Just watched this and haven't laughed so much for ages. A wonderful way to spend an hour and twenty, during which I lost -2 willpower and found a relic under the coffee table.

Thanks guys! I've played a few solo games and totally whiffed on the rule of advancing doom by how many gates are open of that type! Now my games will be even HARDER!
For people who don't know the game: DON'T try to learn to play from this video. The game they played had very little resembalence rules-wise to the actual Eldritch Horror. They got practically every rule wrong and their 'win' was invalid as fuck but it was fun to watch.
I think in the instructions for both the Under the Pyramids and Mountains of Madness side boards, they're mostly used when you play their specific scenario adventure or whatever they're called. Otherwise there might not be anything specific to take you there.
I understand that. But they were commenting how they haven't even really used the board. The specific preludes for the boards would cause them to be used more. otherwise, there might not be as much reason to go over there?
This is one of my most favorite games. How many of you that have played have actually won? My group have won 4 times in maybe 25 tries. Each was a moment of unusually extreme fanfare for a board game.
Played three times, won once against Cthulu after his emergence. We Migo'd everything to had to the one investigator nearby, he battled the god, and the final point of damage came from the mightiest weapon in the game, the .18 Derringer. Felt epic. The other plays had to be abandoned to due excessive drunkenness.
I have a couple of question about the game, hope you could answer me them 1) when I buy items by throwing successes of influence, can I buy two item? for example, I have 3 successes and one item cost 1 and second 2. 2) Can I fight monster and close portal if they both on the same position? 3) when I win the monster, do I get something? 4) if i get an illness like "dark pack" by methose cards, and the illness is activated by the symbol on the mythos card, will is the illness is activated at the same turn?
@@yellowmaster52 nope, you don't get an additional encounter, like an other-world encounter in this case, IF there are still alive monsters on your space.
You can only upgrade an ability twice max (1 token, double-sided), you can only pick up tickets in cities, and a couple of other things.. But fun 2 watch.
Awww man. Love it. You guys make me wish I had a witty buddy to play with (who was British) and that I, too, were British. Co-operative games would reach the next level of cool in my book....mate. Sorry, I let the daydream take hold. Now to conquer some of the Eldritch with my dull, not at all British pal (that is me).
I know this is a bit late but.... if I'm not mistaken, every time you spawn a gate you should also spawn a monster. And the first gate opened during the setup didn't have a monster on it :v
Aaron Hammerstein Exactly. Ever been shot by your father in the past? How about driven insane by a ghost, loosing on the first turn? Losing is painful but great in this lol.
I cannot count the number of 'fucks' in this video. Meanwhile, on another American channel, people are upset the host used the 'badass' word. I fucking love it
This is the first episode of Shut Up & Sit down I watched and I just watched your old Halloween review of Arkham Horror which you didn't seem to like very much. (I agree!) How differently do you feel about Eldritch? Just curious as it's one of my favorites and I didn't like Arkham that much either.

Watching my favorite boardgame being played on my favorite bg channel during lockdown, wooooo!
we need more "co-op adventures". Make it happen, SUSD. A full video.
when you spawn a gate you also spawn a random monster even during setup

... Poor poliziotto :D
The instant Matt brought up Kiss From A Rose, I began playing it on loop as background music.

I mean... They were already in the shower together.
A Farmer fighting Dark Forces with a Book and a Hammer...

You completely screwed the rules, but by god I was in tears laughing at this video so I don’t care. Top job lads.
Shhhhhhhhh
What did they get wrong?

A few mistakes made, but it was so fun watching you guys role play the encounters!
Monterey Jack! From rescue rangers!
Please play more Eldritch or Arkham Horror, seriously watching you guys cheat and scramble to victory is fantastic
God I miss these co-op adventures. Honestly, I would just watch a ton of arkham/eldritch play thrus.
"Jesus with a Hammer" sounds like a fun character. 🤣
Well, Jesus _was_ a carpenter, so odds are he had at least one hammer...
You mean Thor? :P
So happy this is finally on RUclips!!!

Lol, fun watching you guys play even with the rule mistakes.
Definitely one of the best games out there. I really enjoyed watching you guys play it.

True. But spoilers

You can go to Egypt or Antartica from certain spaces on the board, with a simple move action.
I understand that. But they were commenting how they haven't even really used the board. The specific preludes for the boards would cause them to be used more. otherwise, there might not be as much reason to go over there?
Gates, Monsters, Clues, random events...
11:30 lol! Couldn't give Matt the satisfaction of a high five.
I think you can gain a clue when lost in time and space!

Me and my friends win about 60% of the time, but we are also very competitive and have played many similar board games before. Its great fun!

I miss this era of the show.
Lowest you can get on tests is 1. If you have one strength and the test is strength -1 then you roll one die.
9:30 Bull whip gives +1 strenght during combat, not for strenght test in encounters, so you shouldn't have used the bonus
That was so much fun! So much better than my first Eldritch game. It lasted 8 hours...
HOLY CRAP how many people were you playing with??!?!
We had four players, but six characters. Nobody knew the rules, though, so we were constantly looking things up.
dahelmang Never play with 6... 4 char is perfect.
If there is a next time use the focus tokens. They would have given you so many reroll opportunities.
"This is the worst episode of Dr. Who ever!" ROFL!!
man i love eldritch horror, always played arkham over it but its still a fun game

2) Can I fight monster and close portal if they both on the same position?
3) when I win the monster, do I get something?
4) if i get an illness like "dark pack" by methose cards, and the illness is activated by the symbol on the mythos card, will is the illness is activated at the same turn?
short answers:
1 yes
2 yes
3 no
4 no
hope this helps. :)
2) To close the gate you have to first kill ALL monsters on the same space, except if you have a spell or an item, which lets you ignore mosters

Eldridge burp - that's a thing now

Who showers with their glasses on? Crazy people.
how else would you know if your bits and crevices are clean?
They should have payed the game on hard mode, losing is half the fun in EH.

It is indeed a kind of cheese here.
Guys have you not read enough Lovecraft to know what the Colour out of Space is?
Watching at the tail end(?) of the pandemic and is odd to see these two in the same room.
Haha in soviet America, cops kills you!
Way too may rule errors for me to watch this entire thing, but I did enjoy their enthusiasm.
Would you kindly do a how to play on Eldritch Horror?
read the rulebook , then play a game, then re consult rulebook and realize you played the entire game wrong (pretty standard for FF games :P )
Umm...Quinns, I love you man, but you do have a slight quarterbacky demeanor from time to time. :)
Coming to the comments section of a 4 years old video to see folks complaining about the game being played wrong. Every. Single. Time.

Quinns showers with his glasses?
So we can look forward to the rain of filth next month? Who knew that you were really just demoing 2020 back then?
geez even when you succeed bad shit happens. i dont think i want this game
you guys both look like Abhoth gave you the once over
At 53:51 what would have happened if Matt had made the roll regarding encountering Mandy?
