    As we are coming close to the end of DARK, we wanted to announce a few things.
    1. Episode 7 and episode 8 reactions to this last season are a two-part video. Meaning, we wacthed them both in one take. We've put a lot of work in making all of these videos and perhaps even more in these last two, we are very excited for you to see them soon.
    2. As mentioned in this video, Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese (the creators of DARK) are coming back with a new show on Netflix, "1899". It has been confirmed that it will come out on November 17th, 2022. And of course, we will react to it.
    3. We would like to thank you again for being here. You are all awesome.
    In case someone is interested, the song in this episode that traveled through our spines is “The Pioneers (M83 Remix)” by Bloc Party.

      The M83 Remix of Pioneers was also in the season 3 trailer which, in case you skipped it because of spoilers, you could now enjoy.
      Oh and I should mention somethign funny about the date announcement trailer: there are some shots reversed already sooosome of us fiddled around witht hat and if you reverse the video the audio is still weirdly fitting

    I have set it before. This is the best show ever made. Best casting, best writing, best sound/music, best cinematography. All of it is just so well done, and on such a different level. It's hard to find any other show afterwards that can compare.

    It’s great to see a reactor to this show recognize the music and sound production. I seriously feel like that part of the show is insanely underrated.

    Great reaction! Being confused at this point is pretty normal. 😉
    Just one correction: the Unknown was not causing the apocalypse, he was causing the incident that created the dark matter in the first place (the accident in 1986). But I didn't get that right away as well, the way the scenes are cut is a bit misleading.

    actual Magnus and Franziska is incest. Franziska is charlotte's daughter, Charlotte's dad is Noah, Noah is Agnus's brother, Agnus is Ulrich's grandma, and Ulrich is Magnus's dad.

    The trio maybe don't need to talk, maybe they just have a better connection to their deterministic will than people who are deeper into the mirage of free will, and thus they just flow better with the river.

    A comment you made got me thinking about it further and technically Franzisca is distantly related to Magnus

    7:40 Well the whole concept of timelines that co-exist parallel to each other IS always speaking of parallel worlds. There is no destiction between those. You can either assume that there is only one timeline and that is overridden, then you can skip the parallel worlds. You could also assume parallel worlds without them havin any connotation to time travel but usually we then assume that they are fundamentally different.
    If we assume that they only differ in minor changes, like did I have eggs or toast for breakfast, then you can still call them timelines, since travelling to those still offers all benefits of messing with one's timeline without the hassle of doing it oneself.
    Or rather: applying Everett's many worlds to time travel assumes that a time traveler travels to the past of a similar yet different world where he can mess with the past without ever being able to eradicate his own origin. Let's assume Steve departs from world-0 and goes back 50 years where he does whatever Steve does. But he does so in world-1. John grows up in the messed up world-1 and figures out that the culprit Steve was a visitor from world-0. So he uses the same device to travel back 50 years in hopes of killing Steve's grandfather... but he actually ends up in world-2.
    The real question here should be: did those worlds exist from the beginning or were they created when Steve or John used the time travel device... and if it's the latter, does that mean that mundane decisions like toast or egg for breakfast also create alternating worlds?

      11:24 well I think this is where consecutive numbering doesn't really do you any good... or at least you need to find a way to differentiate further like 2.2 or something; we saw that for each Jonas at the time of the apocalypse there was a dead Martha; which one has which number!?

      13:43 so yeah in case you wanted to read this and are not fluent in German here are the main points:
      spoilers maybe?
      so over 30 years ago when Aleksander and Boris were young there was apparently a break in/robbery at a metalworking shop (Schlosserei) gone wrong in the city of Marburg; the owner got notified by a neighbor and came back with a gun; two people ended up dead, the owner and one of the culprits with the other culprit still at large;
      so much for the article;
      at this point we should head back all the way to season one and not simply Boris' gun shot wound and the fact that he had the passports of him AND Aleksander; no the most important info back then was that Boris was a metalworker (Schlosser) which he told Claudia when looking for a job; so apparently Boris and Aleksander tried to steal from Boris' employer but Aleksander ended up dead; Boris was probably the main suspect but the police apparently could never identify Aleksander's body nor make the connection to Boris or they would have connected the disappearances; Boris was apparently knowing that they would at least take time to figure this out so he took on Aleksanders name; instead of running further than Winden he stayed and kept the first name and only further disguised himself when he married Regina and took her last name;
      and yeah; this isn't actually a spoiler since the show simply never tells this story to those people who let the show play out in front of them; this is only for those of us who look into all the clues

      16:04 The answer is pretty simple: in his cellar; the only reason why we thought he could not survive in his cellar, why we had to assume that the Tronte we saw in the last episodes had to have been saved by Claudia, was that Noah told Charlotte that only the people in the bunker survived; BUT Noah either knew that from the Triquetra notebook, written by The Unknown, or from Adam, who is Jonas... and probably didn't want people to know that he survived in his own cellar

      16:16 I love this scene and I hate this scene to the guts; some of this will contain spoilers; but I will tell you when
      Eva actually describes two different concepts here and we should start off with the imagery
      the eternity symbol could be seen here as two circles representing the two worlds but instead of each circle being independent they are connected; she also notes that there is an outside and an inside of the curve and that implies that the symbol is supposed to be a two dimensional representation of a moebius strip; now the interesting feature is that if you traced a path along the strip with your finger you would atomatically not only touch the outside but at some point find yourself on the inside and finally back on the outside again making basically two rounds along the strip and finally ending up where you started; this implies that there is indeed a closed loop but it contains at least two open loops or rather four loops if we saw both worlds as their own loops;
      the other thing Eva drops here is quantum entanglement; in case you dropped out of high school (joking) quantum mechanics was developed because classic mechanic couldn't describe several scientific observations; usually we talk about subatomar particles but since those make up larger systems it should also cover macroscopic systems as well; so in classical mechanics knowing the current place and velocity of a particle should allow to exactly deduct the path of the particle but as it turned out this wasn't possible; basically while you are not looking you cannot tell what the wild thing does; only when you observe it, it definitely has one of several states;
      so the idea behind the entanglement is that some of these particles are interdependent and therefore scientists assume that they could indeed make valid statements about the state of a particle from only observing another entangled particle... after they figured out the relation between the two particles properly by observing them long/often enough
      so what Eva means here is that both macroscopic systems of alt-Martha's and Jonas' worlds (or for simplification's sake Eva's and Adam's world) are entangled and all the systems in them, too... which includes people; Ulrich and alt-Ulrich are two entangled systems for example; now the relation is, that both systems will at some point develop equally; not at the same point in time but at their own speed...
      this whole concept is groundbraking; it offers a complete new look at the behaviour of people (in small rural towns - if you watched the interviews) and completely throws the need Novikov's self-consistency principle to explain the obvious closed temporal loops out the window... or maybe it just offers a solution that might someday turn out mathematically equivalent
      BUT... IF you paid attention so far... this did not answer alt-Martha's question at all: how can Jonas still be alive in his world?
      So both concepts together kinda do: She implies that the entanglement binds all of them together in these loops that feed back into each other; that certain actions in her world create a version of Adam's world that leads to another version of her world which in turn leads to a second version of Adam's world which unevitably leads back to the first version of her world.
      So this is the working theory so far; let us get into spoiler territory to further analyze this scene
      well... I did not drop out of high school (I did in fact drop out of studying electrical engineering over n-dimensional ranges of numbers) but alt-Martha did in fact drop out of high school on November 4th 2019; so how would she know any of this? because she heard it twice before, once when she was a teen and then 33 years later before she finally told it to her younger selves; this is another incident of information without origin; this is by definition of Novikov a jinn of the second kind, a bootstrap paradox;
      in fact if we already applied quantum mechanics to the situation or rather the macroscopic systems we should realize that the problem at hand (how does Jonas live?) can be described using quantum superposition; this concept assumes that a particle does not simply jump from valid state to valid state when not observed but can actually take on more than a single state at once or rather some combinations of states add up to create valid states; this is an assumption because - as I said earlier - we cannot observe this as the particle always has a certain state while observed
      basically a certain Jonas and another certain Jonas add up to allow for a valid timeline
      Oddly enough we already assumed this concept to be true for a while now; this is the quantum mechanical concept behind Everett's many worlds; that the timeline of a world could go either way and that both worlds coexist... originally the idea was to solve the question whether the observed state was completely random or not; the assumption is that each valid state is observed in its own world; so instead of the particle behaving randomly you could simply assume that the world you observe it in is random, I guess? (as I said, I did drop out at some point)
      so if you still try to figure out how those loops add up to create a closed super loop... they don't; Eva's world is not created by keeping Mikkel from going back in time and Adam's world isn't by sending him back; there simply aren't four timelines
      so yeah; I hate this scene because Eva seemingly explains two Jonases with quantum entanglement without superposition; but I love this scene because it makes perfect sense that Eva is simply wrong in her explanation

    The Unknown are causing the nuclear accident in 1986 on both worlds which creates the fuel needed for time travel.

    Nice one. We see that both Adam and Eva have roped in a bunch of people, who clearly believe that either Adam or Eva - with all their decades of knowledge and experience from time-travelling - have the definitive answer on the best course of action. But we also know that neither Adam nor Eva tell their believers, not even their younger selves, the whole truth.
    We now see that the Origin causes the incident (that Claudia found out about when she became the power plant director) in both worlds in 1986, to ensure the possibility of time travel. They got the two master keys for the power plant and some plant schematics during that previous mission where they killed Bernd Doppler. The incident/accident caused an overproduction of Caesium-137 (a byproduct of nuclear fission), which was then stored in the yellow barrels and hidden, because Bernd Doppler wanted to keep the incident under wraps. The Caesium-137 then could be used as a "time travel fuel" and also played a crucial role in creating the god particle (scientists actually dislike that name and call it "Higgs boson" instead). And of course, by the barrels being opened again in both the normal and in the alternate world, it also played a part in the apocalypse.

    Where is last episode.?You said you watched last two back to back and it feels like it’s been well over a week since you posted the second to last. Are you going to wait two years before posting it like you did between episode one and episode 2?
