For the corner pieces find a mate or a shop that does 3D printing and have the parts manufactured as you have intact examples that can be scanned and recreated. No Fuss No Muss!
    Good Luck with the repairs.

The Waeco hack works fine mate, I have done it with my 40 litre. A $20 ebay thermostat and a couple of hours of my time = cold beers

Thanks Peter, I agree, it's worthwhile fixing it. Even if its just for a beer fridge when we have a crowd over for a BBQ.

    They can be 3D printed.

Bit of a project, but what about using the Engel's guts (with new thermostat) and cooling part of the box that you have insulated very well?

@@DarrylSheather Oh it'd be fun and instructive and you have nothing to lose bar some time tinkering. You obviously have the craft and brains for it. Maybe a second channel?

Hey Darryl, watched all the camper build vids but I’m chasing the layout vid, the one you did where you marked out your layout on the side walls - can you please re-share please mate cause I cannot find it anywhere and i certainly need it to kick off my project which isn’t far away!

Aj plastics in Brisbane can make custom hatches. The max size they can go, on the website, is 1200×600. You can choose frame colours, tint and round or square corners. I'm sure it you contacted them they'd be able to make a custom door for you.

Thanks Matt, I've been in contact with them previously as they were the importer for the Versatal windows. The maximum 600 high just isn't enough and IMHO you really need around 750mm. Still good to know they can do some custom work.

Hate the camper was damaged but glad you could fix it. I’m sure the time you spent researching the repair was also good for you to get over the mistake. Still looks awesome and I like the new design.

I’m a huge fan of the Engel drawer fridge. I must say they do use a little more power than my Engel chest fridges but that’s the only downside I see. You can get 3 versions too with the only difference being where the compressor is mounted at the rear, left or right.

Thanks for that Warwick. The compressor mounting system is part of what's drawn me to them.

Welcome! Yes it’s a huge plus for them.
