Thank you for this video. It's interesting that the leave-in's that work well with Camille Rose Curl Maker and Uncle Funky's Daughter, go well with Kinky Curly Curling Custard. That is good to know, as these are my favorite gels!
Aww, Bri, you look like a beautiful ballerina in this video! The whole look is sooo pretty! This video was so helpful, I have almost everything you mentioned & I can't believe I haven't tried it with Frizz Whiz... ya know I love that leave-in too! Kinky Curly products got scarce during the panini - I love the clarifying shampoo & was fortunately stocked up a long time ago on it. I've only ever tried KCCC with Knot Today, but I have used Knot Today with everything else. Knot Today is also that one detangler that I'll use in the shower when I have serious detangling to do & it never fails. It's also excellent as a base for... oils & butters (!)... in a DIY pre-poo or DC. Plus it smells good, & I originally liked it more than the custard. So I'd say it's worth having, but since you already have leave-ins that can do the same things, there's no need to be pressed. Can't wait for the next videos! xoxo 🌸🌸🌸

My 4a/3c hair LOVES the kinky Curl Curling Custard with multiple natural leave in like (soultanicals frizz whizz, , curl dream supreme ,knot sauce, glide and go, camille rose coconut water, and of course including the kinky curly knot today leave in . It’s so amazing but the custard does have a learning curve . It feels weird , like stiff or dry when applying after a leave in , but when it drys its so beautiful. So much definition, shine, and moisture. I found that when applying too much , the hold will be extreme level 10, so a little goes a long way 😂😂😂😂

Use KKNT but can’t seem to make it work. Recently I tried it and I love the end result but like you mentioned once I put the custard on top of it my hair almost feels dry. 🤷🏽♀️ I guess I’ll keep using knowing the end result is worth it.

I haven't used knot today in yearsssss but I do remember loving it. It gave me great moisture but I only used it with kinky curly curling custard - also keep in mind this was definitely in the early 2000s so product combos weren't nowhere near as relevant, or as possible as they are now 😎

this is definitely a much-needed video.
ive heard so many times that the only thing that REALLY pairs with this custard (without flaking, caking, hailing and snowing) is the matching leave-in.

Hey sweets, you look so cute!💓😍 The Knot Today leave-in is one of my staples, so I really think you should give it a try. I live in NC too, but I can always find it at my local Target and beauty supply stores. I don't have any of the leave-ins you recommended, but I was definitely taking notes.

Thank you for this. I used Kinky Curly for a wash n go and realized I don't like the leave in but I do like the custard but id also heard alot of people say the custard doesn't pair well with other products. I appreciate this video.
I used to be a gel girl for years, but since my big chop almost a year ago I’ve been all about cream stylers. My current favorite combo is the tgin green tea super moist leave in conditioner with the tgin honey hair milk. It gives moisture, shine, definition & volume that lasts a whole week. It gives me my perfect wash n go & I always get compliments.

It’s been a while since I tried the KC but I remember loving the both the leave in and custard. The knot today has great slip and was very moisturizing but you’ll probably only get like 5 uses out of it . I was also just turned off by the the messiness of the custard and didn’t like putting my hand in the jar. It really is a great product and helped elongated my curls but I need something with a pump and less messy.
I actually just tried the KCC with KKKT for the first time a few weeks back after like you never trying the combo together; it kept my hair soft, supple and smooth for 8 days. Like you I never tried the leave in with the KCC before and I’m glad I did.
Great video👍🏾😍💜🌹 OMG, you are so right. Shea Moisture screwed the JBCO leave-in up (that entire line) & d/c the Superfruit Complex line was messed up too. Cutting corners to save money isn't always what's best but I'm not a marketing major what do I know? I have Eden BW Almond Marshmallow hydration serum, it's the truth💯 Too bad I got frustrated with my KCC & threw it away last year😳 I so appreciate your honesty about products. Ty
You have inspired me to finally try the Kinky Curly custard. They sell it and the leave-in conditioner at my local Meijer grocery store.
I’ve only ever used kinky curly in my hair when my stylist used it on me in the salon. Definitely taking notes for me to try it out at home

I agree I use to love Shea moisture Jamaican castor oil but after the owner sold it. The ingredients kept changing and just didn't work on my hair anymore
I was done with Shea Moisture when they discontinued the High Porosity Line and the Super Fruit Deep Conditioner
I'm guessing these products where only discontinued in the US. In England (atleast, where I live), we can still find them in shops or online.
They brought it back. You can find it at Bed Bath & Beyond
1. I have been having a pretty successful time getting Pattern products at Marshalls in affluent white neighborhoods.
B. Camille Rose’s Herbal Tea leave-in has done will with all of my Mane Choice gels, so I may try it with Kinky Curly soon

Hey Bri...( hey Ellie🐈) There is a reason why you cannot find Knot Today leave-in in the stores...it is wonderful. I pair the KKCC with the Soultanicals Mango Dip Detangling Slip. I also still have some Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex line in my stock unopened. Thank you for bring it up...I will pull it out of my archives...🤣. Great vid!

I found out on accident that untie the knot leave in works with Kinky kurly because the high definition gel was flaking hard on me. I figured since the formulation is similar, it should work and it did! Also, oyin hair dew has similar ingredients and it works great with kinky kurly! Super moisturized and defined or looser depending on application. Oh Achia suggested using oil for the treluxe hi definition gel to help with the flakes, I personally have not tried that so I will try one more time,because I adore the results!

I use Kinky Curly in my 20 month old daughter’s hair & pair it with Camille Rose Coconut leave in rinse out detangling treatment. Works perfectly! It did take a min for me to touch it cause it was tooooo slimy & weird AF! But I have a system YALL! YA GIRL GOT IT 😂 I would buy it again. My daughter’s hair is growing beautifully. BUT not with the matching conditioner. EVER! It’s with the struggle 😆 🤷🏽♀️🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽❤️
For me, Knot today and kinky curly always flakes on me. Have used multiple times with the same flaky results. So, thanks for this very helpful info.
I haven’t been wowed by the knot today. It doesn’t leave my hair as moisturized as it should. I find the CR coconut water leave in works best with it. I layer the style setter in between. One of my best wng combos. I’m going to try it with the lavish and see.
Boom! Good to know, that's the combo I'll be using today. I love CR Moisture Milk & CR Coconut Water Leave In. The UFD & CR Coconut Water works well together for me but I need to try a Glycerin-Free gel because this humidity is killing me in the DMV.

Knot Today never worked with Kinky Curly Curling Custard for me even though they say that’s the best thing to use with it. Knot!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Untie the Knot is a favorite.

My hair loves Kinky Curly. Knot Today makes it too crunchy. I miss Uncle Funky but they changed their formula, which brought me to kinky curly
Try the kkkc with the camille rose honey leave in. Girrrrllll!!! I tried it by accident and my hair stay moisturized for EVER!!!!!! SOFT DEFINED CURLS AND I HAVE 4 B, C hair. It's actually changing the texture of my hair and making my curls elongated and just different in a good way!
Shea Moisture stayed fixing what’s not broke. I got tired of them due to that as well. Discontinued all of their good lines. It makes no sense 😒

The Jbco leave on from Shea moisture is complete trash now! They changed the formula twice! Uuugghh I bought 2 a about 2 weeks ago and I returned them both…… the Original formula was soooooo good! It was kinda runny but mannnnn the moisture and slip, hopefully they dont change the formula on the mask
