I just started teaching my first astrology classes and this was so helpful! I love how humble and empowering this podcast always is. Chris saying he can not remember the sun sign dates gave me the biggest relief that I was not a total failure. This podcast is giving me the same experience.
I just finished my first day at Norwac. It was my first time attending. It's definitely a surreal experience feeling like you "know" all of the speakers and astrologers around you and all the folks from Twitter, but them not knowing you. Masks were required for the event (totally understandable) but did seem to make it a little difficult to start up conversations, because you can't lead in with a smile. It would be cool if there would be some type of new conference attendees mingling party or something in efforts to help connect and feel included within the community. Felt so very grateful to be surrounded by people who love astrology as much as me!
This episode came at such a perfect time as I prepare for my first lecture at the Emerging Astrologers Summit! Thank you both! You've given me a confidence boost to be able to go into this summit more excited than nervous! 💛

Some criticize speakers... for the very things that I find magnetism in. So just remember, you are not for everyone- and that's a good thing. Information, relaying & receiving it... both are skills. And people learn in different ways. So the one thing- that you might get criticism for.... may still be the very thing that many find endearing or understandable for their learning style. 💜

Great practical thoughts, neat episode. The 'fusion' idea that came up seems like a powerful leaning for 2022 and into the aquarian age... there are so many streams of human history that seem to wade in the waters of astrology (Neopythagorean / arithmologic / theosophic thought). The speakers list for NORWAC looks great!
I was listening to this (even though I’m never going to one day be at, or speak at a conference) enjoying it, but I had to stop half way through because I’d find myself acting out the horary chart all “oh, please don’t have it be that..” Still positive, because it made me think about the horary, and if I do every complete looking through astrology where I’ve made a decision, I better be very clear instead of assuming others know what I mean. When “inclusion” came up I internally responded “as long as it’s not anarchy” which, if I put it that way, it doesn’t sound at all how I mean it. I’m actually quite liberal in terms of style, variations, view points, etc. i just mean it in terms of not fully going “anything goes”. I wouldn’t speak, but once I get comfortably through understanding enough about astrology today to make actual statements it would be related to my experience with astrology over the decades of life where it’s always been around, and I’ve seen changes that are both phenomenally amazing, and horribly bad. The horary had some things in it where I almost jokingly cast one to see if Chris may try to kill me one day. But this episode did bring up that if I do get into the subject to be mindful. One example that can be tricky is just on synchronicity, there are generally 2 types. There’s what Chris refers to which is more Hellenistic which is fate, determinism, etc. the next is meaningful coincidence that’s more subjective. Those areas, especially the latter, would need articulated very carefully. So far, I see little difference in Hellenistic, evolutionary, psychological, and even archetypal in that it’s often just a different viewpoint on the same thing. Different styles can interpret differently. You can even go about it wrong in some styles and actually find something that’s meaningful at that time which could make someone uncomfortable with that idea while it still fits molds where it makes no difference. House systems, in my opinion whole signs may not have gone anywhere, but was lost in the mix. Even though I’m siding with whole sign houses, I’m also for laying quadrants to “colorize” the chart while just warning there’s likely no 100% accurate quadrant system. Also, keeping in mind, I’m not even near getting to a point where I’m starting on actually making any decisions on this or that. There was a study where they did find season patterns in terms of “personality” that match sun sign astrology in terms of cardinal, fixed, to mutable per season and what’s fascinating about it is they studied it in mice. Imagine a house system for the life of said mice! 4 decades, I’ve seen astrology change quite a bit, and my deep dive into astrology this time is leaving me absolutely impressed and hopeful for the future because of ancient/Hellenistic so I doubt Chris will try to assassinate me in the next 10 years. Unless it’s overseas because Chris said lot of spirit opposite it’s ruler in detriment is death in a foreign country.. 😡 no, but it makes sense. In a foreign county mars in libra could probably cause some major accidental problems. It’s conjunct Venus in libra so Venus wanting to keep the peace wins out. Social media is probably a no no in some cases. I DO know I have some issues with outer planets and treatment of malefic’s in modern where I’ve currently dropped outer for a while. I have noticed some planets like Saturn have been turned positive and weakened and meanings moved to other planets where reading natal as Pluto 1st and then shifting to Saturn 1st didn’t alter much meaning in terms of modern; modern is why I lagged on whole signs. I’m rambling, I enjoyed mentally drifting off wondering what I’d say and minding enough to not get killed for saying it. The Saturn in the horary is what made me go “oh no.” Side note: by minding too much on articulating it could create the same confusion described in said chart so we end up at ground zero that way also.
