  • Day 4 of the Colorado Sends.
Was it a real one or what. First couple days skiing with Dan and Matt and doing some exploring set the stage for the last two days when I got a rental car and really developed into what the great outdoors Colorado has to offer. To be doing this totally on my own was a step out of my comfort zone to say the least. my intimidation was at an all time high I would say. It was this feeling of extreme excitement mixed with extreme fear. I kinda let the extreme fear part stay in the back of my mind while I tried to enjoy the heck out of this. It was a crucial part of the trip But I gotta sag a lot of life’s greatest, most important moments are when you truly step into the unknown; a place that you know you need to be. Inherently it might be a place you are terrified of. And it’s important to let that fear live somewhere because it exists. And it wouldn’t be true to say it doesn’t. However, managing this is the most important part hands down. Like it is with anything. I strapped up and got out there that was me facing head on. And I didn’t let it hold me back from the 110%. I was giving on this adventure. Not one place I stood up and looked down on that I turn back on. Not one moment was wasted, giving into that fear. But it was there, and I overcame it. Which may not be even conveyed in the video to the extent that I experience on my own journey. And that’s exactly why I’m writing about this because it’s something that deserves to be shared, and you, as a viewer deserve to know is a normal thing and everyone goes through it. Even the most confident people who are out in their element seemingly conquering the world. It’s an emotion that is woven deep in our DNA. it has kept us alive and continues to keep us alive. Fear is an essential part and all aspects. But it’s also an instrumental thing to know how to be up against. And this trip was a prime example of that. Living into the raw emotions that this trip brought up. Like anything your first time doing it is always The most unique. And for this has a different take on it. for somebody this may just seem like a breeze, a very easy send. But for me, I put a lot of my energy into it because it felt like one of the most important moments of my life. Where everything came together, all my experience, all of my adventures in the past. There’s no feeling like that when you’re at that moment, up against yourself in a new light. And you feel like you’re branching out into something new , that’s an amazing feeling . that’s kind of how nature works. Everything is in place for everything else to exist. That’s where the send leads me sometimes. Right up in front of that. Seeing it with the utmost level of clarity. And that’s why I do these trips that’s what keeps me coming out here. And that’s where it all comes together. For me it’s when I’m on the river with a fishing rod in my hands looking up at the most incredible mountains I’ve ever seen saying “holy CROW” or whatever phrase seems to flow out of my mouth naturally. It’s these moments we feel most human. And it’s these moments we feel connected to everything there is and ever has been. Keep sending it.
