Codelife I strongly don’t recommend this setting as it crashes other programs and the game runs better in normal priority
Also high priority makes my game hitch more and my audio to cut out. (my opinion tho so do what u want)

If i set the fps on unlimited in creative i get 300+ fps. But then i have a strange sound trough my headset. Its not when its on 144 or 240fps. Do you know why?

@@meneerkaas8434 I have that aswell its normal, try buying a ground isolator adapter and make sure it's plugged into the back of your computer. It worked for me

Yeah bro, ever since this new engine my fps has been in the toilet. Always had consistent 240 before the engine.

Since chapter 2 my FPS is way worse. Season 9-10 which is when I started playing I got a consistent 240 and above. Now since the start of chapter 2 I get 100-200
honestly, unreal engine was WAYY better than what we got now

Thank you. Not entirely certain if it fixed the stuttering I am having which is why I want to change priority but I was able to change it to high priority with the steps to the registry in this video, never edited that before, clear and helpful steps that were quick.

Anyone having fps drops / stutters should actually lower the priority, priority in task manager only applies to the cpu. The reason your fps is dropping is because your cpu is being over utilized, so doing this would actually make the problem worse. To fix stutters or fps drops you need to do 4 things
Go into performance mode on fortnite
Play on a higher resolution (1440p+)
Overclock graphics card (it is safe, just dont go crazy with it)
Set priority in task manager to low / below normal.
However, if you're just getting consistently low fps (with no significant fps drops) set the priority to high.
To lower the priority on task manager, set the regedit DWORD value to 1 instead of 3 like he said in this video.

Depending on your pc, High priority or Below low priority are both worth trying. For me, High gave me slightly higher fps but VERY frequent lag spikes.
Below Low gave me slightly higher fps and pretty much completely fixed my fps spike issue. Tho my cpu now runs 5 degrees warmer.
Cleaned the dust out of the fans now its good as gold.

I hit 37-100 fps. I hit 70-100 fps in creative, and when looking at the sky. And I hit 40-60 fps when I'm in a fight in game. Note: that I play with the lowest res and at the lowest percentage

im happy it was debied cuz now ill get you to stop doing it. if you set it on high priority it processes the app that you set on high priority more than others and will cause a slight delay depending on hardware and software for example your mouse or your keyboard processes will be decreased as to make room for fortnite

if someone's using haste, or no ping ( which reduces ping ), don't do this, it will take up ram usage and you're ping reducing program won't work and you will have 200+ ping.

Just wanna help you out guys since i used that setting for nearly a year if ur a low end pc it makes ur mouse stutter and make the mouse movement bad because it gives the priority to the game for than the input devices so its not for low end pc if it work for ur mid end pc or high and want to make it permanent there is a progran named prio that makes the changes permanant

@@topmen17 you didn't get it, I said nobody needs such a fps. the ideal number of it, is 60 fps and 90 till 240(not recommended)for competitors and using up to 600 fps as you said is first of all not stable and ruins your gpu every day u use that high (besides it depends on your graphic settings and which game you playing with). AND the only option between 60 and up to 240 Is literally a motion blur. SO RIP and BUG OFF.

it does indeed increase your performance. It depends on the game in general, i've seen massive performance boosts by setting the i/o priority and regular priority to high in some cpu heavy games like tf2 or black ops 3. I mean hell I benchmarked roblox since its actually very difficult to run some games due to the optimization and dependency on single core cpu speed, and I saw pretty big jumps plus frame drops were eliminated. also you should set it to high and use process hacker to save the changes.

Follow what he did to set the value in the registry, it will stay on forever (if you don't like it, just change the value from 3 to 6 for AboveNormal Priority or 2 for Normal Priority)
