The golden age of clone wars sets was mostly a price thing, though. Eg the new AT-TE is definitely better than the Clone Wars era AT-TE, but the CW AT-TE was a £70 set and the new AT-TE is a £120 set. That comparatively low price point made the brand a lot more accessible to kids and as a result was able to generate a ton of nostalgia.

I’m completely fine with Lego making and having some more exclusive versions of figs that are more rare because it’s for the people who will want it for that reason while they can also make similar versions or different versions of figs that most average consumers aren’t going to care about that stuff
I bought a tie-fighter, a tie bomber, a falcon, an x-wing an at-st, razor crest and an N1. All in the last couple of years. My shelf is full and now and i'm moving on from lego star wars.
Lego is only worth as much as people think they are. Phase 2 Rex really isnt thst rare, but continue to tell people hes expensive and people will think hes expensive.
I remember seeing Jek-14 in the Lego Star Wars show and I loved his design and concept. Getting back into Lego I looked for his phase2 armor minifigure and the minimum price I could find was 50$ but just recently I found someone selling the figure for $30. Price demands are pretty weird. At the start of the year I looked for the previous quinjet set from endgame and Kylo Rens fighter. At the time I could only find both for $400 til a few months ago I found both for around $150 each.
The most expensive figure I bought was Ahsoka from Rebels for $120. If it had known they'd make the grown version for the final season of Clone Wars, never would've bought it
And this is why I've stopped collecting LEGO Star Wars. Sacrificing a week of meals for a plastic figure is literally a dumb descion. I'm now a modular guy. Its slightly easier.
I agree you never know for sure if a minifigure will hold its value based on the set if its remade in a cheaper or set or not, I could have bought Queen Amidala originally and if i sold it today I would have profited more money than I bought her for, but back then I wasn't thinking about that. There always is a roll of a dice with this stuff if you're only looking to profit, but overall I think if you have been in this industry years, and you have a good knowledge of what's exclusive and valuable and what isn't and you buy a new set with a new fig and don't open it for 2 plus years overall the value goes up. I grew up with Lego Star wars it holds a deep place in my heart and I know it does to many other people too. But if you take an honest look at it from an economical pov you realize there is more money in investing in this hobby than any other toy or even stock for that matter. The value 99% of the time only goes up, the only hard part to this sport is, buy new exclusive set, don't open it for 2+ years, find a buyer.
I hate how ppl see mini-figs and old sets as investments. im not against buying a set or 2 extra when its still on shelves to sell later. But ppl buying up old LS set like its bitcoin is crazy. IN genral scalping has become WAYYY out of hand it makes buying sets on release almost imposible...... not to mention sought after CW set! good luck....... Im not trying to make a profit I genuily just want the set to dispay and collect.
Wasn’t so hard to collect them all a few years ago. Been collecting from the start. There’d be one of two I didn’t get on release, like OG cloud city. But you could buy most on the second hand market for a small markup years later. Bought Cloud City for £100 4-5 years after it came out. Darth Revan is the only character I don’t have. Was on my wish list but never got around to it. 2-3 years ago was around the £30 mark now just crazy pricing.
As a watch collector these values doesn't seem to be crazy, but what strikes me is. Does that mean all these mini-figs simply were departed from its original set? if so wouldn't it be more logical for the owner of those sets to re-sell them as a complete set? I can imagine pulling mini figs out selling them individually will give you a higher return right? If so people can simply buy complete sets at a "cheaper" but inflated retail rate and simply sell the mini figs and the rest of the set can be scrap as parts.
I had a Lego collection that I gave away to my friend when I was 15 that was probably 30+ pounds of Lego clone wars sets. I started collecting Lego sets again and seeing what the minifigures are priced at makes me so sad that chest was probably worth 10k+ 😂

Awwww, I’m sorry to hear that. Lots of my old Star Wars minifigures that used to play with are probably worth so much that they are damaged. Wished that took better care of the figures 😢
this is not star wars related but when the 60s classic tv series batmobile joker pursuit set was coming out i bought a classic tv series robin from the batcave from few years back for much cheaper than it is worth now because it got much more expensive after this set came out
They need to release new sets with rare figs cos so many characters get 1 set and never come back. Captain Rex was on so many star wars boxes but he only got 1 set
The only people that care about things like lego being devalued are the ones trying to make money off it or who paid the inflated price. Having been recently getting back into lego and star wars by extension, the prices of some of the parts second hand is insane and ridiculous. I've been looking at third party mini figures for anything thats inflated to double digits if I need one for something. I understand it from the collectible aspect and putting value in rare/limited things, but the combination of the millenial/Gen Z generations holding onto and normalizing being able to enjoy stuff we did as kids and the internet, the scalping/inflation of these things has become ridiculous and made only worse with the ease of being able to do it on the internet and the economy sucking so badly here in the US at least.
Some people are way too crazy about minifigures. They weren't even a thing when I started collecting Lego as a kid. I wonder what would happen if Lego would just do away with them entirely. I doubt some fans would even survive that.
I think they are neat so it would ge unfortunate to see them go but I disagree with them being the main reason to by I have the AT-TE with phase 2 Cody but I didn’t buy it for cody I bought it because I love the AT-TE even though i basically only buy display pieces Though an Optimus minifig to go with Lego Optimus would have been cool (I mean who would want a spark plug or spike figure)
Ill be 100% honest, as someone thats been a lifelong lego fan since his childhood, I absolutely hate and despise this rise in the "lego is an investment" culture, its just so unbelievably toxic, and Im really glad that lego is slowly moving away from including figures of iconic characters in UCS sets that are worth hundreds of dollars, and its also hilarious to see all these resellers absolutely sh1t and p1ss their pants over UCS minifigs not being exclusive, its just so satisfying and is definitely the step in the right direction by lego
1:53 that is simply not true. The reason being isactually because lots of the figs were lost to little childrens bins of Lego because there was never an intention for them to become valuable

I’m completely fine with Lego making and having some more exclusive versions of figs that are more rare because it’s for the people who will want it for that reason while they can also make similar versions or different versions of figs that most average consumers aren’t going to care about that stuff
I have the 250 dollar jango and didnt know he was worth 250 doll hairs till i watched this . Im rich
This is my 2nd or 3rd video I’m watching from your channel and your really funny 😂
Awesome video…very very well done..that editing must have been time consuming..but so worth it..thank you..🫶🏼❤️🥰👍🌹💕
I remember seeing Jek-14 in the Lego Star Wars show and I loved his design and concept.
Just wanna say this video was done really well. Loved it
Well, I'm glad I got your channel recommended to me because I have a couple of those rare minifigs! I need to dig out my old Jango and Watto!
Seeing the prices many of these sets and figures fetch, that I USED to own as a kid, kills me a little inside.
Betrayal at cloud city was 2018 btw
The most expensive figure I bought was Ahsoka from Rebels for $120. If it had known they'd make the grown version for the final season of Clone Wars, never would've bought it
It’s great to see you uploading again Dani keep up the good work 😀
And this is why I've stopped collecting LEGO Star Wars.
Completely agree
It’s the fucking COST. I remember the original set from episode 2 with Dooku and Yoda was $10. Now a set like that would be $30
Wasn’t so hard to collect them all a few years ago.
Happens when suddendly the number of scalpers increases
As a watch collector these values doesn't seem to be crazy, but what strikes me is. Does that mean all these mini-figs simply were departed from its original set? if so wouldn't it be more logical for the owner of those sets to re-sell them as a complete set? I can imagine pulling mini figs out selling them individually will give you a higher return right? If so people can simply buy complete sets at a "cheaper" but inflated retail rate and simply sell the mini figs and the rest of the set can be scrap as parts.
Crazy thing is the Finch Dallow was a free mail in for people who bought the set before the swap!
Honestly, screw the scalpers I hate them
That thumbnail makes me cry the ranger is in the wrong side
I had a Lego collection that I gave away to my friend when I was 15 that was probably 30+ pounds of Lego clone wars sets. I started collecting Lego sets again and seeing what the minifigures are priced at makes me so sad that chest was probably worth 10k+ 😂
NOOOOO I was sleeping when this came out and this is such a cool video idea!
Wow I never realized my Jango Fett Slave I was that valuable in $! But I won't trade that, my memories as a child playing with it is more valuable :)
We can’t all be MandR (The man who has almost everything)
half its free too, he gets early releases, free copys, makes more than he spent on reviews and all that, so he spends practically nothing on it so he can basically get every set as it releases and never have to worry about getting it before it retires, its a jealously inducing lifestyle lmao
@@connorgarvin2056 I think you are partly right. I don't think he gets sets free (anymore), and he gets sets early for crazy hight prices. We can't know for sure, but he probably gets his money back.
@@BlackHawkBricks oh i know hed get the money back, think about it, his 2 primary income is content and his store, if he can make a living off that, plus things like sponsorships andmerch he makes more than he spends for sure, the youtube is probably only to pay for the sets tbh, the rest he can probably live off, i mean he bought his own house
If people collect starwars figs just for their monetary value then they should just collect money instead. REMAKE THE CHARACTERS
I use to have the utapau battle pack too. Only was able to find one of the paratrooper helmets when I was looking for them in my clone bin.
Me being a really dumb child, lost a captain Rex that came in that speeder set alongside obi wan and 2 commando droids. I had lost over 200 dollars unknowingly. I almost shed a tear every time I think of it.
Awwww, I’m sorry to hear that. Lots of my old Star Wars minifigures that used to play with are probably worth so much that they are damaged. Wished that took better care of the figures 😢
Nah my primary school had a light up Darth Vader but he was chewed and half the pieces were missing 💀
I like collecting genuine lego, and when i have the money ill pay lots of money for a fig. Im not opposed to customs tho, really cool to own lol
Such a good video!! Great job dani
this is not star wars related but when the 60s classic tv series batmobile joker pursuit set was coming out i bought a classic tv series robin from the batcave from few years back for much cheaper than it is worth now because it got much more expensive after this set came out
They need to release new sets with rare figs cos so many characters get 1 set and never come back. Captain Rex was on so many star wars boxes but he only got 1 set
I don't have the slightest sympathy for minifig collectors - or the resellers trying to rip them off. It's so stupid. Go, suffer!
This is great! Basically just get what you like and what you can and enjoy... 😊
Amazing video, so well put together ! Thanks so much, this was deeply intersting to watch and very entertaining :)
Great video, stellar editing as always 👏
They need to rerelease The Old Republic sets…
Great video dani i missed you have a great week 👍
I remember saving up 10 bucks to buy one of those early little phantom menace sets. $300 average????
I really need to go look in my attic now 😂
BWAAAHAHAH I HAD A DARTH REVAN FIGURE THAT I SOLD so i could buy a nintendo switch for my ex
i'm actually gonna cry after seeing that price :DDD
I am depressed, I had that og jango fett. Pulled it apart as a kid. Found out it could be worth $900 😭😭😭
im here decently early also i absolutely love your videos keep it up
1:09 😂😂😂
1999 - 2008: The Bronze Era
2009 - 2014: The Golden Era
2015 - 2019: The Palladium Era
2020 - 2024: The Platin Era
1.300? Eheh... 😢got half of them!😅
Oh and Rex at 200? Nah here around 70/80€
Some people are way too crazy about minifigures. They weren't even a thing when I started collecting Lego as a kid.
I wonder what would happen if Lego would just do away with them entirely. I doubt some fans would even survive that.
I think they are neat so it would ge unfortunate to see them go but I disagree with them being the main reason to by
I have the AT-TE with phase 2 Cody but I didn’t buy it for cody
I bought it because I love the AT-TE even though i basically only buy display pieces
Though an Optimus minifig to go with Lego Optimus would have been cool (I mean who would want a spark plug or spike figure)
I have Darth Malgus and had NO idea it is an expensive fig
I love great minifigs but we need to go back to caring about the sets themselves so this is less of a problem.
Lego is still a toy, people shouldnt complain if they re-release minifigs because not everyone can pay 100€ for their favorite clone commander or jedi
Man the ucs millennium falcon better not retire soon because i want ot still
Phenomenal content! Thanks Dani.
This makes me so sad that I can’t find my thrawn minifigure anywhere
Where are you buying your lego minifigures from? I have a few of those and are looking to sell them?
1:53 that is simply not true. The reason being isactually because lots of the figs were lost to little childrens bins of Lego because there was never an intention for them to become valuable
its a literal minifigure calm down
Yay a new video
Finally
