Jamel_AKA_Jamal thank you for this great line up of Elvis songs in honor of his birthday. I read that Elvis’ favorite music to sing was gospel. When with friends and alone that is what he would sing. ❤️
Mrs. Ward here. I've been watching elvis since I was a 6 yr.old, little girl. We would sit as close to the tv as we could. He was mesmerizing. And even at a young age we knew he was really handsome.
So true. The pure magic of controlling the energy of the room. I don't know any other male entertainer who can hold a room like he does. Jis voice alone is molten gold velvet.
I am a black female who was born in 1965, my Grandmother who is from Louisiana and most of my older family share the same love for him. I've heard nothing but good things about Elvis as a child. I was 12 when Elvis died and I remember where I was when I heard the new on the radio. I felt like I lost a family member. When I used to go to Louisiana in the summer time as a young kid my Grandmother would play Elvis's songs. She really loved all kinds of music and I got my love for music from her. I've only heard negative things about Elvis from people/celebrities who never met Elvis. People need to shut up and stop spreading horrible rumors and lies about people they don't know.
Well Said.. I was born in 63 and my momma was a huge Elvis fan Elvis was very special I know how you felt when he passed it was like loosing a family member.
James Burton ( Lead Guitar for Elvis ) said when Elvis died, they had a room for his friends and family at the funeral home to have a 24 hr. personal viewing away from the public. Mr. Burton stated James Brown ( Godfather of Soul ) spent 5 straight hrs in the room and never stopped crying. He even had to be asked to leave to make room for other viewers.
His voice still has that southern blue sound. This man was told at an earlier concert that his black backup singers couldn't be on stage and he said fine but I'm leaving too. This man stayed with his poor roots and stuck up for injustices ♥️
That’s a true story. Whitney Houston’s mother told her the same story. Her mother was a backup singer of his and he told the venue if they (the black singers) don’t get the same accommodations he gets than he to will leave with them.
@@HarryRacer18 That wasn’t Cissy Houston, that was Myrna Smith, the other Sweet inspiration. ELvis grew up very poor and sang in a black church. He had some hurts in he's life. He was the same person on stage and off. I am glad you see him as he is. I'm 72 years old and love as much today as I did at 6. A song I like is Its. Midnight.
At 12 years old I was at the concert you alluded to in VA when his back up singers walked off the stage. It was my first concert ever. He never meant his comment to be taken the wrong way I am sure. That night he also saw a woman catch one of his scarves and another woman take it from her. He saw it happen and he called the woman to the stage. He gave that woman a diamond ring off his finger. So instead of a scarf, that lady took home a diamond ring off the King's finger. Lucky lady!!!
I was watching Elvis' comeback special one day. My young nephew walked in and asked "Who's that?" I replied "Elvis". He asked "Why is he so good looking?"!!

Elvis grew up very poor in Tupelo Mississippi. He had a twin brother who was stillborn. He was born before Elvis. As a young child, Elvis would sneak out to go hear the music being sang and played in the black churches he could get to. His love for music and all people began there.
