    The film Stan & Ollie is one of the best film portraits ever. It pays homage respectfully and honestly. It's a valentine to these two great entertainers, and a gift to all who have seen even one of their films. The care everyone connected to the project took to make it so shows in every frame.

      @A. Fox you didn't ask for a sentence and your question could be answered with one word

      @A. Fox you did ask me to clarify which I did. And I speak 2 languages including English which we are currently using. The trying to be funny smartarse on this thread is you I'm afraid

      @A. Fox good luck in debate with one word?! We weren't debating at that point. I answered your question.
      You are needlessly aggressive when there is no need to be.
      So far you haven't really voiced an opinion on Steve Coogan

    I didn't know they performed their movies in multiple languages. That's crazy impressive.

      In the old days of cinema, Alfred Hitchcock shot the English language scenes and then had to re- shoot into a foreign language, as they still didn't know how to dub !

    Any fans of L&H should read John Connoly's novel, "He". It's the story of their lives told through the eyes of Stan in retirement. Since he's been gone for years, the interpretation is fictional though the history elements aren't...Stan was the comic genius behind the team in case you didn't know!

    • @rackinfrackin
      @rackinfrackin 5 лет назад +4

      Sorry, but "He" is a piece of pretentious trash. Read "The Comedy World of Stan Laurel" by John McCabe instead. Even better, "Laurel & Hardy: The Magic Behind the Movies" by Randy Skretvedt.

      I bought a paperback years ago entitled Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy. It may have even authored by Mr McCabe. Good read full of facts about both of their lives.

      "De Dikke en de Dunne" in The Netherlands. Meaning "The Fat One and the Thin One". But we also called them "Laurel en Hardy".

    There are only two or three short films where Stan and Ollie had to learn Spanish phonetically. The greater advantage for their world-wide fans was the fact that, like Chaplin’s, so much of their comedy was visual.
    I probably will not see this - why watch imitators when you can watch the originals? - but I appreciate the efforts by the production to be accurate.

    • @gohumberto
      @gohumberto 5 лет назад +8

      it isn't a remake of the original films so it's not imitation. It's more of a biopic about their final times together.

    Stan & Ollie was great! As a lifelong fan (I'm 25) its great to see that Steve Coogan loves Stan Laurel and took the time to study the genius that was Stan. I was able to see a press screening in November, if you want to see a review on it, check it out here ruclips.net/video/RKj4LhMg1x4/видео.html
