Every other review for this knife starts with "I don't hunt" or "I don't carry fixed blades" then there's this guy starting the video smoking a cigarette with a deer carcass behind him. This a guy I can trust
Don't worry about the handle splitting or cracking cause of expanding and shrinking like most natural woods do from what I understand about diamond wood is that it layers of wood bonded with epoxy or something similar to that so unless there is some voids it won't crack, I got a 110 with that and haven't had any issues and I've had that knife for a year or so
I now have a failure on this handle. Handle is separating from the tang while skinning hogs. Which was a worry of mine to the thickness. It is being sent back to benchmade to be fixed.
I have now had a failer in the handle while butchering hogs. Handle is seperating from the tang is has a RMA and will be sent back to benchmade for repair
Thanks for your professional opinion on this knife. I saw it in a shop today and wasn't sure if I should get it. You convinced me. Sadly it costs 190€ here, but that's normal for American knifes with import taxes and secondary dealers.
If you decide to get one. I dont think you will be disappointed. It has held up very well so far. Your awesome and glad to meet someone from across the pond.
I just picked this knife up and I’ve been using it as a bush craft knife. it’s done me great. Great to baton wood. hacking away at shit making kindling. shaven knots off wood. whatever I’ve needed to use it for. prying into shit. no breaks no chips handle feels great in my hand. quality sheath and it’s kept on edge through everything. it’s still shaves. Quality review for a quality knife. And for what it is. what you could end up paying for other quality knives I think makes this seem relatively inexpensive.
O shit no. Lol mine was razor sharp from the factory. I worked up 11 deer last year i think with it and IT ALONE. And i had to sharpen it only once. Its sharp sharp and stays sharp. Now if you DO BUY ONE. benchmade has a free life time sharpening on their knives. Once you get it call them and see if you need to set anything up. You didnt have to when i bought mine but like everything things and policies change know what i mean. I think if you send it to have it sharpend it takes like 2-3 weeks to get your knife back. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to ask
@hahn-arms8006 man I tried I few things. Full on stone with multiple grits and oil. To one of them fancy rollers. And at the end of the day the thing that worked the best was a $12 Husky brand sharpening tool I got at home depot 🤡
Yep and they have been distroying them for years. People only see one side. Benchmade has a contract and distroys military weapons aswell as confucated weapons. Do i agree with it. (Not really) but do they make good products that ill keep buying (yes) and in my mind them distorying what cant really be resold is better than our corrupt gov. Selling them to gangs like the ATF has done in the past.
@@curve5746 then you better boycott about 50 other stores and companies because they donate to things, or do things most of us oppose too. If you are going to do it, go all the way. Sad that you stop buying something you really like because of misconceptions about what they did. And I'm getting ready to buy another Benchmade because I'm not influenced by what others think, i'll buy what I want.

😂🤞only reason you didnt get the beer also is because i was out 😎
That was my thoughts too! This guy hunts! :D
Is there any other knife you'd like to see because you are the best comment ever 😂
Finally a review from an actual hunter and not just the knife brand new on a bench lol. Thanks man. Fantastic video
Everything I have I use. And I try to keep all reviews up front and honest. Thank you
Any other knife you'd like to see send it to me I'll try it. It is now butchering season

If you strop it a little bit every time after you use it, you may never have to actually “sharpen” it.
Do you use it for gutting the deer or just skinning them? Have your thoughts changed on it. I’m thinking of getting one for my boy. Thanks.
I use it for the whole process skinning to gutting to butchering. I haven't had any issues out of it.
Thanks for the review. The dude on Meateater recommended it as well. That's why I was checking out videos.

Thanks for a good review. Thinking about getting this for my first hunting knife.
It is a nice knife. I will do another video on it this coming deer season. You shouldnt be disappointed. I didnt baby mine in anyway
I’m about to buy the Saddle Mountain Skinner knife. Would it be a waste of time to get it sharpened professionally brand new, or is it good to go?

HAHN - ARMS thanks man! You got great videos
Hope that helps. Your awesome keep up the good work
Thank you lol
So have you had to sharpen it yet??
Yeah ive sharpened it afew times now. But i also only use it during hunting season. So its not like it gets heavy use other than 4 months a year.
The S90V steel stays sharp for a while. But when it DOES come time to sharpen it. It's kind of a bitch to sharpen.
I have sharpened it twice now with no issues. I'm sure it depends on what you use

How did it do gutting?
I have had no issues with it so far
What steel is this? S30v? S90v?
S30V i believe but i dont have the knife in my hand so do not hold.me to that
Wood handle is s30v
The hell is “skun”? 😂
Same thing as yall saying (skinned while on public land) 🤣😉
Good review
Thank you
I guess you didn't see what benchmade did

Now with that being said id be more concerned about walmart, American express, BB&T, places like that. Those are companies i personally boycott.
@@hahn-arms8006 you can't win them all I guess
I was unaware of this. I will never buy another benchmade again. Thanks for the info. I loved their knives up until this.
