I am sorry if I’m the one to spoil them for you, but I have to use somebody from the pack in the thumbnail. They seemed like the safest picks, and to be honest the most likely to get someone to click.

I agree that the kameo could be a stunt double, but another option Im thinking is it could be the original timeline version of the character. They stated that in the new timeline some of the characters are reworked/reimagined, example in the trailer Scorpion is wearing a Lin Kuei crest. So it could be possible that the new Johnny Cage had a different upbringing and is not celeb stereotype.

Also my theory, which could be absolutely wrong (and probably will be wrong but it would be pretty fuckin sweet) is that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are LITERAL brothers in this new era: Liu Kang says “or united as brothers”; the top half of their faces, eyes and hair look exactly the same, Scorpion has a Lin Kuei badge (or both clans could have merged and that would explain their brotherhood “metaphorically”); etc. I see this happening two ways: either they retcon Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi as brothers, or they reinvent/merge Hanzo Hasashi and Bi-Han into one character (although I really doubt this because Scorpion is literally MK’s poster child). I know this is highly unlikely but I kinda would dig it, Hanzo is japanese, Kuai Liang is a chinese man; there’s no reason for them to look the same. And yes, I know that supposedly in MK lore the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei were spawned from a same clan ages ago. That’s my take, it’s a crazy idea but it would be a ballsy move and I would like it.

Omniman doesn’t have any powers besides his EXTREME durability and super strength/speed. Homelander has laser eyes, Sonic yelling on top of some durability and super speed, and also super hearing (not that it’ll matter in Mortal Kombat) and you could also argue why have Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the game since they’re both ninjas if that’s your complaint

I would really love MK to just have characters from the main franchise. Sometimes the special guest characters take away from the illusion we are in a MK universe. I think the time and space should go into giving us as many of the MK characters as possible. I know it is a pipe dream, but it would be awesome.

Spawn was the only guest character I really liked from MK11, for the same reason - his character makes sense in MK. The action stars like Rambo and RoboCop were novel, but it left me wishing that we got more 3D era MK characters instead.
Reread the leak. it doesn't say that Johnny is a kameo. it lists the 6 new characters. then it lists the 5 new kameos. then it says it includes a skin for Johnny.

As for how they would differentiate Omniman and Homelander its simple, 1 has heat vision while the other doesn't. Homelander personality is lazy so I can see him being a semi zoner type playstyle that spams his heat vision because that is his go to in the show, but Omniman I see him being a rushdown character to fit his unrelenting personality.

Reread the leak. it doesn't say that Johnny is a kameo. it lists the 6 new characters. then it lists the 5 new kameos. then it says it includes a skin for Johnny.

As for how they would differentiate Omniman and Homelander its simple, 1 has heat vision while the other doesn't. Homelander personality is lazy so I can see him being a semi zoner type playstyle that spams his heat vision because that is his go to in the show, but Omniman I see him being a rushdown character to fit his unrelenting personality.
5:38 my guy Quan Chi played an important role in MK far before the first tournament even happens if you ever played Sub Zero mythologies or know the lore at all

i think what johnny cage could be is that since thus game is 500 years ago, cages ancestors were a war cult that were breeding people to fight gods and that could be the character we play as, but the kameo dlc is the modern day actor cage

Honestly I’m still hoping this is fake, because why would they tease Ermac, not add him in MK11 as dlc, and now that they have the chance to add him, they add him as dlc rather then the base roster
And then there Tremor and Khameleon which makes zero sense to be cameos because so many fans love these characters and want them to get more of a spotlight. And it not like that’s hard to believe because Tremor did INCREDIBLY well in MKX and gained many fans because of it
I was saying this, imagine if amazon Italy was shown pictures of mortal kombat characters that were gonna be added to the kombat pack, and the first character was, let's say....hotaru, they were shown hotaru and amazon Italy (not knowing their media/video games) was like "oh, he looks like that guy from the uhhh that guy from uhh, that Netflix show, what's it called, OH! The Boys, its homelander"
