- Here we have truck 2431 hard at work over in Barberton on a Tuesday morning. I know I have had several requests for another Python video for quite some time now, so I hope you guys enjoy this one. Hard to believe they will be 3 years old this summer. I was pretty happy that someone finally had a stickered bulk item out that I got film being gripped by these trucks, made for something a little different. As always, a big thanks to the driver for letting me film!

Awesome video. These pythons are some of the most entertaining ones out there. Very consistent cycles and loved the lid flips. Not to mention the pickup of the bulky item. Definitely will watch this video again. Great work on this one
+West Coast Refuse Trucks Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I agree, they look sharp and all our drivers are pretty smooth with them. Lid flips always make for a better video haha. Was really glad to finally get one of these gripping something.
+rws676 what are the requirements for getting a garbage truck job? CDL? Prior driving experience?
A CDL is a must for driving, most companies will also require you to be 21 or older for insurance reasons. Experience differs from company to company.
+rws676 is it recommended to go to CDL classes? What's the difference between class a and class b? Also, are all trucks manual?
I work next to a republic services and I wish I could get a job there.
That's how most guys do it. A is for combination vehicles, B is for straight trucks. And most roll offs are manual, but everything else is mostly automatic
Nice video. I use to drive a sideloader when I was working for the City of Houston Solid Waste Department and I must say that driving one of those trucks in the summer time when the temperature reaches 95 to 100+ degrees is not fun.
Thanks! Yeah they sure get hot! They have AC, but it doesn't always keep up
we have some ZRs that do recycling in Charlotte. waste management operates them. the city does trash pickup with autoreaches and labrie automizers
Nice, I know they have some over in Winston Salem as well. Labrie automizers are probably the best side loads on the market, as far as autoreaches, it could be better could be worse haha

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! They are fun to watch, and it's nice to see something other than a Curotto every once in a while haha. It's really hard to believe this is their 4th summer on the road

Dang... 3 years already. Looks like a weld on the body was bad or something, that thing looks like it'll keep going and hit the cab if the driver ever makes a quick stop. That bulk stop was pretty cool to see, none of the guys around here do that. We just chuck it over the top, haha. The lid flips are nice, although my guys do it better :P

Great video! So glad to see you got more, these trucks are very entertaining to me! Cool how he collected that bulk item as well. I've never seen any of my republic drivers do that with their pythons. Although a friend told me about another driver i know who tried to collect a water heater with his truck. Lol I think I just noticed that this truck has a tag or maybe I just didn't remember lol.
+TheNVTrashMan Thanks glad you enjoyed it. I agree, they are fun to watch- I guess I'm just used to seeing them so often haha. I was glad I was able to get him gripping that. Our guys have gripped all kinds of stuff with them, but of course never when I've been filming... Couches, mattresses, you name it. Haha they all have tag axles. I think every new truck we have gotten in the past 7-8 years has had a tag.
I like the pythons, I've haven't seen one where I live. It's just ZR's and auto reaches
+Republic MN Yeah, they are good trucks and fun to watch. While I'm glad they got the Freightliner Autoreaches and wouldn't mind a couple ZR's, I think they would get boring after a while haha
how long does it take you to learn how to stop in front of the trash can?
