Listen, I love Stan okay, and I've been wanting to make an amv about him for a while. Thanks to KayaaHiko ²'s video I was finally able to find the perfect song.

For anyone wondering about my amv tutorial video it is currently in the works. It might take a little while longer as I gather more questions and get settled into my second year of Uni.
I'm also waiting until a certain scene gets aired (manga readers know which one I'm talking about) before I make my next OP video in case anyone is wondering.

Yeah... honestly I half wish Stans sacrifice was a bit more permanent. I wish it ended with stan slowly regaining his memories, and Ford vowing to help stan regain his memory when Mabel and Dipper had to go back. And then, at the end of the credits, it shows a slightly older Dipper and Mabel (maybe 14 or 15) getting a letter from Ford saying they need to come back to gravity falls. Then, they are at the door and knock. Stanley opens the door and says. "Kids?" With a massive smile on his face, and he kneels down to hug them both. And it then cuts to black.

Stan hurts my heart in so many ways and I love this. He was such an abused kid, set up to fail from the start. It was a self fulfilling prophecy: his parents didn't care about him and so he kept looping back into bad behavior, which just reinforced their ideas that he was a shitty kid. And the same goes for Ford, because he was smart and they encouraged him, he kept performing well, so it reinforced their idea that he was the better twin and that Stan was shit.
And all I can think about today is how much Stan hurt when he got to meet the kids. They didn't know they had a "dead" uncle Stanley, the family had erased him to that point from their lives that they only knew about Stanford. How much guilt and shame and pain did he have to go through every time he dealt with his family, who was happier without Stanley in their life and accepted him into their fold because he was "Stanford?"
Stan sacrificed himself so willingly in the end and honestly.. it probably was an easy choice. He'd spent 30 years erasing himself. Stanford may have disappeared through that portal, but it really was Stanley who never existed after that night.

Stanley is definitely my favorite character in this show. He’s honestly one of the most relatable characters almost ever to me. All he wants is to do something right, to be someone’s hero and he sure tries his best. But even with his 30 years of work, his brother never even thanked him. Stanley has gone through a lot and may seem like a gruff bad person on the outside, but he’s golden on the inside.

Grunkle stan is my favorite character. His past was hard, and having kicked out at such a young age over an accident is heart-breaking. In some way, I feel for him, being a twin myself. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I had a falling out with my twin. She's basically a half of me.

I'm not a twin, but I had a brother one year older than me. We grew up together like this, but he died when I was 14. It's hard. Please appreciate your family. Its the only one you'll get.

He throws himself at an army of the undead to defend his niece and nephew, killing quite a few with a bat, and knuckle dusters, he fought a pterrodactyl just to save Waddles because Mabel loves him, he climbs a Rushmore like mountain to save them and he, for all he knew, ended his life as he knew it to save his family and the world. And when Bill was laughing and advancing on Stan, you could see the pure terror on his face. He was terrified of Bill, as everyone was. But he still sacrificed himself to Bill. He's truly a bloody badass! And I agree.

@@imagirlok7298 I'm thinking the song is more likely to be referencing Mika himself, since he changed his nickname that he got from his mother in the past and was raised religious, and the song's lyrics seem to be about the singer questioning his religion. It may have some LGBT based inspiration since Mika himself is gay, but there's no indication of it being about a trans person in particular. Not that I could find at least. I'm sure plenty of trans people can relate to it though.

I love this show SO MUCH. I liked the first season and I was like "this is funny and interesting" Second season and 😮mind blown. The relationships they show! The emotion! Stan was thrown out of his home, and his brother turned his back on him. Ford finally acknowledges that Stan exists, and just tells him to get as far as he possibly can. Ford burns his shoulder and still, Stan spends 30 years working hard on the small chance that Ford was still alive. I mean, it was 30 YEARS! Ford would probably be dead by then! Then it finally works and Ford punches him in the face!!! No wonder he wouldn't shake his hand! I love Stan. Even after all that, he basically died for them.

ausball_ I know man. Wish I could forget it, but there were so many great moments and then I would forget those too. I hate finishing a good show or book series, it just leaves a hole in my heart. I watched like one episode then stopped, and around a year later during season 2 I started watching it again, never thought I could feel this much for a cartoon

This song perfectly fits Stanley Pines’ life story. Great job editing the clips together! Especially at 1:34. I really felt the heartbreak that Stan must’ve felt there. It really shows how much he misses his twin brother

There are a lot of things that people disagree about in this world. But one thing that everyone can agree on is that gravity falls was an absolute timeless work of art and this brings back so many great memories.

I didn't know Gravity Falls before I watched this video, but this amv was so awesome I just had to binge the whole series and I'm so glad i did!
This man is my idol, he fights through every hardship. After only knowing violence as an answer to everything he wants to reconsile with his brother only for him to want him to never show his face again. I love him and his story.

this thing actually enlightened me concerning Stan's whole nature. He's bitter, impulsive, and inconsiderate. But he's hopeful that he can make everything right, and he truly loves those around him. Also holy shit, his story is so much more shocking when you watch in uninterrupted from beginning to end. It really hits home why he is the way that he is.

Not necessarily, I came into the fandom about a year after it ended and still greatly enjoyed it! And I had a ton of fun in the fandom still as well, even participated in a few zines (I was even part of the hunkles calendar again just this year). Personally, for me Gravity Falls is timeless! 😊

Stanley faked his own death and pretended to be Ford. I don't think the parents would tell them that Stanley their other grand uncle got into an accident 30years ago and died. Stanley was basically shunned and kicked out bcuz of the "accident" that he did. And the 3rd son is still a baby at that time(I think) who is dipper and Mabel's grandfather, I don't think he'll know more info about Stanley other than a twin of Stanford who got kicked out and is dead now. Their parents be like "u guys need to go outside, so we're sending ya'll to your uncle in Oregon gravity falls and his name is Stanford, he's your great uncle. You'll spend your summer there." Something along those lines

this show really at times made you think on what have you done with your life now? Stanley went through so much shit in his life but showed how he could make something out of it and the same can happen to us which is Heartbreaking at how realistic and dark life can be
