I met Steve yesterday (24th Feb 23) he came to my Grandma's funeral. With his mother, after the service he took his mother home and then came to the wake on his own. Spoke to my mum, my aunts 1 by 1 and then my Grandad. It was very wholesome and I appreciated it so much that he did that.
@DonJuanDM yeah, he grew up with my mum and her sisters. His mother was my Grandma's best friend back in Blackley. That was the first time I met him, sad way to meet him but yeah.
@RUclips Man meh did meet Steve at his Grandma's funeral. I should know, I am the Grandad referred to. Steve Coogan is so great, he deserves to be more appreciated. For instance I often tell people about Hamlet 2 and they've never even heard of it. That movie should be as famous as Wayne's World.
Meh, I was a huge fan but he's past it. His more famous and celebrated works were written by talented writers. His rants about politics only make him even less funny.

One of my favourite films witch is coincidental because laurel and Hardy are my favourite comedy duo. Both John Riley and Steve Coogan did a truly remarkable performances of the legendary pair.
Coogan's got such a lot of talent, a really clever man with some comedy gold (and dramatic performances too). I reckon he will just keep getting better and better like a fine wine.
His Kinnock impression is spot on. There's a sketch where a Chris Morris is trying to sell The News of the World a cassette of Kinnock abusing a waiter. The first time I heard it I was completely taken in.
I wonder if Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon have seen Netflix's auto-created preview videos for their Trip movies like The Trip To Italy? (The ones that play automatically when you are just browsing.) They are awesome - the artificial intelligence doesn't understand the movies are comedy, so it auto created previews with flowery music and clips that make it seem like they're a gay couple on a romantic holiday, complete with drama and romance. So hysterical. Edit: Looks like only The Trip To Spain is available now, and the music/preview (which comes up on the Apple TV) is more like a serious drama. :-)
@@tomimpala On the Apple TV, first I searched for the movie, then added it to my watchlist so it comes up in the watchlist row. Then I highlighted the thumbnail and the preview auto-plays. I thought it didn't work at first. I updated my comment - only the Trip To Spain is available now.
That is magic, thanks for the heads up. The only one up for me was Spain and seemed more like something new from Focus Features about to brothers going across country for their estranged fathers funeral.

@@howarddavies7696 Absolutely. Like it is something that comedians do so well at times. The ability to do/say silly things in a silly way soo seemingly naturally or well prepared. Coogan is such a master comedian! I'm currently listening to Coogan's audiobook: "I, Partridge. We Need To Talk About Alan". Sooo good!! It's nice to see him on Graham Norton flanked by appreciative, intelligent guests, unlike that egregious display of disregard, verging on hostility, towards Coogan from a decidedly fatuous Charlize Theron the last time I saw him on the show.

@Fur Q if that's his biggest crime then sounds like a bloody decent guy
Was he wearing a Castrol GTX bomber jacket?
Not many people can actually pull off stallone. His voice is really distinctive but is actually difficult to get perfect and Coogan nailed it.
