I dont wanna be the erm actually guy, but the venetor didnt say the figures would be exclusive forever, just that they ARE exclusive to the set when it released.
Exactly! I’m just pointing out the argument that a lot of people have made as to why they’re upset. I think it’s a bad idea make a big purchase solely based on the Minifigures, especially when you have no idea what LEGO may choose to do in the future. There’s always that “risk” involved.
while i do see your point, and i don't mind that he's in a cheaper set. the wording for rex was "exclusive" but the wording for the luke minifigure was described as "new" but he wasn't added in the X wing fighter like we thought. i think they just keep things vague to pull something like this and they really need to work on it.
@@_trashvis_I can definitely get behind that, especially since people do care so much about exclusivity when it comes to Star Wars Minifigures specifically, and there’s a high likelihood that the designers knew this set was already in development at the same time. Perhaps it was a mistake on the instructions team , who might not have had access to that information, and it was just never changed upon final approval? It’s funny how one word can make all the difference.
@@AnakinSkywalker-qe2rk To be fair, it's still Lego's fault for waiting 4 years to release a Rex to the masses. Way back in 2020 when Season 7 was launched, we got an AAT set with Ahsoka, and also a Ahsoka vs Maul set, so that's 2 sets with Ahsoka. Even the AAT set had a 332nd trooper, so instead of putting Ahsoka in that, we coulda got Rex. The 501st battle pack released that year too, and so did a few Mando set I think? And the Mandalorian fighter with Bo Karan and Gar Saxon released a year later. So they had all the right pieces for the Siege of Mandalore... Except a Captain Rex figure. Now yeah, the 332nd battle pack with Von got released late too, but considering we got a 501st battle pack I'm already happy with the 2020 wave. It's just, why was Rex 3 to 4 years late, you know?
I freaking love my venator toy, like it’s literally not even a collectors item that I paid $650 for and it’s so swooshable and has so many play features for the exclusive minifigures included
@baileygregory9192 yes people should buy it for the set but it is a nicer thing to get exclusive figs that only premium buyers r able to get than releasing it in a 12.99 2 bit fighter. Would’ve been much much better if they had released both the ucs venator and the microfighter at the same time so for people who only want the Rex they buy the microfighter but for people who want the venator and the Rex it saves them some money.
I don’t even look at it as an investment, just something special and unique in my collection because $650 is just a little bit more money and shows a little bit more dedication to the hobby than a $13 thing
Lego investment is a sham. Simply buying and reselling at a higher price point no matter the quantity is scalping. I am glad they hurt there are literal toys
I think most people are happy. Cheap Rex for all. I get that some people felt manipulated by the “exclusive figure” label and bought the Venator just for the figure. But you really shouldn’t be spending $650 mostly for a figure.
I thinks that’s the idea. Lego releases a set with an exclusive minifigure cause they know that will help sell it to make more money than release it in a cheaper set so people on a budget can still get it.
I went through the comments and saw no one claiming the ownership of a venator here beside the Creator of the video ofc. So perhaps one view from a Venator owner (myself): A little bit of backstory: i did not buy the venator solely for Rex. Rex was a huge win and argument for getting the set, but i loved the venator since the clone wars, i loved yularen as a character, rex is my favorite figure (i got his j'aig eyes as a Tattoo) and the venator is such a beautiful ship. Many reasons for me to buy it as my first UCS set. Now to my opinion if anyone cares about it: i understand everyone that rex shouldn't be gatekeeped. Thats a damn good reason to hate Lego for bringing him in a 650€ (germany) set. I'm happy for anyone being able to get him now. I knew about the leaks before i bought the venator, still bought it. The only thing i would "complain" about, is that they could have made the rex a little bit different in the UCS Set (perhaps a waist cape or something, idk) for the "exclusivity" part. But it's not that big of a deal for me personally. I don't mind that my rex is the same as the Microfighter rex. So yeah that's my honest opinion TLDR; I have a venator, I'm all for the ability to get rex in a cheaper set for anyone else, rex wasn't the sole reason for buying the Venator, there where other factors. Thanks for reading
I personally think it’s a cheaper and much more efficient method to obtain this figure and making exclusive to a ucs set wouldn’t make sense as there are many fans of the character who can not afford the price of the set
