Stuff like this needs patience and dedication and I have seem to lost it. RUclips algorithm brought me here and I can say I'm not disappointed at all.

I’m an art student, and I’ve done some sculpting before, and recently I’ve been thinking that I really really want to make my own figurines-cause as we all know, figurines are expensive as heck and it’d be way cheaper to do them myself. My dad got me some air dry clay and I’ve been looking at videos for awhile, trying to get the feel of it, just because I have not sculpted a human-like figurine in like well, ever, unless you count my childhoood stick figurines. I was wondering if wire armiture is fine with air dry clay, or if it’s just a hassle, or if a base of aluminum foil (like usual) would be fine and not like, push out clay from the inside. (For those wondering, a base of aluminum foil of some sort is usually recommended just to save up some clay and not use it all too quickly).

Of all of the tutorials and videos I've seen, this is the first one I've seen that uses colored clay to make the figurine instead of painting it or only using colored clay on small charms. Kudos! I can see a lot of skill in this.

I used to make figures like this! But then model magic changed it's formula, and did not work well for me, so I changed to polymer clay. I will try your clay when it becomes available! The colours are very nice too!

Wow! I'm a old style modeller. I did a few garage kit myself. It tooks me "weeks" to finish them and I was only cleaning and painting them. I found this video randomly and I'm amazed! So fast! So precise! Already colored...I never saw somethng like that! My only try in scratchbuilding was a Doraemon (perfectly done!) and a Yaozi from Dragon Ball (never finished). You could do both in one afternoon...incredible!

How do the pieces just magically attach to eachother? With the clay that I play with you have to press and squeeze to merge two pieces together.. There's also no finger prints on your pieces! How? O__O
