- Absolutely classic moment on tipping point. Ben Shephard barely managed to avoid pissing himself when brainiac (school teacher!) contestant manages to confuse Homer the Greek poet with Homer Simpson...
I bet the writers were like “I told you we’d get someone with that question” 😂
And they got two 😅
The host face is priceless.
Ben’s face at 0:21 when he realises that Dom actually ment Homer Simpson.
Bradley Walsh would have needed oxygen if he was hosting.
😂😂
I can imagine it going like this:
A) Honey
B) Ambrosia
C) Doooooooooo... (wheezes)
Love it when he corpses!
"Fanny Schmelar"
Bahhhahhhaaa😂
Corpses 😳
The fact that she agreed is even worse 😂😂
As far as she is concerned there's only one Homer and nobody will convince her otherwise.
Surely you mean better 😂
The question is ridiculous, everyone knows Homer likes Duff Beer, not nectar.
He's "necked a" few Duffs in his time though.
0:38 "I'll just read this question again" 😂
If Homer Simpson is watching this, he'll say something like "Why you little? I teach you poetry!"
Lol, I think the answer would be more like...
Donuts...hmmmm donuts 😂
It doesn't matter how educated you are even the most simplest of questions can fail you very hard some times
Pair of donuts.
I had no idea why on Earth they were saying donuts at first... Only then the Simpsons came to mind 😂
Took that long?
@@theastonvillaseal585Either you're too stupid not to know Homer, or you just get a kick out of hating. Live long and prosper 💪
Do you get a kick out of this? Or maybe you have no idea who Homer is and your first connotation was the Simpsons? I pity you either way.
@@GeometricStalemate You sound extremely insecure.
@@cessnacitation-x Did I offend you in any way?
It gets worse. I watched this live with my friend, and she was like "What other Homer is there?" She genuinely believed the name 'Homer' had been invented by the Simpsons creators!
Is she still your friend ?
@@richardgrant7055 Yes. Believe me, I've encountered worse ignorance than that. Until her late 20s, my cousin's ex girlfriend thought the world used to be black and white, rather than just that colour film hadn't been invented!
@@jackcarter5101 is she American ?
@@nish3603 No. I'm afraid such idiocy is not exclusive to America.
Same, do people really know of another Homer?
Wow, getting doughnuts mixed up with creamed rice.😂😂😂😂
That deserves far more likes than I can give.
Devon knows how they make it so creamy!
Ffs 😂
see what you did there
D’OH! 🤦♂️
That guy is a primary school teacher. God help the kids if donuts like that are teaching them.
No need to be a complete tool. I’d love to see you on this show.
Tbf the teachers rarely do well on quiz shows. Those who can do, those who can't teach. (Old saying)
Key word is primary
he's really not that bad of a teacher 😓 taught me a long while ago when I was still in primary, clip comes up every time on my feed and i lose a few braincells
@@annawalsh1904- This is the easiest quiz show on tv. A shaved chimp could win the jackpot. Piss easy questions for the terminally thick.
Years ago there was a video of the comedian Reginald D Hunter talking about his father, whose name was Homer. Someone commented "How can his father have been called Homer if the Simpsons only started in the 80s?" We truly had to explain that Matt Groening did not invent the name Homer!
What's more, Groening's own father was named Homer Philip, naming both the big quijibo and Fry for him.
"We"
And that folks is a teacher. God help us.
Remember, he has the right to kidnap your kids. Guess he knows more about queer theory than he does classic poets.
'The author Homer'
She still didn’t know after he told her
I'm a primary school teacher and then answers doughnuts
Did you think they were experts or something?
How ben doesn't crack up is beyond me 🤷♂️😂
His 15 minutes of fame were over. This was his 15 seconds of excruciating humiliation that will follow him his entire life.
Nah
For once, Tipping Point tried to go high brow and quickly realised they’re still not that kind of show - all hail the thick people 🙌
I reckon the producers were setting a trap and these two contestants fell straight into it.
Yeah he's only a teacher.
A pair of doughnuts!
UK Primary school teacher everyone...
I doubt they teach about either of the two most famous Homers in primary school.
Inner American
@@jeffrey44trivia is a good telling point
Yep he taught me when I was in primary
@@Bbg934 no way
I honestly can't believe 2 people can be THAT dense.........the mind boggles.
Ben's straight face says it all
You did Lenny Henry dirty, you didnt even let him get a word out.
D’OH!
At least the guy realised
Give Ben Sheppard some credit, Bradley Walsh would have been doubled up on the floor at that answer 😂
Homer loved Donuts! 😂😂😂
Jesus. Well at least it wasn't on national tv and then put out on social sites like this one. That would be really embarrassing.
I’m surprised those two deadbeats didn’t say “Oooh, custard!” when Ambrosia came up.
They’ll let anyone teach nowadays won’t they. Even after realising his mistake he calls Homer an author! By the Lord Harry!
Great laugh at 35 seconds.
Nuclear factory? He was looking like the intelliegent one till he said that 😂
Brilliant!!
Fantastic
Nectar is truly the food of the gods
I came to laugh at this and LITERALLY DID THE SAME THING as the contestants....
Oh my God.
WTF is a “nuclear factory”!?!
Actually they got the question wrong. It’s Duff beer, not nectar. Who would want to drink a flower?
He is a teacher now we know why children of today are as thick as planks
Did I just happen to miss the episode where Homer Simpson became a poet? They probably have done that by now, but I don't know if Homer Simpson is particularly well known for his writing capabilities.
Everyone knows the Iliad was just a glorified shopping list.
And darkness covered his eyes. Lol.
How did Ben keep it together 😂
They thought of Homer Simpson 😂
Brad Brassman loves this.
Marketing Manager, sorting Slippy when Wet signs & Astrology Expert.
They both live in Springfield so its kinda a tough question.
Honestly assumed all Brits studied Greek poetry.
Taxi for two. DOH 😣
Oh for God's sake.
Love this prog. Contestants are uniformaly thick
Teachers. ☕️
lol this seems like something homer simpson would do
Dense twonks....give me strength
Where do they get them from
Indoctrination camp
Well luckily primary school children don’t learn about philosophers.
No wonder the UK is in such a state.
Are these two for real? One I can sort of semi understand but BOTH?????
The question is wrong, since the Greek poet's name was "Homeros" - not "Homer". That's the disadvantage with the English language - anglifying every name which hasn't Anglo-Saxon origin.
Yeah that's definitely the reason this thick teacher who can legally imprison children and brainwash them didn't know the famous poet.
Wrong Homer people.
😂😂
😮😮😮😮😮
Honestly lost for words.....
The contestants are getting worse and worse as time goes on - they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.
How is he a teacher lmao
I feel very sorry for his students
To be fair, the teachers I've had in the past would probably be more familiar with Homer Simpson than Homer (as in the Greek poet). Way more familiar.
Just keep dumbing-down the kids/population............
In fairness he is a primary school teacher, what do you learn there? absolutely nothing.
@@GeekyGuy. feel sorry for me he’s my old teacher 😭
HES A TEACHERRR?????
To be fair, he teaches under-11s, so I doubt Ancient Greek literature is on the syllabus.
@@SonOfFurzehatt and that is precisely where they’re going wrong. Less numeracy, more Aristophanes. At least they can laugh at all the dick jokes.
@@AH-be6bu
Children used to be happier when we had them memorize the names of 50 kings rather than teach them practical skills like calculus.
This is just sad
Whose getting that tbf
Hopefully most folk ffs
Nectar and ambrosia is a common figure of speech for fancy food.
So even if people aren't familiar with Homer, they can guess "ambrosia" by seeing "nectar".
Educated people.
Most people 😂😂
@@MrCmon113 not common enough for me to know about it apparently... then again I'm a kid and the lot here are either unemployed 40 year olds or thick 18 year olds 😬
The person that made this cut the black guy off right before he was about to speak
Because the black didn't make it to the final so has nothing to do with what the video is about lol
@@bunnyhop7441 keep thinking that racist
A Labour of progressive democrats.
Current state of the country. To this day, she doesn’t know which Homer this was in reference to
