Mike Battista Not only the king of rock'n roll. Elvis is official the ARTIST OF THE 20 CENRURY! Awarded by the RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA in 1999! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!!!
To call him the KoR&R is to denigrate him. His music was not confined in such a narrow compass. And did you notice that this song is not Rock and Roll?
I remember when he passed away. There was a guy I worked with who actually broke down in tears, and these men were old time truck drivers and diesel mechanics. Missed three days work to mourn. That, is the effect Elvis had on his fans. People genuinely loved him.
Answer to your question what was he thinking? He was a lonely man surrounded by people all the time. Makes my heart hurt. RIP Elvis. Thank you for the music
True Elvis fans understand his pain that you mention and appreciate him even more for passionately sharing his heart, soul and beautiful voice with us. His fame cost him his freedom and privacy. Makes me sad for him.
Every time I hear Elvis song come on the radio, I say out loud, ‘Oh, Elvis’. He lost his parents, his wife and His child. He was lonely and sad. Turned to drugs that eventually killed him and kept on doing what he Loved...singing and getting adoration from his fans who loved him back unconditionally. I still love him❤️.
I am still in the dark ages-I had no idea how to 'comment'. Can you hide my name? Elvis will love in hearts and minds forever he was the most unselfish, caring person w/ personal demons. He's w/ his momma and twin he never knew. He has the peace he never had in life. That brings me joy just like his movies and songs.
This was done two weeks after he n cilla separated n the b side was separate ways ... no coincidence he was saying sorry for his infidelities and realized what he had lost .

That look in his eyes you asked about. He sang this song soon after him and Pricilla got divorced. So I'm sure his divorce was going on in his head, plus being on the road constantly, and being so lonely. There'll never be another Elvis!!
To be such a big star, Elvis was so humble. They said anyone could approach him and he would take time with them, Never a snob. He remembered where he came from. That's why his concert tickets were not too expensive. He wanted the cost low enough where anyone who wanted to see him could. He would often ride his horse down to the gates of Graceland to meet the fans. Talk, autograph and take pictures and on some occasions, invite them into his home! He also took VERY good care of his black backup singers the Sweet inspirations especially during that time period. One time Elvis was going to do a show and they told him to not bring the Black girls (the Sweet inspirations). Elvis said "No Sweets, No Elvis" and then Elvis had them Chauffeured into the arena in a fancy car with a white driver. LOL .AND unlike many celebs today, he would NOT talk politics. When reporters would ask a political question he's reply "I'm just an entertainer".

Hard to believe he's been gone longer now than the years he was with us. So, so sad what happened to this man. It was just him and his fans. No bullshit lightshow or flash. He didn't need anything else but his awesome God-given talent. The greatest of all time. Period.
I love your reactions best of all, because you, yourself are so real... And yes, he was a big time people-person... he was kind to everyone. As every human being is imperfect and weak, each in their own areas, he had a charitable heart towards his like-kind. One time a male fan came to his show in Las Vegas dressed up in a jumpsuit like Elvis would wear. When Elvis went to shake his hand and the spotlight landed on the man, the audience began laughing. Elvis said to the audience, "No-no, no-no... imitation is the best form of flattery..." and then to the man said: "Where'd you get that jumpsuit...I like it!" He wouldn't stand for injustice....
Elvis LOVED his fans! I mean LOVED his fans! He always knew and stated many times that without them, he'd be driving a truck. That was his job when he made his first record in 1954. He drove a delivery truck for Crown Electric company in Memphis and was training to be an electrician. As he said in his 1969 August engagement at the International Hotel in Vegas "I was training to be an electrician...and I got wired the wrong way!" Elvis came from a childhood (into his teenage years) in EXTREME poverty. He never forgot that. Never forgot where he came from. He also knew and said throughout his life that it could literally all be gone in the blink of an eye. He never took his fame for granted. He was actually uncomfortable with fame. But because of his upbringing and knowing what it's like to literally have nothing, that's why he was so generous. Buying cars (especially Cadillacs) for people who couldn't afford them. He bought houses, cars, hourses....anything he thought that person might want. So many times, he'd pay cash for the gifts and use a fictitious name so the recipient had no idea it was from him. He also had a love of Children and animals. Twice a year....at Christmas and again at Easter, Elvis would cut a check to St. Jude Childeren's research hospital in Memphis. The amount would usually be $5,000.00. He started doing that in the early/mid 60's and continued it until the end of his life. So yeah.....humble. Never forgot how he started dirt poor, and always shared what he had with total strangers

I was 6 and I remember realizing at that time how music was a fabric of our lives. By that i mean after both my parents and older siblings were so upset about his death i asked my mom at age 6 can we play more Elvis so he’s never dead !? Wow…
What was he thinking? His life was a wreck, he lost the love of his life, he had to take pills to go to sleep, then more to wake up... I'm such a huge fan of Elvis, I just wish he had taken a different route with his life, and maybe he'd still be here at 85. My grandpa is the same age as him. I'll still be a fan till the day I die... The man's voice is pure gold!
Ohh reading your comment and listen to this beautiful masterpiece combined together, is pure gold with much emotionals. Sorry I didn't know how to spell it 😀
First off I wanna say I love your channel!. I’m 41 years old so I was born after Elvis died. I love all music from country to 2Pac to Elvis Presley. All good music. Elvis was phenomenal in the 50s and 60s. He had a manager named Colonel Parker. Elvis basically was worked to death by that man. He sang a lot in the 50s and then he did mostly movies in the 60s. After that he shifted to performing like five shows a week in Las Vegas. My father saw him in Las Vegas and said he was awesome. He made a come back in the 70s and started touring again. The kernel did not want Elvis to tour overseas which is why he never went out of the United States of America for a tour. In the end Elvis gained tons of weight. He had a horrible diet. He was surrounded by yes-man. He was given uppers to get ready for the show and basically tranquilizers to sleep at night. His heart finally gave out and I believe he was only in his late 40s. Very sad to think that similar things happened to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Three of the best of all time. Anyways God bless and I love your channel

I was there at graceland on his birthday. One of the best times of my life.
My dad got to see Elvis in concert. My dad didn't want to go, but his girlfriend did, so they went. Dad says he's never been sorry. Elvis put on a fantastic performance. He was an entertainer.
You know Elvis is at home with our loving father and singing with the angels
In 1968 for his comeback he was at the peak of his gorgeous ness. Man, he was something!
I remember when I was a kid I came in the house from playing and I saw my mom sitting on the sofa crying.. The Tv was on, i asked her what's wrong.. she told me Elvis has died... I'll never forget that.. first time I remember hearing about anyone dying. Elvis was and always will be the GOAT
I was a little girl when he died. I will always remember exactly what I was doing when I heard that he had died.
Someone asked me recently what was the first big news event I can remember as a child and I answered Elvis' death. We're probably about the same age.
I remember when my mum told me meatloaf died I had to sit down and process it
I was 6 and I remember realizing at that time how music was a fabric of our lives. By that i mean after both my parents and older siblings were so upset about his death i asked my mom at age 6 can we play more Elvis so he’s never dead !?
Wow…
I turned 19 less than 2 weeks after Elvis died. His death saddened so many of us.
After all these years.(45 now)..being a Elvis since I was a kid.this damn song always gets me teary! 265lb man tearing up ..lol !excellent job Jamal!
you are not alone. ..don't feel bad. ..there are many people who tear up listening to this song....
Sorry I didn't know how to spell it 😀
I often wonder what Elvis would have done/sounded like during the 1980s...
Thanks for what you do . Enjoy your reactions on Elvis. Happy Birthday Elvis.
I absolutely adore Elvis. He always thought he’d be forgotten he should only know how much he’s loved!!! And missed😢❤️😘
No one then, or now, can ever compare to Elvis. This rendition of the song is still my favorite.
If Elvis sang a song that you wrote and sang after he sang it, it was his fact
I don't know why the 24 ppl who dislike this song, obviously must can't hear Elvis' voice.. 💖👍
