Fun fact, the internal storage is actually a hidden microsd, it is under the plastic on the side. You can swap it for a 128GB one and really not needing another sd card at all!
I’ve owned a Leica T 701 and now a TL2…I wish you guys didn’t do videos on it. It was actually affordable (I bought it new for $900!) and lenses were reasonable. Now, you guys are all driving up the prices like crazy 😂
Great, honest, knowledgeable review. Yers, 3rd party lenses are the way to go with Leica. The FSU KMZ Sonnar style Jupiters are good but watch they can be uneven, Canon is good. Interesting camera. Thanks.
Had one and sold it as it’s simply not worth double the price of a Fuji…. I think the main limitation is the aps c sensor and with the 18mm at 2.8 the image quality is not really different from other cameras…
Agreed, lovely camera , picture are much better than the one you are showing. Original shot are nice with lovely colour, the change you made on colour are not my taste at all. The aluminium silver version is an awesome object and a pleasure to use it with different feeling. Nice result with sigma lenses and M lenses.
I get this camera pretty cheap with two TTArtisan lenses and yes, it’s strange that we like cameras like this. It’s beautiful made - but without focus peeking and without viewfinder, you may miss a lot of shots. Sadly, even if it’s a dead system, Leica APSC L Mount lenses are stupid expensive. So I spend some money for a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 which is a great addition for this camera. AF speed is very slow, but it’s accurate most of the time. I still want a Leica only combination and like the idea of having a Leica CL but you have to pay nearly the same amount of money like a Leica Q. One thing for sure - my Leica T stays with me.
You end up loving this camera, eventhou there are not focus peaking or any optional way to check the focus if its being use with Manual lens like i my case, also it is hard to find bateries. This camera goes with me everywhere. and eyes focus on it when they see the Leica red dot on it. Its seriosly a beautiful camera.
Most modern cameras (other than Canon) have abandoned the AA filter. It can be a useful feature despite softening the picture a bit - as its there to eliminate moire. Most modern brands rely on a more powerful processor to detect and avoid moire. Its good enough now that not having it is usually preferred but its not perfect and is not pool-proof unlike the AA filter. IMHO on an older camera having the AA filter is often worth the trade-off. You can sharpen a picture in a second in lightroom, its not so easy to get rid of moire.
I've been rockin' E.V.I.L. cameras since the release of the Sony Nex5n (electronic viewfinder interchangeable lens) and the lack of viewfinder definitely take some adjustments to ones shooting stance. I definitely think I would miss an articulating screen without that viewfinder option. For me, the whole point of shooting without a viewfinder is to squeeze out a candid shot without the subject noticing the camera being raised. That aside this camera seems amazing and you bet your ass I'd love to fill up an sd card or two!
I was looking for buying this camera because I wanted a very small point and shoot camera. But I wonder, would it work with the recent Sigma L mount lenses? Like the 20mm F2 DG DN?
reviewing camera but showing us the result of your raw edit it‘s like reviewing a food from restaurant that you cook by yourself and your own recipe. What’s the point then showing us the result if it’s edited

Because the vast majority of photographers shoot in raw…. If you are spending that much just for jpeg colours in the hope of getting a film look, you are vastly better off shooting actual film. If all you want is the exact look that Leica bakes into its jpegs, then you can just get literally any Panasonic camera for way cheaper. They use the same colour science. Most pro and semi-pro photographers buy cameras for the image quality and usability of the camera. They apply whatever colour grading they want in post.
What an elegant design. Thanks for sharing. I’d really like you to compare it to a GRIII. Also apsc, internal storage and minimal form factor and probably not much more expensive if you also get a used GR. Is there a good reason to go with the much older T than the newer GR?
Beautiful art object posing as a camera. I almost bought one a few years ago, but found that I do need an EVF, so I ended up getting a Sony RX100 VII, which is great. After all, a camera is really a tool, not an art object. I still would like to own one just because... but can't justify it.
Somehow missed that tyis existed. Thanks. One thing - it would be great to see unedited photos if youre talking about how great the color is. I know presets help you monetize but maybe show a before and after?
all these Lecai reviewers…all these limitation and then I love the camera. Oh and at double the price of every other camera. Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t get it.
Feels like a redundant segment of the market, especially considering the price, the lack of the usability this offers Vs using a smartphone or a camera with more functionality.
Impossible since every photography RUclipsr seems to be jumping on reviewing them with the same boring formula. ‘Wow, polished for 45 mins!’ ’Cool lugs!’ ‘Designed with Audi’ Genuinely cool camera, so many features that most of these reviews miss. Shame to see them going up in price so much, nothing is sacred in online communities.
Touchscreens are overrated. Like if the glass breaks then the ability to even use it goes out the window. It is why I do not care for a touch screen even in my car. But I def see the convenience and feature people may prefer in that. I just prefer it not be a trend for cameras.
I'm sure the camera is great, but proprietary strap lugs suuuuuck. As an avid film shooter, I can tell you these things get lost over time and are a PITA to replace. My mamiya 645 pro came with 1 lug missing, and since none of the aftermarket lugs got correctly, I ended up paying $100 bucks for an unopened set of OEM ones. Proprietary accessories of any kind make any camera worse.
8 year old camera with a lens costing nearly a £1000 secondhand. Why justify that expense when you can get a much better newer camera for the same price.
Audi’s are one of the most frustrating, unreliable cars on the road. They’re also driven by arse holes (ass holes). I wouldn’t bother unless it’s a TL2.
Not really, I have the x100 and xpro but the Leica T is s different feeling to use and you get different result. That is a gem, and luckily the price is still low. Cheers

Seems like an amazing camera to use, does it have its own line of lenses? 🤔
Yes. There's a set of first party Leica APSC lenses.
Prime:
18
23
35
60
Zoom
11-23
18-56
56-135
Downside is that apart from the 18 that is a bit lacklustre is the others are super expensive
You can use every L-mount lens. Sigma also offers really good primes for APS-C sensors.
@@CM_7some of the sigma lenses are quite big though and lose the pocket ability of the camera

What's with the vignetting tho?

No. It’s l-mount compatible.
Isn't that a Zeiss design?
Is that the wall climbing guy from Jujimufu's videos??
Most websites say this camera is mid as hell and def not worth the $1500 price tag. You gotta be out your mind being mid with that price.
