question #1: Did you have any difficulty with airfly leg guard and the canister near the left side of engine? How did you mount it?

@kaushik3146 any leg guard on the 500cc are mounted to the frame and the bottom part gets bolted to the engine bolt so this is where you will need a longer bolt. The canister is out of the way as that is mounted higher to the side on the frame so you should have no problems. However, when you install this leg guard make sure you have some space between the header pipe so heat wont ruin your leg guard. Also, good idea in case the bike goes down there is some room so it wont bend or damage your header pipe.

Here’s is the solo seat swivel I used. www.ebay.com/itm/334032294389
I installed taller springs to get little more cushion as going over bumps and you will need to drill a hole between the gas tank bolts in order to bolt this swivel on, then mount it to the LePera seat. I recommend loosing the gas tank bolts and slide the swivel bracket underneath the bolts to accurately drill the hole then tighten all 3 down for secure fit. Lmk if you like a separate video for this…

Thanks for watching Utsav! This is the Silman short muffler, originally used on old 350cc Royal enfield in the early 1950s.
The closest one to this is the indori muffler. This just have a bigger diameter opening which gives it the deep thump like the helicopter sound. Hope this helps.
