Very true I have my own rainbow lorikeet I only feed him bottle brushes and sometimes for a treat something else like millet or something like that I have my own bottlebrush bush for the wild lorikeets to eat from to :)
We've planted a heap of grevilleas and some bottlebrushes. We get a lot of rainbow lorikeets in the garden without actually feeding them. Also cockatoos, rosellas and wattle birds.
We have between 50 and 100 in our backyard all day every day, we feed them apple and wild bird seed, they are amazing, we back off feeding them in wet times and only lay it on in drought so they are nourished. Amazing birds, never let themselves get tame, but know we will sustain them through tough western Queensland times! We provide 2 bird baths that they love to swim in. They are funny to watch when they wrestle!
My Lorikeets eats Harmony nectar, cucumber rind, capsicum, baby spinach leaves, tiny strips of honey carrots, weetbix watered down with a little honey and Sunflower seeds. She spends around 8 hours a day flying around the house and has a cage bigger than a metre square to sleep and play in, its open all day. She's 4 years old a very healthy

Feeding our wildlife/birds is abusive and harmful...it's also anti-social behaviour and this is all from Australian Courts, so it's not just my opinion, but NCAT (an Australian court).

Lorikeets don’t normally eat seeds, they are native birds and drink nectar and eat pollen from native Australian trees, like Bottlebrush’s, Grevillea’s, Gum flowers, most fruits, hard boiled eggs.. they are not Cockatoo’s

Ruins their tongues preventing them from drinking nectar which is why they should eat and can cause gizzard blockages/stomach blockages which is death if not treated

gabriel sciuto, no they are not. They should never really eat seed, but that doesn't mean they will not. Just like we are not 100% built to consume meat but we do. Their beaks are not specifically made for seed as they more fest on nectars, insects and fruits. And its not the fact that their beaks are made the way they are, the tongues are not made for seed. The seed will ruin their brushed on their tongues.
I've seen them occasionally in the wild. Once there was one seen from the balcony of a hotel apartment in Noosa. There were a few up in a tree in Canberra, along with a cockatoo.

Our disable Pudge eat through our fly screen he is free flight inside. To get to our regular flock of birds he is so crazy over them. Pudge is a budgie.
no, they won't drop dead. It's not good for their stomachs but they can handle it (just affects their droppings). It's not a good idea to continuously feed them seeds though, far better to feed them fruit & nectar and either dry or wet mixes.

All you need to do is accept JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and SAVIOR, repent from all of your sins which means never committing them again, and life for Him only (not for the world nor your carnal desires).
