Thank you for explaining some of this from an intellectual perspective. Some of us who are artists will fail and fail and fail when we don't first understand the "why"...but when someone does explain the origins and the causes, then all of a sudden we are flying through what purely visual thinkers consider easy and "dont need to know" suff, but who don't end up 'flying' to higher visual levels without first grasping the intellectual "why"s.

Hah! You made the soldier! .. I've used so many parts of him in my earlier work years ago. :-)

3D scale brush hmm. That option gonna be holy grall during texture - especially bumpy monster skin or animal skin - but what with scales? Insertmesh brush with lazy mouse compare with that ?What you think ZB users?

Does that mean alphas are redundant now?

is there any way to customize these, like to make the scales have a sharper edge or make them wider in width per. or change something you scultp into this, for example making a pair of horns that i'll be putting onto multiple characters from the same race. I could sculpt any differences after they're on, but it would be nice to have something like that so I wouldn't have to sulpt the same ones over and over

Ryan, I am a fan and have been for a long time...but for god's sake, can you please learn the word "Vetex" every time you say "Verticie." Your credibility drops. I don't like that because I know how smart and knowledgeable you are. I think I've said this before years ago on one of your videos. PLEASE...It is one Vertex, many Vertices. There is no such thing as a Verticie. Sorry, don't hate me...I say this because I care. You are entertaining and informative and I appreciate that. The problem is, because you are an icon, other people are getting it wrong and that's not good. Your voice influences many.
