Never heard anything so sweet before played on this combination of instruments! A sweet melody over a sweet harmony --- some part of me deep inside teared up.
Scottish, German, who cares? No one who hears this can fail to long for the Highlands. This is the best version on RUclips, by far! Thank you for posting!
I want this played, exactly this arrangement, as they carry me in to my church, the First Methodist Church in Marion, Indiana. Just not for a long time to come!
yes this is a german version the original was written by a scotsman, BUT awesome version. Thankyou so much for this . Its really outstanding . stunning !!!
@david alexander - do you have any reference that there was a version of Highland Cathedral prior to the german piece composed in 1982? I have corresponded with Michael Korb, one of the two composers (the other was Uli Roever) and I am not aware of any preexisting piece. There was no 'traditional' version of this piece in other words.
I really like the organ and bagpipes together. I'm an organist and I was wondering where can I get the music for this piece that you on organ and bagpipe. It will be really useful.
Sorry but the bagpipes sound like a very sick sheep and the organ does not pull its full strength as it would sound in a brassband or regular massedband. I mis the part when "it all comes togerther in a bombastic part" I certainly have heard better versions. Sorry Sorry Sorry but this is my personal observation.
Thank you This is now in a permanent folder to be played often
Thanks to you ! It´s a pleasure to know that!
I love Highland Carhedral. This is a superb version.
Wunderschöne Aufnahmen von der Landschaft mit einer tollen Version der Pipes

Love that piece, one of the best arrangements I’ve heard yet. Ethereal!

Thanks for you charming comment !
Beautiful! There is something special with bagpipes, and the theme seems very emotive to me. Thank you.
This version has a really attractive fragility in the solo playing.
How moving! It's a really beautiful piece. I don't know how to explain it, there is... magic. And the relationship with the images is impressive!
Many thanks. You are very kind!

All Scots know this was written by 2 German composers and really love how they beautifully composed a tune that we Scots truly love for ever .
Very nice.

Where can I get the sheet music for this piece?
I want it to be my wedding march in June.
+Julia Stahl I think if you ask the organist he would be able to play it. And you need to get a bagpipe player too. Regards !
+stylusfantasticus My organist and bag pipe player asked for sheet music. Maybe I will write an e-mail to the composer...
Everytime I hear it I cry because I went to school in Scotland and it was played every Sunday for chapel, every rugby match and every house dinner.
Mercí !
Est-ce que ont pourrais avoir les partitions pour la cornemuse et l'orgue? C'est pour mon mariage prochainement merci!
